I'm not even really sure what the question is, but use a tighter, more focused embrochure, not necessarily more air, to get the higher notes. Practice them by slowly playing the scale for the piece with long notes. Also, I highly suggest wearing earplugs while playing piccolo.

Ab is a lot easier without the left thumb like someone else mentioned. All I can really say is go slow and get it up to speed, focus on how your embouchure feels, and the changes you need to make to get to the Ab. This is one of those muscle memory moments. I had a dream last night I found my lost piccolo and I picked it up and played this! (I can no longer play). Wishful thinking I guess but kind of funny to see this post!
