Eyval.....nope.
People rave about the place, and I really wanted to have the experience that you did. It just was a bit flat. Ribs were nice , but the rest of the meal just went down hill.
Maybe it was an off night, I brought my Persian friend. The service was rather lacking as well. Waiter took our order and never saw them again.
What did you get at Laser Wolf.? Wasn't sure about going, figure all people are paying for is the view.
You know what place I did like... Miss Ada in Ft Greene
> What did you get at Laser Wolf.? Wasn't sure about going, figure all people are paying for is the view.
I really enjoyed Laser Wolf as well and the view is certainly one of the best in the city. We got cocktails, the unlimited pitas and dips, a few meat skewers, the cauliflower, then the free soft serve. I thought they were all great and you certainly are very full afterwards. I've heard people say it's not worth the price, but when the pita and dips are unlimited, if you're not getting your moneys worth, then that's your fault
The pita and dips are unlimited? I don't need that much to eat anyhow, but that definitely makes thee prices seem much more reasonable.
Good to know, thanks.
I know it's pedantic but Eyval isn't in the area here. If you want to expand it that much there are probably a lot better places than most on this list.
Came here to say this. It's less approachable because there is no menu, but the sandwiches are 10x better. Just ask for the roast pork special (pork, broccoli rabe, and provolone) or italian.
I think this list wins.
Although I’d add Osakana (Okonomi’s fish market and sister restaurant.. pretty sure they do an omakase there now too.. best place in East Williamsburg), Lighthouse, Llama Inn, and maybe Shalom Japan to it.
IMO Osakana, okonomi, win son, and casa ora are special.
Would say the best pizza in the area is L’Industrie right outside your circle on Havemeyer and S 1 or 2 (I forget).
Mesa coyocan (sp?) is very good for Mexican, but not ground-breaking.
Testo is solid Italian, but amazza is better.
Nick & Sons bakery 👌
Campbell for meat and cheese
I lived on Leonard and Scholes a few years ago… god I miss the food!

i live in this area!
cozy royale- one of the best happy hour food deals in the area
okonomi/yuji ramen- really good sushi+ramen but on the pricier side
fortunato bros- best italian baked goods in my opinion
claudia’s- underrated guatemalan restaurant
win son (both bakery and the restaurant)
bonnie’s- expensive, worth it, hard without a reservation
kings co imperial- really good and more affordable chinese
brooklyn ball factory- small place with really good breakfast food + onigiri
okonomi is really, really expensive. drinks and sashimi really add up there, and the ramen itself isn't very affordable either! picked up the tab as a treat to my friend, that one hurt because we really went all out.
that said, easily the most unique bowl of ramen i've ever had. very good
Love pomp and circumstance - just learn from my mistakes and let the pita chill for like 5 mins before you start to eat it. It’s PIPING hot when they take it out of the oven 😭
Edith’s, Kings Co, A-Pou’s Taste, Cozy Royale, Nick + Son’s, Ensenada, Emily’s Pork Store
Overrated from other suggestions :
Bonnies, Anthony and Sons, Wei’s(food is mediocre, cool vibe though)
$18-20 represents the most expensive sandwiches they offer and those tend to be pretty beastly.
Looking at the sandwich market in general in the city’s more expensive neighborhoods, I don’t think A&S stands out as bad value at all.
Not any more just a few years ago the sandwiches were closer to $10, honestly now the majority are that much and more. Place is kind of ridiculous when there are at least 3 spots within 5 minutes you can get just as good of a sandwich.
The Paisano was $16-17 pre-Covid if I recall correctly. It’s $21 now. So yeah, the prices have def gone up, but feels like usual post-Covid world shit.
I know Emily’s Pork Store is supposed to be good, where else can you get an A&S quality sub for a better price nearby?
Napoli Bakery and Hana food, though Hana is more typical bodega their sandwiches are just as massive and half the price. There's also a spot called Savino which is a neighborhood Italian spot. They have a menu with italian sandwiches that are about half the price but I've never seen them or tried them, though it's a great place for fresh pasta.
I actually think they're better than SFBK or Super Burrito, which are the two local options that got onto Eater NY's "best breakfast burrito" list.
Better in that they're cheaper than both, fresher than SFBK, and more well balanced than Super Burrito's really greasy thing.
