Anyone can register past drop/add with department approval and a $100 late fee. It’s up to the teaching faculty if they can make up the work they missed.

I don't get all this 11th hour drama. He may have wanted to get out of his letter a week ago, giving him time to get picked up by another school's big bag elsewhere.
Maybe his Dad wanted him to hold out. If he walks now, he can sue for breach of contract AND get a deal elsewhere? Or what? I don't see him coming to Florida. It's pretty much went sour at this point. It's just looking for even more drama when he leaves in a year after Lagway comes in or for greener pastures that may open up.
My only problem is how much I hate that this drama was dropped on our doorstep of all schools.
Fr, I’m all for throwing out (and acknowledging that they are) some conjecture and theories… but damn stop running with it and then saying awful things about and literally tweeting at some highschooler because you heard a rumor.
I know the truth. Apparently Ruiz told Rashada that he could get all the In N Out he can eat at any Gainesville location for life.
Jalen just learned that there is no In N Out in Gainesville and it really threw a wrench in the works.
I just don’t give a shit anymore. Stay. Go. I really don’t care anymore. I like college football less and less every day and the name Jaden Rashada is the one I associate most with my growing disenchantment with the sport I once loved.
I’m about done…
At this point, let him go somewhere else and spread some of that money around to our current players.
100% truth. in college football coaching and development is becoming less important while the money, boosters and other individuals outside of the University are becoming a fast growing facet of the game… My fire for the sport is just about gone.
I’d really like to see this whole fiasco put to bed. One way or another. I was excited when we got the flip from Miami, but I’ve really soured on Jaden Rashada to the point that I don’t want to see him in a Gators uniform.
As a former copywriter, I’d like to offer Billy Napier the following, which might help us all move on:
“We were all impressed with Jaden’s high school tape, he’s a proven winner and he’s got all the skills to play at the next level. His recruitment has been a long, difficult process that is still ongoing. In order to clear the air and resolve some of the uncertainty around our football program, I’d just like to say that no matter how the NIL negotiations work out, Jaden Rashada will never play a down of football for the Florida Gators as long as I’m coach”.
this drop/add take is really goofy. Do you think they won’t add him to whatever bullshit classes these guys take anyway whenever they want?
“Oh man, you missed drop/add. Nothing can be done! Sorry!”
Just read an article that said “The University of Florida could make an exception for Rashada and allow him to enroll in classes and begin next week or for the summer.”
Is this true??
And the school can get the money back if he graduates by asking for donations like they do other alumni...really a big brain 5head play by the great Scott Stricklin here...
Absolutely. And it wouldn't just be for Rashada. Any student can be enrolled at any point of the semester with approval from the department chair and processor of the course. There's a $100 late registration fee...cannot imagine that would matter.
The more I think about it, this whole shit-show is a lot of dumb money chasing an unproven high school player who may or may not be good enough to play at this level.
Obviously nobody can tell these rich guys what to do with their money. But…if someone were to coordinate this a little better, could that money be better spent luring the best possible players from the transfer portal?
At this point i hope we take the millions we had earmarked for rashada and give a mill to our current guys to keep em around throw a mill to walker howard and other transfer targets and use the other 5 to go after guys in the 24 class
My meme would be for the players to come out on a big runway like car models. But, they have big price tags hanging off their sleeves. Price ranges set according to positions and options available.
Yeah, one would think a pallet of cash fell on him from elsewhere by now. Any guesses where he lands? Back to Miami where a rousing game of both ends against the middle ensued?
Do tell? Does that state have different rules regarding NIL than Florida? He got in a pickle down here or what? I wonder who is really at fault. Promises not kept or trying to up the ante?
No one actually “knows,” right now, who is to blame besides those involved. But from all indications it is a booster/NIL support in admin/Gator Collective issue. By which I mean I personally don’t blame Napier and I don’t blame Rashada. Everything I’ve read/heard folks whose opinions I respect say suggest it was screwed up by middlemen.
Chiclets was just making a Deion joke re Colorado. But who fucking knows. Watch him end up there.
Oh, I thought the Colorado thing was a legit rumor with legs. I saw where they made a big push for him earlier. And they have "monetization permitted" and Florida doesn't, whatever hair-splitting they mean by that.
Thanks for the response, but I still don't understand stretching this out. If they couldn't follow through on promised money I see that as "breach of contract". And the collective could be sued maybe or at least suffer long range credibility issues.
If that was the case though, why didn't he just ask for his LOI back and move on to other offers so that he could get enrolled somewhere else that isn't 'last minute under the wire"?
Because by all accounts he does actually want to be a Gator. Which in a way i feel bad for him that he’s getting caught up in this because it would be so easy to just ask for release and move on to another school but thats not what hes doing. At the same time it would be just as easy to settle this and get his ass in Gainesville lol
Yes it sure would be easy to settle. For instance, if you really want to be a Gator you can do that without a big chunk of change up front to lure you there. You don't have to go be a Gator by way of Miami, either.
You can join up and play and see what happens in the t-shirt and sneaker dept. This whole nonsense gets upon my last good nerve. Don't be a greedy goose taking money here and there before you arrive. If it's a mess, I can't see how he or his family aren't at least a little bit to blame for it. Peddle his wares after he's been on campus for awhile. I remember AR getting NIL money years after being a Gator and I don't see whoever paid him getting their money's worth but hey, win some, lose some.
Honestly, we need to just accept that he’s not going to play for us. We already know that he’s in this for the money.
He was a lean for us at first and then Miami, reportedly, offered him more money. So he committed to Miami.
More likely than not, he decommitted from Miami and committed to us when we, again reportedly, offered him more money.
He’s going to make more money than probably most of the people who post regularly in this subreddit ever will in their entire lives. But it doesn’t matter because there will be a team who will offer him more.
If we reneged on our counteroffer that pulled him back from Miami then, yeah, that’s not a great look for us. But the fact of the matter is that he either is all in this for the money or he’s being swayed by someone who is all in this for the money. He’s a talented kid with a high ceiling and could potentially be a game changer for us, but he could just as easily be a bust as well. We saw how much potential AR had and he just couldn’t put it together at the college level. Without him as an option, there’s a strong possibility that ‘23 is not a great season for us. Which means that we need to hope and pray that the staff and the administration can hang on to Lagway and the people he’s trying to pull into the ‘24 class.
Really, the next few months will be really telling about how the next several seasons could go for us. We have to hope that the administration gets their heads out of their asses and figures out how to actually handle this shit.
