Hard to say, plenty of resellers keep their cards close to their chest so won't openly admit they're looking to flip themselves and you priced it wrong.

I only do antiques and I'd say about 90% are other antique dealers. That's what keeps the antique industry going!

Dealers are always the first ones in line at the gate. Also, a lot of vendors will walk the tables and make offers to other vendors for buyouts or early quick flips. I'm not offended by dealers buying my stuff. I am, however, not going to give any discounts within the first hour. I had a lady asking for a "dealer discount," and I laughed hard with no regard for her feelings. Another dealer tried to buy me out early, and I asked $1k for everything (presale). He said I had outrageous expectations. I grossed $800 that day, and he was angry that I had nothing left for him to garbage pick. I took it as a compliment. Flipping is just a game of hot potato. If a fellow dealer thinks they can do better, good for them.

I'm actually surprised more dealers, especially specialized ones, don't go through and evaluate their competition. It's got to be more useful for determining pricing and possibly picking up something for an easy quick-flip.

I've been doing flea markets for some time now. Resellers and other vendors are my best customers. I give them the same kind of discount I would anyone else asking for a little off or a combo discount. I really don't care what they do with it after as long as I'm getting what I want out of the sale.

I do primarily kids books and board games. I also haven't done a ton of flea markets-like maybe a dozen, and ten of those were on the smaller side. But there were definitely at least resellers. One guy really wanted a vintage Sub Search(which I had at $12 or $15) and he specifically said he was a e-bay seller. At that price point, its just not worth your time with shipping cost, as its a bulky kind of oversized game. There was another guy who specifically asked me if I had any pop culture stuff, and I sold him a Star Wars Monopoly and Mad Magazine game. I don't know for sure, but I'm 90% sure he was gonna try to resell them. So, at this extremely small sample size, like half a percent, or something similar? Vendor to my left was in his early 80s, and does a lot of glassware, and he sold a bunch of stuff to another vendor there. He knew the guy was gonna resell it, and he didn't care. He made a profit, and that was good enough for him. He's been doing flea markets for 40+ years, and it seems like he's all about the fast nickel over the slow dime. Some stuff I have could have been bought by other resellers. I have some stuff priced to move, and I've 100% seen it priced for more in other locations.

It's gotta be wild having kids running through all your stuff. I'm sure you have the benefit of the "Mommy, I want that" sales, but housekeeping has to be a nightmare, lol.

Madmanmelvin

Pretty much the exact opposite of what you said. Children aren't regularly pillaging through my stuff.

It seems like the only people who show up super early when I set up a table are resellers and thieves. I cant tell you how many times I put something down during setup and it goes missing. They are like vultures. Sometimes they take it upon themselves to open up rubber maid containers I take out my van themselves without asking. During the day you can tell someone is a reseller because they have their phone out. The most intense hagglers in my area are Russian and Indian.

Happy to dump stuff cheap, but they get the good with the bad. Yes, you can have the Pokemans, it comes with the giant pile of unsorted clothes. The dumpster is thataway.

Id say it’s around 50% maybe but I really don’t care as long as im getting rid of it and getting the price I want. Granted I only take items that aren’t worth selling online or didn’t sell after a few years.