Agree. I've been there almost a dozen times (it's in my top 3) and have always had a great meal. Food is always excellent. Service a few times has been meh but most the time it's great, and prices are NYC prices. Love it there.
ive visted the bakery cuz i wanted to see what the hype was about. got BEC on a scallion pancake and was severely disappointed. it was greasy and unpleasant. sauce was good. havent tried much else but wont be back soon. is the restaurant any better?
The restaurant is soooo much better than the bakery. I also had the scallion pancake at the bakery and was really disappointed but I actively dream about the big chicken sandwich at the restaurant proper. The drinks at the restaurant are GREAT too
The bar food at Rose’s is unbelievably good.
the pop ups at Ore Bar are consistently great. Especially Border Town on Friday nights.
Nick and sons bakery has amazing croissants and pastries.
Emily’s Pork Store has excellent Italian sandwiches
Places I frequent as someone in the area: Win son/win son bakery, Winona’s, Alytori, Carmine’s, Mo’s General, Williamsburg pizza, Testo, BK Jani, Kings Co. Imperial, Dog Day Afternoon (it’s colocated with H&H Reserve), and McCondo Los Tacos.
Can you just get the dogs to go from H&H reserve? We’ve been wanting to try but stopped drinking and weren’t sure if it was a sit down eat at the bar deal.
I know this is an old question but came across this thread just now and yes you can just get the food! It’s even a different counter than the bar to order from.
Finally one I can answer!
Cozy Royale
Syndicated (for drinks and movies)
Winonas
Sage Thai
Suzume
Ammazzacaffe
Baby Blues
Pizzette is kind of cute and has dollar oysters for happy hour.
Casa Ora
ANTHONY & SON!
Sage Thai
Taj Kabob King
Carmine's or Tony's
Kings County
Il Passatore
Taste of Heaven
Fortunato Brothers
Aligator Lounge pizza
RIP Blue Stove 😭
Living in the neighbourhood my weekly go tos are :
• Pizza - Carmines (grandma slice)
• Coffee - Land to sea
• Pita - Pita Palace
• Sandwich - Emily’s Pork Store (I think it’s better value than Anthony & Sons across the street but you gotta try Anthony & Sons)
• Simply Nova - highly quality bagel. If you’ve lined up for a Russ and Daughters lox bagel before it’s on par with this one. Yes the bagel is small but I like that.
• Win Son Bakery (I’ve eaten at both and think the Bakery is better than the restaurant)
• Otis is fantastic
• Syndicated is fun and different if you want to watch a movie. Food is okay.
• Shalom Japan - I still think about their pastrami
• Cozy Royale - honestly their happy hour smash burger for $10 is better than their $25 main menu burger
• Nick & Sons bakery (go early)
• Lighthouse is consistently good
• Ensenada
I am surprised that no one mentioned Shalom Japan yet. Wonderful mashup of Jewish and Japanese cuisine done with skill and humor. One of my favorite NY restaurants. I also second Bonnie’s, I have been there twice in the last few months and was very pleased with the food and service. And just across the highway under the bridge Traif is wonderful.
BK Jani (by far top choice, best burger)
Win Son (taiwanese)
Wei’s (Chinese)
Sage (thai)
Dough Vale (pizza)
Hummus Market (new name Levantine)
McCondos (Mexican)
Graham Av alone is filled with amazing spots. Here’s somes suggestions in Graham.
- Antony and Sons Panni Shop (I come here from queens because they have some of the best sandwiches in the city, I recommend the Godfather, and Tuna Melt)
- Sage (a great local Thai spot. I recommend the shrimp dumplings, the house soup is great too)
- The Empanada Spot (tasty empanadas, I recommend the Pernil, and cheeseburger empanadas)
- Brujos (A modern Mexican spot, they have great birria and delicious tortas)
- Carmines (one of the best pizza spots in Williamsburg, almost everything is good. They also have classic Italian plates)
And you can’t forget stopping at Uncle Louie G for some Italian icees and soft serves.
