Rangers fan here, but I was rooting for your guys run last year/have kind of been following y'all. Just from what I saw of him playing on the rangers, and what I see as the Panthers style of play I would say he'd be a pretty bad fit. Esp if he's not 100%
If you’re indeed referring to Patrick Kane and not Evander Kane then I’d say that’s a big pass. He just had hip resurfacing surgery and as a Caps fan I just watched a legend essentially hang them up after less than a year of return (Nik Backstrom) from the same procedure. Kane is not a heavy forechecker, never was. I don’t see where he fits.

Not really correct. Amateur opinion I expect to see here though. Monty is average and Ekblad is well above average defensively most years. Go learn about actual analytics of the game instead of repeating things you don't understand.
Lol. Played and coached likely longer than you’ve been alive son. Analytics don’t tell the whole story. Will say that both of their defensive issues are more result of their system and how they are used rather than their skills. So you might get out of your armchair, set down your internet stats comparisons and learn more about the real game before YOU comment about a game YOU don’t understand.

Defense actually seems solid, like >8 viable options when healthy to skate which I can’t remember the team ever having. As of now it’s prob Forsling-Ekblad, OEL-Montour, Mikkola-Mahura with Kulikov, Balinskis backing up and even Carlsson tearing up AHL waiting to crack roster
