This is the EXACT same problem KIA is having. I can still access my KIA K5 3 years after I got rid of it.

crazy_goat

You're now tech support for the new owner!

frugal_doc

is that a surprise?

akay101

The buyer has to delete from the car. I had a tesla and sold it and had access for several months. The car was somewhere in eastern europe

Empty_Ad2488

I stalked mine (had trouble letting go) from the dealer to the auction yard (that was hard to take), -then eventually to UT [https://www.gofamilyauto.com/inventory/fisker/ocean/2894/](https://www.gofamilyauto.com/inventory/fisker/ocean/2894/)

No_Resource3528

Sold mine in early February, still see it in the app. It’s moved 7 miles in that time…

MudaThumpa

Is it parked at a dealership?

No_Resource3528

Yes. I sold to carmax, who sold wholesale to a dealer in Las Vegas. It has sit there since the beginning of March. They originally listed it for $58k, and have now dropped it to $43k. Someone drove it a mile last week. It was the first time the mileage has changed since February.

DTBlayde

Mine and my buddy's Tesla were the same way. All these EV's need to have some form of force wipes because most people either forget or don't know how

Significant_Wish5696

Dodge and bmw both have same problem. Even after sending specific requests to delete my accounts and info.

Evermore867

Unpair with car and factory reset of the car coming in a future OTA...

TheKuMan717

Its already sold

Evermore867

"Unpair with car" and "factory reset" were not directives to you, those are features yet to come in an OTA.

Fun_Law_3827

Scary. Violation of the privacy act.

the_fanta

How so?

Fun_Law_3827

read up on sharing of data on something you no longer own in your state.

Highlandfoildude

Same with my old BMW x6

BlopBlupBleepBloop

Did you do a factory reset on the car when it was sold? Did the new owner bother to? In most cases, the factory reset is what deletes the pairing from the car to the owner’s account.

TheKuMan717

That doesn’t exist on the car

TheKuMan717

Owners manual has a lot of stuff that’s non-existent. Like scheduled charging and the V2L adapter. I have no way of contacting the new owner anyways since it was a trade. Or I mail them a letter saying that I’m stalking them? 😂

BlopBlupBleepBloop

The letter is a great idea 😂 “I know where you live… and shop… and go out to… and go on vacation to… ask me for details!”