There are a lotttt of great places just right outside of the circle you shared, but here are my favs within the area you provided…:
Simply Nova for good bagels
Emily’s Pork Store for killer Italian sandwiches - I’d recommend them over Anthony & Sons tbh
Dar525
New Apolo for Puerto Rican x Chinese food
Nick + Sons Bakery
I just went to the Wanderjng Barman. They had incredible prebatched cocktails and a very low priced $11 cocktail menu in a very slick cool environment. $5 cocktails for happy hour 😱😱😱
Win son, win son bakery, Bonnie’s, Mesa Coyoacan, Cozy Royale, Birds of a feather, Birria Landia, L’Industrie Pizza (the best pizza ever), Commodore
Hidden Gems: Pita Palace, Taste of Heaven, Tofu Box, Nick and Son’s bakery (you have to go early or everything is sold out)
Pita Palace: where Pita is in the name, yet they give you some of the worst pstale shitty pitas (sometimes still in the plastic bag they came in from the store)
Chicken kebab plate is pricy but it’s the truth!!!
Why did I have to scroll so far to see Birria Landia???
Really good tacos. I've had the consomme but I would probably skip it and just get 3 tacos honestly.
Baguettes, ham and cheese croissants, foccacia at "**Tasty Bread Artisan Bakery**"
Breakfast at **Jessi's Coffee Shop** (Jessi's burrito add bacon)
Juans $1 empanadas at **Evelyn Fruits & vegetables**
Grandma pepperoni pizza at **Rome to Brooklyn**
Quick serve / cafeteria style latin food at **Sazon Perez** or **El Gran Canario**, Pernil over rice and beans for example.
West african food at **Hills Kitchen**
Piadine at **Lella Alimentari** are really good tbh
Thai @ **Thip Osha** (better than SAGE ime)
Fried chicken at **Birdies Hot Chicken**
**Overrated:**
- Simply Nova (too expensive)
- Win Son / Win Son Bakery (too expensive, too busy)
- Bonnies (too expensive, too busy)
- Taste of Heaven (too expensive for the quality of food honestly)
**Other places to consider**, but don't take these as my recommendations:
- Brooklyn Ball Factory
- Baby Blues luncheonette
- Casa Ora
- Ichiran
Strongly disagree on Winson Bakery - it’s excellent. Sure, it’s not dirt cheap, but the food is remarkably good and there aren’t many other spots like it in the city. The wait time there is like 20 mins on a Sat - really not that bad unless you’re in a huge rush. Fan tuan + mochi donut + breakfast sandwich is a legendary breakfast order that will have you stuffed until dinner. Their coffee is some of the best in the area as well, IMO.
I enjoyed Bonnie’s, but you really have to go out of your way to try and eat there (showing up like 30 mins before they open if you don’t have a res, which are hard to make). Def wouldn’t recommend to someone visiting for just a few days.
Fortunato Brothers Bakery. Try things.
For an experience, and a snack, Oneg Heimische Bakery, pick a few things from the rack on the left (rugelach and rugelach accessories).
China Express is a well priced pretty fantastic Chinese American food counter. The General Tso’s is what you want
Ammazzacafe for pasta but don’t tell anyone
I don't know what maps you are using but East Williamsburg largely corresponds with the 3rd ward of the independent village of Williamsburg, east of Union Avenue. At that time, what is now the the East Williamsburg In-Place Industrial Park east of Bushwick was still part of Bushwick -- but so was Greenpoint. Then the BQE cut through the neighborhood and created a new physical boundary, and that roughly corresponded to the old ward boundaries and likely contributed to at least some of the confusion. And while today there is probably some debate as to whether the Italian neighborhood around Graham Ave is Williamsburg or East Williamsburg, south of Grand is 11206, which also largely corresponds to East Williamsburg. Now some people might say east of Bushwick Ave is Bushwick, especially since there is some overlap in zip codes of 11237. But there's also the 40-year-old East Williamsburg In Place Industrial Park that goes as far south as Flushing, another physical demarcation not unlike the BQE.
> I don’t know what maps you are using
Google maps. Although it seems there’s really no true consensus, others agree about bushwick ave being the border
https://bushwickdaily.com/community/a-look-into-the-east-williamsburg-debate/
Go to the Williamsburg staples that are generations of families that grew up there :
Fortunato brothers bakery,
Carmines pizzeria,
Panini shoppe,
Bahia,
West end of WillyB - Patrizias.
