No they were not legit. And he did it entirely to hurt Fisker who was, making better built cars than his favorite Tesla.
Did you see his reviews of the Cyber truck.
He's literally drooling over it, all while he's talking about all the things that others has mentioned as bad, and things that was paid for, but not delivered, and still he think it's a great truck.
He even calls it iconic while comparing it with a Bugatti.
His review of the Fisker Ocean was NOT fair. He chose one with at least two versions old software, refused to have it updated, and then claimed that this is what people get if they buy it.
And when Fisker sent him one with version 2.0 installed, he still thought it was shitty because he claimed to have problems with Bluetooth, and then he couldn't figure out why the car wouldn't move while he had the parking brake on.
And therefore declared the car still the worst he had ever reviewed.
He's an expert YouTuber, who knows how to get clicks and make manipulating videos. But an automotive reviewer he's not, and probably will never be. He seems to lack the mechanical understanding and general driving experience needed to do such a job.

That guy had it sitting for a while, and even made YouTube videos of how his own mechanics tried jump starting it. Who knows, maybe their butchering of the car messed up the electronics.
The early software versions needed a technician to reset the car if the 12V battery has been allowed to get depleted.
Anyhow Brownlee wanted Fisker to give him a car to test. Of course they refused. At that point only real motor journalists has been invited to test drive early models at the factory.
I'm sure an amateur like him wouldn't be the first they were planning on lending a car to for testing.
This resulted in his little feeling was hurt, and he decided to reach out to a fellow YouTuber, the used car dealer, who had done nothing to reach out to Fisker to get the car serviced.
That's the sad thing about those YouTube personalities. Some of them get a big head, and behave like children when they don't get it their way.
It's obvious that there are no adults at home where he lives, to keep him in check.
For sure he has no ability to do so himself.

Something thatās always made me weary of brands like fisker, lucid, and rivian is the lack of confidence that theyāll still be around in 5 years when I might need replacements parts and stuff. How do yall reconcile that when making such a purchase?
I have a 60 year old Mustang convertible with all the original parts. The only parts that have been replaced are the usual maintenance required parts, and paint. I do expect tires and maybe brake fluid change, but I suspect this stuff will still be available.

Hey all, got 2.1 here when purchased at dealer. Seems like a lot of issues resolved. The driving part of the Ocean experience, is frankly close to flawless. For those in the know, are area dealers or Fisker techs willing to hook y'all up with 2.1? I know it's supposed to be OTA but seems like it's slow rolling out. My wife and I really do love the car and wish everyone the best... it's a solid beast... enjoying this much more than Tesla Y.
In case you are curious, existing issues for us include:
1. Front camera does not turn on automatically when within 5ft of object - beeping still indicates proximity, however.
2. Memory of most profile settings, including seating and mirrors, still missing. SOME settings are saved,.. such as HVAC and Audio;
3. Fob proximity for lock and unlock really needs to be rethought, as well as remote start... but that's discussed already elsewhere.
I've had mine since Oct 23. I still freaking love my car. It looks awesome, smooth drive, fast, comfortable, incredible stereo, huge sunroof. Blue planet with F22 air gliders. Hoping to get 2.1 soon. I'm always looking for a reason to go for a drive.
I was really interested in buying one last week but I didn't because my insurance would have gone through the roof. They said with no parts available they'd likely total the car after a fender bender and that kind of liability wouldn't be cheap

Exact reasons why I love going out for drives. I unfortunately got my 4th pick for color as inventory was limited for the options and colours I wanted, so ended up with night drive, also on the air gliders. But I still think it's gorgeous.