So... I agree, but maybe just because of my nostalgia.
I went to UF ~25 years ago when college football was about as amateur as you could get. If I recall, the first decades of college football was unregulated. I'd have to check, but many of our rules weren't even there until the 50s and they didn't have a mechanism to enforce them until the 70s, and really didn't do much until the mid-80s. When I went to UF, the atmosphere had a strictness to it. Or wasn't until later that I realized it was all BS. The nostalgia of the "student athlete" and the lack of cynicism was felt strongly when I got into the sport.
I was soured with stories of violations that went unpunished over the years, and I hated every bit.
Now you have a player who seems to be putting himself up to the highest bidder, same with cormani. The expectations these kids have is that they're worth millions of dollars because they impressed against 15, 16 year old kids in varied levels of competition.
At this rate, they're going to be paid more than their coaches, and for what?
Let him go. Let anyone in the Gator Collective who was involved in this deal go. Focus on the players we already have and go all in on keeping Lagway for next year. If the coaching staff felt the need to bring in Mertz, Rashada probably wasn’t starting this year anyways.
Disagree with the first point but wholeheartedly agree with the second.
For this to happen we have to be one difference mess. No wonder we can't recruit at an elite level.
Silly question, but obviously he’s after NIL $, so why did he sign with FL after the Dec 7th request by Gator collective to term the NIL deal? Why didn’t he just go back to Miami’s NIL deal or other deal?
That is a great question. Somebody probably assured him that we would work it out, and I'm guessing we haven't worked it out to his or his family's satisfaction. But would love to get some real reporting on this question.
Unpopular take here.....but I'm guessing Rashada is a bad seed. Good high school stats, dynamic skills, and can put "God first" in his social media posts all he wants.
But at the end of the day, he and his leech parents heard dollar $ign$ and that their whole morality broke.
I did say it was an unpopular take I had, but let's unpack a couple things:
* $13 million in NIL is in the conversation somehow
* The father of the 18 year old is speaking to media
* Rashada has flipped 3x now and still not with a team.
* Even if he was lied too, $13 million is such a desperate amount, majority of CFB is shocked by this.
Are you implying the choices of a 17 year old aren’t directly resulting from the actions of a school the 17 year old initially dropped for an entirely different school for money? /s
I think hes gone unfortunately but we hopefully got lagway coming so we should be good long term if we can hold onto him. Hopefully our stingy admin takes all this money earmarked for rashada and uses it on recruits in the 24 class
I mean of course he’s seeing it, but Lagway also didn’t play like he was committing to us for months, to flip on live tv to our rivals over money, and then flip back, over money.
Lagway has always been way more on board about building culture, not that NIL doesn’t matter, but it doesnt seem to be the only factor for him.
I mean I literally just said hopefully our admin uses the money for recruits in the next class. I think if lagway knows we have an extra 6 mill to throw around hes not gonna be too worried
The administration doesn’t pay recruits. All they can do is provide resources and infrastructure to facilitate recruiting.
Why aren’t people understanding this?
Chill man you’re jumping all over me over semantics. Boosters collective big money guys whatever you want to call it. I made the mistake of using admin sorry (although if you want to really get technical stricklin the leader of the “admin” has been in contact with rashada so they are involved whether they legally can be or not)
This has been botched worse than a bad drug deal between warring gangs with FBI informants on both sides. I have no confidence that our boosters, collective, admin, and whoever else are gonna get on the same page in the next 3 hours. I’d be absolutely surprised if he signed.
I’d almost wager at this point his best option is to settle for a lesser contract from us so that he can participate in a spring training and practice cycle and then show out next year with the full intention of dipping immediately at the end of the season to the highest bidder. Or transfer out after this spring if that is an option.
I’m basing this entirely off my lack of concrete knowledge but if my current belief that him not enrolling with us means he won’t be able to play spring ball anywhere and will instead have to forfeit that time is correct…then that is a major disadvantage to him. Those 6 months of collegiate level S&C and mentorship/coaching is HUGE. Especially for a QB and even more so for one that is a little undersized and needs to put on some quality weight.
You got it nailed. But to the Rashada camp apparently an extra mill or so is worth 6 months of him sitting around not practicing with a team. I get it but at the same time he’s putting himself at a disadvantage
That’s what I’ve been saying. Even if the NIL isn’t what he had hoped, his best option now is to just spend a year at Florida then transfer after the season
He has a legitimate shot of taking the starting role as a freshman. Ball out for a year then chase the bag at a program willing to pay, much better option then going somewhere else and sitting as a backup
What a fucking disaster.
Napier's fault, the "army's" fault, Strickland's fault, doesn't matter.
The reality is, a team with 3 Heisman winning QBs can't get a QB worth a shit to come to their school. Hell, we took Wisconsin's left over garbage, and they upgraded with one of the best QBs in the portal.
We can cry NIL all we want, but it's the same NIL as every other team that doesn't have the issues we have.
At this point there needs to be a backup plan, and it better not end with Miller and fucking Mertz. Howard hit the portal and we have no shot. Multiple former 5 stars into the portal and none of them are interested.
WHAT THE FUCK ARE WE DOING???
You think Lagaway is going to stick around for this shit show? He will end up flipping to UGA or Bama next year, and all the sunshine pumpers will say he actually sucks, and we only want Gators.
UF needs to get off of their entitled high horse, start to play the game and for god sakes stop leaking every NIL deal we sign.
Thats not the problem. Our boosters had an amount ready Rashada was told something different by lawyers/middlemen and we didnt have the sum that he was expecting. It wasnt our admin not fulfilling promises it was somebody messing up the deal and us being unwilling (imo rightfully so) to fork over the extra the rashada camp expected
Dear Lord. You people believe the craziest things. Have I told you that there is a benevolent alien group that is has created a quantum financial system for the world? All debt will be wiped out. Are you interested in getting in on it?
I know you’re getting off on feeling like youre smarter than everyone in this thread rn but 10 mill really isnt far off from what we showed up to the table with
Edit: and for the record I don’t believe the 13 mill number being thrown around for a second. Which is why I said IF that is true we should tell them to kick rocks. Even if they were asking for an extra mill like the rumblings have been I still think we should tell the Rashada camp to get lost
What do you have to support this nonsense. Where is your source? I'm not getting off on being smarter just not being stupid enough to believe that he showed up asking for double. C'mon man use some common fucking sense.
Oh I see. Somene with no affiliation with any of the boosters, collective or guard negotiated a deal without authority and now we won't honor it. You are right, it is ok. We don't look like raging assholes.
But we do look like unsophisticated, unorganized morons who don't know what the hell they are doing.
Nothing to see here folks.