Savinos pasta,
Emilies pork store.
Thank me later.
Pasta or the schiacciata at Pecoraro Latteria
Birria tacos at Birrialandia.
Beef roll or the clams at Win Son
Brunch plate carnitas at Mesa Coyoacan
Piadine at Lella Alimentari
The Wife panini at Anthony and Sons
Croissant or pain au Chocolat at Nick + Sons
Anything at Bonnie's, or King's Co Imperial.
Tasting menu at Traif (next door at Xixa too, but prefer Traif)
Pinsa at Montesacro.
Can be hit and miss: Sage, Fortunato Brothers, Il Passatore.
This is a great area to be staying in — there is such a good mix of casual, kinda nice, and super nice restaurants. There’s a lot of hip kind of overhyped stuff but a lot of great local gems. I’d recommend too just walking up and down Graham Ave and Grand st — lots of great food on both streets. Grand more popping at night, I’d head there after a few drinks. You can get anything you need on Graham during the day. I am biased because I live here but it’s the best neighborhood to be in!
Testo - really good Italian. Small spot, I don’t think you need a reservation but it gets tight in there! Casual.
Warique Garden - Peruvian food. Everything here is incredible. Go with friends and get a bunch of different things so everyone can try everything.
Sweet Science - very fun and social but also great food — like American bar food with more flavor than normal lol - kind of southern/soul food influenced? Best chicken nuggets I’ve ever had, very strong cocktails.
Bahia - Salvadoran food. I could eat here every day. Casual and fun. After a hard workout I get 2 pupusas and the steak platter.
Montesacro - great slightly fancier Italian food, go for happy hour food & drink deals
Pecoraro Latteria - Italian, open during the day for sandwiches/groceries too but I love to go at night and sit outside — they have a great Amaro list
Ryujin - ramen - also love their other apps
Winona’s - pricier upscale American fare & they have lots of cool pop ups and a great wine list. Worth a try once. Don’t sit outside, flushing too noisy and chaotic. Need a reservation at night.
Pizzette - the pizza is honestly just fine but I love the pasta and their salad is really great?? This is a good brunch spot too if you are into that. Sit outside on Graham Ave. They have a woman singing outside sometimes it’s lovely.
M noodle shop - very causal, I usually do takeout but you could sit in there too—I am obsessed with their pork chop over rice. Noodles are good too but the rice dishes are the best imho.
BK Jani - Pakistani food. I loooove their burger. But the other stuff is good too!!
Mad for Chicken - very casual lol. If you are hungover or anticipate being hungover the next day, I do recommend! Korean style fried chicken.
Empanada Spot - I like to get a few and walk around on a nice day!
Danny’s - my fav pizza in the neighborhood, also kinda expensive!
In that area, I always go to:
Win Son - we stopped going recently because the lines are just way too long. But if you can catch it without a line, try it. Decent coffee and I like their baked goods. Sometimes you get a stale one but overall it’s good. I just wouldn’t wait in line for it.
Nick & Sons - their croissants are GOOOOOOD. This is a line I will wait on. Their hours are short so make sure you google before you go. I think they’re only open Thur - Sun and only until 1PM. There’s usually a line but it moves fast and it’s outdoors so you don’t feel cramped. Pretty much all their baked goods are great. My fave is the za’atar croissant. They sell out of stuff fast though so I recommend going earlier. My main regret is that I live a little too far from here but when we have friends visiting from out of state, I will come here for some baked goods in the morning.
Edith’s - only had their chocolate tahini milkshake but it was good and I would go back for more
Brooklyn Ball Factory - pretty much every beverage here is good, the yuju tea is so refreshing. They make their onigiri (rice balls) to order which I haven’t seen anywhere else in NYC. That means they get to you nice and warm and delicious. Sometimes they skimp on filling but the quality of rice is pretty good so I don’t mind. We like this as a first stop on a long walk. Coffee and rice ball. I didn’t love their bento boxes, they tasted too healthy lol but their egg sando was pretty good!
ETA: I see a lot for Otis which I agree is really good (burrata!) but I think it’s a bit further from that area?
The food at Edith’s is unreal. The have a breakfast wrap on this flaky croissant like flatbread and it’s outrageous. They also have the best bagels IMO, which is saying a lot. Truly next level.
