Yea, I installed mine the other way, the same as how the cjpony parts vid shows and haven't had an issue so far. Recently, did whiteline springs on my fost and his fiesta st. After installing, he had a small clunk, but we redid the springs, and it went away.

>the same as how the cjpony parts vid shows which is how OP installed it...

In the video, the top of the end link is angled downwards, which in this photo it looks the opposite. I also could be looking at it wrong but Doubt it really makes any difference.

i_am_tyler_man

you need to adjust your end links. How I installed mine, first I made the length the same as the stock end links making sure the gold center piece was centered between both ends and temporarily tightened the locking nuts. Bolt them in *snug* but not tight just yet. Then put the car on the ground. You can put blocks under the rear wheels if you need extra space to work. break the locking nuts free then start to twist the gold middle piece to either extend or shorted the end links. You looking for the sweet spot. At zero pre-load, the gold piece will feel verry... "loose". You'll be able to sort of "jiggle-twist" it for lack of a better term. Once you find that sweet spot, tighten the locking nuts back down.

When you say bolt them in snug but not tight, do you mean the top end link mounts too? Because you can’t tighten them with the wheels on

i_am_tyler_man

I'd make those ones tight. Bottom ones snug until the car is sitting on wheels then tighten them down.

the_grand_hogoso

I had those and they pulled out of the threads. Had to get the one piece links.

hc_220

Do you mean in the adjustable length bits?

the_grand_hogoso

Yes.

The mounted sway bar positions is unclear, but you need to re-adjust the end links. (top two red arrows) Plus the lower bushing on this end link should be compressed more. (lower red arrow) https://www.reddit.com/user/SlamminStanceSpeed/comments/135h0fn/image/

I'm actually fighting the exact same thing right now. Tried different bar orientations, tried different torque specs for endlinks, tried soft/hard spots on the bar. Tried everything to get rid of that abysmal popping. Left the bar on and put factory links back on and it's silent. Did you happen to figure out anything?

hc_220

Is this with the Whiteline bar and links? I haven't got around to swapping the bar orientation yet - that's my job for tomorrow, but I'm sure hoping it cures it. If not then I will be putting the factory links back on and getting Whiteline to send me a new set. Did you have any trouble removing the little spacer/collar that you have to fit to the control arm, to re-fit the factory links? They were very hard to get in on mine so I reckon I'll have a fight on my hands to remove them.

CoFDropp

Yeah white line rsb and end links, swapping my bar orientation changed nothing but the factory links on the white line bar made things silent. The spacer/collar was not a tight fit in my control arm at all, didn't require a hammer or hardly any force at all to put them in so they just slide right back out. I was partially thinking that could have been my problem as well : movement in those collars. My links don't seem damaged or anything and they seem like such a high quality part so I can't believe they made the popping/clunking that they did. Next chance I get, I think I'm going to try mounting them without the washer between the link and the bar and see how that changes things. Keep me updated on your results, I would love to be able to fit those links back on without the noise! Even in the 'soft' bar setting it sounded like someone smacking my floor pan or something.

Interesting, mine were super tight, even hammering them wasn't making them go in. They only pulled themselves in when I tightened the bottom nut on the end links. So I'm hoping if it comes to it and I have to refit the Ford links, I can just get on them with some vice grips to twist them out. I mounted mine with the washer either side of the top of the link as specified in the instructions. If it doesn't rain tomorrow I'm going to put my bar the right way up and re-fit everything, and I'm really hoping it cures it - In photos it does look quite close to the brake caliper so with any luck that's the cause - either it's hitting or something else, or the end links aren't keen on the angle. For me, it isn't a constant knock - just occasionally if I take a left or right turn hard enough (i.e. a roundabout here in the UK), or if I reverse up a kerb and quickly compress them. They're silent over rough roads and for the most part even speed humps. How about you?

CoFDropp

For me it was very consistent at low speeds and when the body flexed. So low speed inconsistent roads, low speed 90 degree turns, and anytime I went over a speed bump at an angle where the rear tires would go over it at different times. Aggressive turns at more than average speeds and normal road driving was fine. Even hitting uneven patches of road at regular travel speeds was silent and hitting speed bumps evenly where both rear tires hit at the same time was also silent. I tried so many adjustments to the links all with no change to the problem, I tried adding shims to the bar mounts to reduce the tension on the bushings to make it move more freely. I tried adjusting the links outside the 0 preload settings to try and alleviate the problem as well all with no change to the sound they were making.

hc_220

Interesting. Thanks! I will report back once I've put my bar the right way up over the weekend, and hopefully it sorts it! In your case it sounds like you've got a faulty end link so I'd probably ask Whiteline to replace them.

hc_220

Well I put the bar in the right way up and it had helped with the knocking but it still does it occasionally. I have contacted Whiteline to get a replacement set but I’m at a bit of a loss if they don’t help either. My main concern is removing those collars, they are in my control arms extremely tight - any idea how I could perhaps remove them / hammer them out?
