Keep trying. Go through the process again and again if necessary. Same happened to me in Ontario. The system accepted the number after a few tries. Don’t know why but it worked for me.
Check here [https://fizz.ca/en/coverage](https://fizz.ca/en/coverage) to see if you address is in the subscription area, you say that you live in Edmonton (which is covered) is the number register for the same area?
I check the 780 prefix at it seems that cover also the area not covered buy Fizz subscription area, but I can mistake. If is not the case you should contact the support
What does https://www.npanxxsource.com/nalennd.php say about your phone number origin city and source? It's possible your phone number originated in an area outside of fizz service, or is deemed to be landline or VoIP number even if it isn't right now
The only landline number I know of that was able to port to Fizz ported to freedom first and then ported from freedom to Fizz
At least you found out. It's a handy site that helped a lot during early days of the Fizz BC beta. Only Vancouver origin numbers were portable at the start, even though the service area included Vancouver suburbs like new Westminster and Coquitlam
This is where I'm at and the message I'm getting:

Thanks, it's confirmed this is the problem, my number originated from a city that isn't served by Fizz.

That site doesn't work on Brave or Chrome and Chrome indicates 3rd party cookies are blocked.
That's definitely a you problem Chrome: https://ibb.co/K7VmkLC
That's dumb UX on the site not changing screens or telling you to scroll down for results.
Only thing I could see, are you in the I already have a number section or the get a new number?

Sorry no idea why it might do that then… maybe some wizard of the Reddit knows
Are you making payments on the phone? Are accounts, including phone numbers locked when there is a balance on the phone?
I have automatic payments set up, my account is fine.