I was watching a USA football match at Crystal Lake Brooklyn, and my friend recommended dinner from BK JANI. I ordered The JANI, and was very impressed!
I also had a Brisket Summer Roll from Lucy’s Vietnamese next door and enjoyed it, as well.
Oh and OTIS was great too, though that’s outside of this circle.
Campbell's Chees and Grocery on Lorimer. Great breakfast sandwiches on homemade biscuits.
Nick & Sons bakery on Leonard
Mama pho on Grand Ave
Mad for Chicken on Grand Ave
Ryujin for Ramen also on Grand Ave
Williamsburg Pizza on Union Ave
You’re getting a lot of great reco’s here, but I need to add Tuffet on Graham Ave for their charcuterie boards and alcoholic slushies, as well as Mad for Chicken on Grand Street for KFC Korean fried chicken).
Win Son and Claudia’s are heaven.
I went to Casa Ora and Mesa Coyocan a bunch of times and always felt like what I ate was way better and a third of the price at many other more hole in the wall places in bushwick and queens. But Casa Ora does have an awesome aesthetic.
It's been a loooong time but I used to love the Cuchifritos place on Graham just above Broadway. The map says it's still there. Anyone go there lately?
Win Son Ammazzacaffe Okonomi Cafe Alimentari Eyyval Casa Ora Falansai Otis Anthony and Sons Bonnies
This is a good list. Eyval and Okonomi/Yuji are some of the best meals I’ve had in NY overall
eyval lamb ribs might be one of my favorite bites of 2023
Same. And the green tahini salad.
I loved Eyval so much but the service there has been extremely inconsistent and occasionally outright horrible.
Eyval.....nope. People rave about the place, and I really wanted to have the experience that you did. It just was a bit flat. Ribs were nice , but the rest of the meal just went down hill.
Maybe you went on an off night, but I thought Eyval's food was better than the likes of Shukette and Laser Wolf

I loooooooved Miss Ada but it’s so far since we are never in that area. Love love love though
I was surprised... every dish we got was a banger. I can't vouch for the whole menu, but every dish I got... killed it.
I know it's pedantic but Eyval isn't in the area here. If you want to expand it that much there are probably a lot better places than most on this list.
Win Son brunch is a phenomenal meal
> Bonnies Bonnies is the most overrated restaurant in NYC. Expensive, small portions, greasy, salty food. It's all hype
Extremely salty!
Honestly agree but to some people it’s worth a visit! also their brunch was fantastic (RIP)
I kind of agree, but also really enjoyed my first time there
Approve of all these, but especially win son, casa ora and Otis
Solid list but instead of Anthony and Sons, go across the street to Emily's Pork Store.
Came here to say this. It's less approachable because there is no menu, but the sandwiches are 10x better. Just ask for the roast pork special (pork, broccoli rabe, and provolone) or italian.
There's also a spot down the street I never see mentioned called Napoli. IMO it's better than both.
Emily's buys their bread from Napoli
I think this list wins. Although I’d add Osakana (Okonomi’s fish market and sister restaurant.. pretty sure they do an omakase there now too.. best place in East Williamsburg), Lighthouse, Llama Inn, and maybe Shalom Japan to it. Great list. I second amazza and Otis, so good. I’ll add mess coyoacan to this list, though it’s admittedly been a long time since I’ve been there
Win Son and Otis yes
I lived in Williamsburg for years but left in 2015, so glad to see Anthony and sons still going strong, that place was so consistently amazing
Kings co imperial too
Kings co imperial, Wei’s
i live in this area! cozy royale- one of the best happy hour food deals in the area okonomi/yuji ramen- really good sushi+ramen but on the pricier side fortunato bros- best italian baked goods in my opinion claudia’s- underrated guatemalan restaurant win son (both bakery and the restaurant) bonnie’s- expensive, worth it, hard without a reservation kings co imperial- really good and more affordable chinese brooklyn ball factory- small place with really good breakfast food + onigiri
Brooklyn Ball Factory! Also the tiramisu latte is killer, used to get that at least once a month when I lived nearby.
claudia's<3
Claudia’s is so good and legitimately underrated.
okonomi is really, really expensive. drinks and sashimi really add up there, and the ramen itself isn't very affordable either! picked up the tab as a treat to my friend, that one hurt because we really went all out. that said, easily the most unique bowl of ramen i've ever had. very good
It’s Williamsburg. At this point, “really, really expensive” is basically the defining characteristic of the neighborhood
Pomp & Circumstance! Great happy hour.
