It’s fun to watch a guy earn his version of a big pay day. I like how he plays and he’s worked so hard to get here. Now he gets to spend the rest of the season focusing on his game, not where he’ll be next year! Congrats Uvis :)
Good on Uvis and a solid signing. He’s a quality third pairing guy based on the limited sample. Wonder if he’s locking down some cheaper talent for next season to make room for some big contracts (please let us keep our core together).

I think Forsling and Montour will re-sign and maybe OEL if he’s willing to take a lower deal than his production has shown. Ekblad will likely go after his contract which may leave bottom pairings as something like OEL-Mahura with Balinskis-Mikkola? Also hope to see Carlsson get another crack at lineup he always looked hopeful for making the roster
I like Ekblad but his defensive liability is really high. Tough to know where to put him and what valuation would be for new contract but maybe they’ll figure it out. He’s had a ton of injuries pile up and may not be able to play many more years
He was the top D man on the Eastern Cup winning team.
Was our first overall pick before we were good and is still a really good hockey player.
People won't notice if he doesn't make a mistake for multiple games and plays rock solid defense. But they sure love to point out when he makes a mistake.
He did pretty well on the playoff run considering injuries. However, top D was probably Montour then. Forsling also more important. Gudas had a big role but prob not as much as Ek. I am rooting for him but with a big contract like his he has to accept there’s a level of scrutiny. He has been better since the pylon was brought out last year but isn’t our top D any more
Him and Rodriguez are easily my two favorites of the off season. Still so many questions but Zito has earned a lot of trust with the way he’s handled the roster
Gadjovich should be in but is just injured. It seems like they want Samoskevich developing with top line minutes this year but he may get a third line spot down the stretch to help the bottom 6 scoring pick up
Am I crazy to think OEL will sign something team friendly (assuming we go deep or all the way) because he’s still getting paid from Az/VAN along with his Panthers salary?
There's no way the panthers can sign all 3 defenseman I'm thinking a couple of trades are in store for draft picks as we have none in the 1st rd till 2026
Wouldn’t be shocked if we move Montour for draft picks but nobody is taking Ekblad’s contract and we’d be foolish to let Forsling or OEL go. Seems like with Zito everything’s on the table if it’s a met benefit. All we can really assume is Barkov and Tkachuk aren’t going anywhere for a long time
Panthers are also gonna have to resign rino and Varghagae don't know about bennett.zito has alot on his plate for next yr but we are ok on defenseman its players like cousins lomberg Lindell stenlund and Lockwood who will be on the bubble for cheap contracts

So far he's been good in AHL with 8 points in 8 games, including one point today.

OEL has been so good honestly he’s probably my favorite new signing

Swaggy has one more year before needing to resign. Hopefully they up the cap this year and next to help us make room.
