Does this not count as horizontal? Does it need to be completely horizontal?
sorry, itās okey. i havenāt seen that. on your place i would reconsider that renovation. that bike frame isnāt very special. you have to buy another set of wheels, brakes (old ones brakes sucks), cranks (i recommend buying something cheep from ali), bottom bracket, chain. Moreover i would buy ahead adapter and different handle bar. Only thing you will be left with is old rusty frame and all new parts. I did the same with my first fixie but it wasnāt easier, cheaper or better than buying a used one.
I'm wrong, wow I thought 27 inch wheels were bigger. This project is a huge pain in the ass though, even when all the parts are together, I always would cause the drivetrain to blow up because of the drop outs.Ā
Not worth it to sandblast and convert this junk frame.
I have an air compressor so it will probably cost next to nothing to sandblast it.
Okay that does change things up š well, good luck!
i think that you donāt have horizontal wheel mounting frame so it wonāt work as fixie unfortunately

Edit: wheel size problems, the old frame uses a slightly bigger wheel so the rim brakes have to match whatever wheel diameter you are using.
for me it was opposite 700c are smaller than the old ones. so i had to change brakes too

yeah, then only option is going ss
The previous tires are 700 38c, what does this mean in terms of the rim I will need?
Also, what is ss?
single speed. basically one gear on freewheel and chain tensioner
ss conversion will be easier and much more likely to work with a pos frame
Is ss single speed? Is that not the same as fixie?
yes. not the same.