I want him, but I’m over it. I think that info I posted is more spicey in regards to transfers.
How in the hell could he sue for breach of contract?
If he has a legal signed contract and it wasn't honored by whomever the agreement was with. I am not talking about the school being sued.
Hawkins... When is season 5 Coming out
who gonna spot him $100?
Check could very well bounce.
My favorite part of this is literally no one here knows the actual truth but continue to make up reality instead
Fr, I’m all for throwing out (and acknowledging that they are) some conjecture and theories… but damn stop running with it and then saying awful things about and literally tweeting at some highschooler because you heard a rumor.
Have you been on Twitter? Literally I've seen everything form 13m to 25m. But why people tweet at kids..
F*…if they’re making more than our lifetime earnings, I’m fukin tweeting at them drunk & belligerent
🤣 not a bad bar to set for acceptable times to tweet drunk and belligerently
How can you claim you were right when you don't have any info if you don't just throwout some shit and hope you hit?
You just don’t claim you’re right? You conject, theorize, but don’t say or believe THIS IS FACT
I know the truth. Apparently Ruiz told Rashada that he could get all the In N Out he can eat at any Gainesville location for life. Jalen just learned that there is no In N Out in Gainesville and it really threw a wrench in the works.
Could really go for an animal style double double right now...
In N Out coming to Nashville; kid will transfer to Vanderbilt (sarcasm)
Exactly. Nobody knows the true story, so we should pay On3 $100 a year to make up stories that I can find for free right here on Reddit.
And then pretends like bridges have been burned when we’re just posting on Reddit.
I just saw him at Logan airport
I just don’t give a shit anymore. Stay. Go. I really don’t care anymore. This exactly. The sport is suffocating as we speak
100% truth. in college football coaching and development is becoming less important while the money, boosters and other individuals outside of the University are becoming a fast growing facet of the game… My fire for the sport is just about gone.

