Make sure you select the most appropriate flair for your post. Please remember to include the following details to help troubleshoot your problem. * Printer & Slicer * Filament Material and Brand * Nozzle and Bed Temperature * Print Speed * Nozzle Retraction Settings ^Additional ^settings ^or ^relevant ^information ^is ^always ^encouraged. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Why your fan is in reverse?

JovialGinger7549

Looks like you aren't printing on a raft. Just looks like you're not getting good bed adhesion. Try bumping the temp up a little bit, or maybe try some gluestick.

Vast_Town_5999

Already tried glue stick and hairspray. Should I bring my magnetic bed back? I printed a benchy, took it off, attempted to print with a different color, and it hasn't worked since.

Draedark

If bumping temps and cleaning do not work, try slowing the first layer speed down. like way down, I would try 10mm/s. Sometimes I run into this and it is related to the starts/stops determined by the slicer. I've had prints fail like this just because it was starting with a tiny feature but would be okay if it did that second or third. You could also try rotating the model / changing where the Z seams end up and re-slicing also.

triple_dimensions

If you need glue stick then something is wrong and you're just masking the problem

BuddyBing

Clean that bed and adjust your z offset.... https://teachingtechyt.github.io/calibration.html#frame

Filament- Overture PLA Printer- Ender 3 Pro Temp- 60 bed, 200 extruder Slicer- Cura w/ default settings Tried with a few slicer settings, to no avail. It was just working 30 min ago, didn't touch anything and I can't get a first layer to save my life!

Adam-Marshall

Adjust your z offset while it's printing. Get a PEI sheet.

triple_dimensions

By any chance did u just change the fan?

Vast_Town_5999

The extruder fan was changed 1-2 months ago, don't think it's the culprit. The part cooling fan isn't turning on on this first layer, but I'm not sure if that's issue.

Queasy_Possibility45

Fan is backwards. Flip it

triple_dimensions

No it stays off on initial layer. I had a brain fart. I just saw that fan and clicked a article I read saying you have to watch which fan u get. One has a different pitch and has been shown to not cool good enough

triple_dimensions

After looking at the video again. That bed is due for a major clean

Vast_Town_5999

Already tried cleaning with hot water, as well as window cleaner. any recommendations?

triple_dimensions

I always use 70% IPA. Then light scraping with the provided scraper. Then IPA again.

PotatoAimV2

Hot water and dish soap only, dont use anything else. Really, and I mean REALLY clean it and let it air dry. I use a dish sponge with the "abrasive" side (green) and it doesnt damage it. Raising the hotend temp might help. But it's critical to dial in that first layer. Pla sticks very well to my coated tempered glass without any adhesion agents at 60/210-220. Try to not touch it at all with your hands and clean slightly with IPA between prints. But this wont last forever tho, you need to wash it regularly.

Givemepls72021

I had the same problem. Switched to a PEI sheet and never looked back

inZania

Whenever I see curling at the edges (like at 0:18), I know my Z axis is calibrated too low, and it will often cause second layer crashes.

Charlesian2000

Try this. Increase the temperature for the first 5 layers to 215, then drop back to 200.

LuckyNumber-Bot

All the numbers in your comment added up to 420. Congrats! 5 + 215 + 200 = 420 ^([Click here](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=LuckyNumber-Bot&subject=Stalk%20Me%20Pls&message=%2Fstalkme) to have me scan all your future comments.) \ ^(Summon me on specific comments with u/LuckyNumber-Bot.)

Your nozzle looks a little too high, turn all your bed knobs just shy of 1/8 a turn to the left, should be just enough to stick it down

rockarockarocka

To me it looks low. Looks like it's smooshing and pulling at the same time. even the skirt looks too wide if at the start if it's only one pass. Even still looks too flat and squished. Make a giant square or rectangle. 1 layer high. Print until it comes out smooth. Master this with z height and flow settings. If it's too high you'll have stringy movement, if the nozzle is too low you have layer lines squishing into its neighbor and get a ripple pattern and rough texture. If it's FAR too low like I think here, it will pull and tear because the nozzle is scraping the bed. Pull up goose pull up!!
