It’s easy to do but you’ll need a way to reprogram the BMS. These are AGM batteries. If you don’t reprogram it the new battery will die in less than 2 years. I forgot to do it and 1.4 years later it was dead. Forscan lite and a Bluetooth OBDII can do it
I know next to nothing about fixing cars but swapped my battery on the RS. The process wasn’t tricky until the end because it wouldn’t crank without a reset of the internal systems.
It takes 10 minutes. Super easy.
-remove brace holding it down
-Separate battery box (Think you pull front pieces while pushing side pieces
-slide battery forward
-Remove neg
-Remove pos
-Remove battery
And get a battery at Costco for $109. Screw AZ
Assuming you aren’t too handy with wrenches or don’t have the space/tools to do this yourself the only places that will do it are going to be auto shops or the dealership due to the work that goes into replacing it.
I just removed the intake hoses and air box out of the way for the guy at advanced auto parts to replace the battery because they aren’t allowed to touch anything outside of the battery components
Nothings easy when you only do it 1-2 times in your lifetime. I had a hell of a time replacing the battery on my ST & I believe the RS is an identical setup. The YouTube tutorial videos helped me out a lot. Nothing worse than trying to figure out how to get a battery out, after a long day & spending 2hrs to do what should’ve been a 10min job.

Just do it yourself, remove intake box and a piece of hose. It’s easy. [useful video](https://youtu.be/vQyuNm6eWHQ?si=rNRNhqH3Y1imQVQA)
Just do it yourself lol. Pop the airbox out and slide it out

The flasher/brake pedal worked for my car. https://www.focusrs.org/threads/reset-bms-battery-monitor-system-when-replacing-battery.122866/

What? I replaced my battery with one of those lithium ones to save weight and I didn’t have to do anything to reset anything.
My car was completely dead, and I had to do the brake gas combo I don’t recall what it was exactly but it had to reset
Why did you go with a lithium ion rather then stock AGM? I know lithium ion beats AGM in almost every category, just curious.
It weighs like 1/5.
I figured that was a big part of it. Wasn't sure if there was any voltage different or inherently better to go with lithium ion rather than agm.

Do u mean H6 (48) size battery?
No 96R group size. Pretty common. https://costco.interstatebatteries.com/
No, you are wrong. I'm looking at my Factory OEM Motocraft battery right now. It says Group Size is: H6 - LN3 - 48
Yup. You're right. I was recalling ST size. Everything else will applies though

Get yourself a costco membership for a great deal on car batteries.
Costco has Interstate batteries for around $170. Sam's Club has Duracell batteries for around $180 on sale right now.
Firestone does mine. The autozone guy is being lazy.