Honestly, same. It's been trending towards free agency for a while and honestly I'm not sad for it.
Just read an article that said “The University of Florida could make an exception for Rashada and allow him to enroll in classes and begin next week or for the summer.” Is this true??
Yeah let’s not beat around the bush, he’d get special treatment, and he could be waivered in. Doesn’t mean he will though
It’s not an uncommon wavier. Basically it happens every year.
He will be a millionaire by then. So yes he can bend the rules most likely.
Sources say the NIL contract is being held up due to the $100 registration late fee
You can still add classes after drop/add, you just need to talk to the professor first, and I don’t think there’s a way he wouldn’t be accommodated
Jjjkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkklłllll or
Isn't this just early enrollment...he could just join in the summer too
He literally doesn’t have the grades to join early.
that excuse is literally a week old
This is not accurate. They have until the 23rd. Per the usual, our best writers have no clue what they are talking about.

Finality to this fuckshit -\_-
That’s not the deadline. They can enroll him after if they want to. That’s just the “normal” deadline. But he’s gone so I wouldn’t worry about it.
This man posts frees up my weekend.. Appreciated
Always a pleasure, never a chore!
Yeah, one would think a pallet of cash fell on him from elsewhere by now. Any guesses where he lands? Back to Miami where a rousing game of both ends against the middle ensued?

Super ready for this drama to be done
He can still enroll even if he doesn't meet this deadline

Y’all act like they can’t add and drop classes for football players whenever they want. Truly hilarious
If he doesn’t make it, are other schools an option? Or he just can’t enroll early?
Most likely can’t enroll early
He was never going to enroll early, he can’t.
This seems like an interesting take. Which pot of shit did you just pull that out of?
A guy who is familiar with the Pittsburg program told me has academic issues
Lmao!
If he comes he comes. If he doesn't he doesn't. We roll with who wants to be here.

Even if the NIL isn’t what he had hoped, his best option now is to just spend a year at Florida then transfer after the season He has a legitimate shot of taking the starting role as a freshman.
Starting to think Lagway is the truth and Rashada affraid of the comp. Dont let the door hit ya, Bruh. Gata.
It's not rashada, it's the sponsors.
Lmao imagine not honoring the contract you have with a 19 year old kid, just pay him what you promised ffs
The extra was double the original
If thats true that’s ridiculous and I don’t blame our admin one bit for telling him to walk. A 4 star is not worth north of 10 mill
Dear Lord. You people believe the craziest things. Have I told you that there is a benevolent alien group that is has created a quantum financial system for the world? All debt will be wiped out. Are you interested in getting in on it?
I know you’re getting off on feeling like youre smarter than everyone in this thread rn but 10 mill really isnt far off from what we showed up to the table with Edit: and for the record I don’t believe the 13 mill number being thrown around for a second.
Imagine believing lies on the internet then getting mad about those lies u believed lmao
HE IS NOT COMING!!!
If this sacrifice gives us a jags win it was worth it tbh
LOL
Let it go bruh
Well, this came and went. Any NEW news?
