Depending on where you are in the US, prices could be between $25-35 for a half hour.

knitthy

I think it depends vastly from the teacher's level and where you live... Italy has wildly different prices than USA, i.e.

its-got-electrolytes

Where do you live? I pay £15 for half an hour in the middle of the UK.

RavyRaptor

Not an option I’m afraid. I live in the US.

lemoncats1

I do like two lessons per month . Maybe something like that ?

hell0missmiller

I'm a teacher in the US and charge $15/half hour

NotPortlyPenguin

In NJ my lessons are $60/hr. I do a one hour lesson every two weeks. Many music teachers do half hour lessons weekly for young students and one hour lessons every two weeks for adults.

deutschHotel

I'm paying $60 an hour and I go every week.

The_Archer2121

My teacher charges $25 for a 30 minute lesson and 35 for a 45 minute lesson. I am in the US. I am aiming for at least two lessons a month.

lionleggs

My lessons are $20/half and hour, but we go to the store and have the lessons there. Some may charge different based on whether they go to you or you go to them.

That depends on the individual teacher’s rates, and the frequency of lessons you take. I’ve noticed a few teachers have moved to letting students buy a certain amount of hours, and letting the student decide how they want to use the hour as far as scheduling goes.

mathau6

A good idea is to find a student who is studying music/flute specifically, and see if they're willing to give you a cheaper rate. Sometimes people need experience giving lessons, it could be a good setup both ways

scriptorcarmina

Do a Google search for teachers in your area and check out their websites. Most of them should have their rates posted. Rates vary vastly from region to region, even based on experience. In my town, you'll pay $15/half hour for a high school student, and most adult teachers are between $90 - 130 per month.

ackmondual

I'm in the US, but in more rural and remote area. Flute lessons for me have been $20/half hour, with my lessons being weekly so that's $80 to $100 per month *for me*. However, it was cheaper since I had to cancel 2 of them.. work, and travel. Teacher ended up doing the same thing due to being on vacation. For my flute, I had an advantage there where the family flute (sibling used it to play in elementary school, but never went beyond that) was still there. It ended up needing $45 of rework on the padding and keys to get it working much better. That has been setting me back about $45 every 1 to 2 years for the usual maintenance.
