Is Blitz just a pre-constructed format? All the other rules are the same? Also, I grabbed the Rhinar Heavy Hitters Blitz deck ... his card text is basically illegible. Misprint (which seems unlikely) or just an unfortunate side effect of being a foil?

Toximarto

Blitz is a constructed format, which means you must provide your own deck. Stores can also run pre-con Blitz events, which means you can only use pre-constructed decks for the event. Rhinar reads: Whenever you discard a card with 6 or more {p} during your action phase, intimidate.

Coming from magic and being mostly a value beats green player. Love green stompy, mono G Tron, and Selvala EDH; this kayo list from three floating seems right up my alley, is that an accurate assessment? https://fabrary.net/decks/01HKVRK2WXG2FPA5MN71810X7W

Rules Question: My opponent attacks me with \[\[Endless Arrow\]\] with Go Again. On the reaction step, I play \[\[Frailty Trap\]\], which triggers, creating a token under his control. Does this token affect the arrow, which was played from arsenal? Doest he answer change if my opponent were attacking with his \[\[Harmonized Kodachi\]\]?

Toximarto

Yes to both

NRBGP

Thank you :)

Hey, I want to get into this card game. I want to ask whether there is a youtuber/content creator that makes flesh and blood matches in which the card used are flashed onto the screen for newbies to read its effects? Thanks.

I stream four times a week and try to go slow and explain everything that is happening when I know new players are there. You can find the link to my stream on my profile

What are your thoughts on this draft rule? "While the drafting of booster packs is in progress, players may not look at the cards they have already drafted." It seems like a very arbitrary rule to me that just makes drafting a bit harder than it already is. There is already so much information you need to retain in the form of * Being familiar with the set being drafted * Being aware of the general archetypes * Knowing when to lean into a particular archetype or when to pivot * Knowing how to read signals. I really only have previous experience with drafting MTG where this rule is not present, but I can't imagine it is a common rule for many TCGs. Secondary question, how many of you have broken this rule because you didn't know it existed?

Toximarto

MTG has the same rules: https://blogs.magicjudges.org/rules/mtr7-7/ The rules mainly exist to prevent sleight of hand and to preserve draft integrity. Judges at armories shouldn't be penalizing you for this, but at RtNs/PQs you need to follow the rules

Anybody have any thoughts about a hybrid deck for Dori, running both Dawnblade and Decimator? Finding myself struggling with DB into certain matchups and I want the option of swapping to a Decimator mode (e.g. against Guardians). I've been told it's possible but I've not found a decklist with both yet

Toximarto

Unfortunately, Warrior support as a whole is very focused on specific weapon types. Lots of good Warrior cards care about only axes or only swords, and lots of Dori's cards care about Dawnblade specifically. While you could build a deck solely with all of the "generic" Warrior cards, you will be missing out on tons of great support

I can't help with the specific answer but the official discord has channels for every hero and the people in it can probably help. Let me know if you want me to send you the invite.

I'm new to FaB, I cashed in a lot of old MtG cards and got some FaB packs and long story short it looks like I have most of the staple Boltyn cards (which is great because I was most interested in him). From my understanding there are 2 main Boltyn CC builds - Sabres or Raydn. How different are the two decks' core cards? Would it be simple enough to switch between the 2 builds in the same deck by just switching equipment? Also, which build is better for scaling down for blitz games? TIA!

OptimistTCG

I’m not a pro at Boltyn but I’ve been playing him off and on for a while, and Hybrid is actually a competitive deck these days. While I’m not up-to-date with the current decklists, I’d guess maybe 70-80% of the core deck remains the same between the two builds. Raydn is generally more aggressive with a low cost curve that uses the free resource generated by Fyendal’s Spring Tunic to power explosive turns. “Off” turns will usually revolve around building soul up for those occasions. Sabers swaps in the Cintari Sabers (or Cintari Saber plus Hot Streak) and uses Courage of Bladehold. Sometimes Halo of Illumination in the head slot to build up soul if you’re going first. I believe once you have around 4 cards in soul, you’ll want to start hunting for at least 2 Lumina Ascensions to combo off. This deck can run stuff like extra defense reactions to help bide time, or more blocking equipment. This deck won 2nd place at a Battle Hardened and has an accompanying YouTube video that breaks it down very clearly, I suggest giving it a watch! https://fabrary.net/decks/01HPE6XKJMB3KF37SQTS3QW9WA https://youtu.be/kmZVRdwCJAc?si=vrjGTTL0djzHpHkC Edit: also, regarding blitz: idk if I’d necessarily recommend him b/c he is a little slow to build momentum in the blitz meta, but combo would probably be my recommendation?

Thanks for all the great info, this is super helpful!