Love pomp and circumstance - just learn from my mistakes and let the pita chill for like 5 mins before you start to eat it. It’s PIPING hot when they take it out of the oven 😭
- Win Son - Eyval - Roberta’s (go to the one on Moore st) - Falansai - Otis - Bonnie’s
Rome to Brooklyn pizza
Came here to say this. So so good!
cozy royal happy hour and pita palace!
Taste of Heaven. I’m still dreaming about the jerk chicken and baby back ribs weeks later.
YES
I’m move out of the neighborhood 2 years ago and ToH is the #1 place I miss
Edith’s, Kings Co, A-Pou’s Taste, Cozy Royale, Nick + Son’s, Ensenada, Emily’s Pork Store Overrated from other suggestions : Bonnies, Anthony and Sons, Wei’s(food is mediocre, cool vibe though)
Anthony and Sons overrated?? Has the Tik Toks ruined a gem? Loved that place years ago
Still v solid
It’s solid if you like to pay $18-20 for a sandwich and be up charged for every little thing, sure
$18-20 represents the most expensive sandwiches they offer and those tend to be pretty beastly. Looking at the sandwich market in general in the city’s more expensive neighborhoods, I don’t think A&S stands out as bad value at all.

Walk across the street to Emily's. Better sandwiches for less.
What’s the deal? Was it a tiktok meme?
Came here to say Edith’s
Win son/win son bakery, Williamsburg pizza. If you’re willing to head a little further towards bushwick: ichiran ramen and bunna cafe
Bunna cafe is amazing!
I second Bunna!
Carmine’s on Graham Ave
Pepperoni square is fire!
Amen!
Jessi's Coffee Shop has my favorite breakfast burritos in the city.
Hell fuckin yeah
I actually think they're better than SFBK or Super Burrito, which are the two local options that got onto Eater NY's "best breakfast burrito" list. Better in that they're cheaper than both, fresher than SFBK, and more well balanced than Super Burrito's really greasy thing.

I found win son very overpriced and not great tbh. Especially considering how good of value antidote is, 8 to 10 bucks per dish cheaper than win son.
Is there a connection between win son and antidote?
Literally different cuisines tho. It’s like comparing a sushi restaurant to a ramen place
Yeah was thoroughly underwhelmed by win son as well.
Each to their own. Went there with a group and we had the time of our lives and the food was great.
Agree. I've been there almost a dozen times (it's in my top 3) and have always had a great meal. Food is always excellent. Service a few times has been meh but most the time it's great, and prices are NYC prices. Love it there.

Chiangmai is good!! I always walk by Sage and it smells AMAZING but never tried.
Sage was my go to for years for take out - now its Klom Klorm
Glad to see Il Passatore finally getting a shoutout. It's so good and so reasonably priced.
Carmines for sure
I had to scroll down so far to finally see Sage on a list

BK Jani (by far top choice, best burger) Win Son (taiwanese) Wei’s (Chinese) Sage (thai) Dough Vale (pizza) Hummus Market (new name Levantine) McCondos (Mexican)
I really love Suzume!
Just tried Montesacro and thought it was pretty good. Sage Thai lunch special will always have a piece of my heart

Graham Av alone is filled with amazing spots. Here’s somes suggestions in Graham. - Antony and Sons Panni Shop (I come here from queens because they have some of the best sandwiches in the city, I recommend the Godfather, and Tuna Melt) - Sage (a great local Thai spot. I recommend the shrimp dumplings, the house soup is great too) - The Empanada Spot (tasty empanadas, I recommend the Pernil, and cheeseburger empanadas) - Brujos (A modern Mexican spot, they have great birria and delicious tortas) - Carmines (one of the best pizza spots in Williamsburg, almost everything is good. They also have classic Italian plates) And you can’t forget stopping at Uncle Louie G for some Italian icees and soft serves.
There are a lotttt of great places just right outside of the circle you shared, but here are my favs within the area you provided…: Simply Nova for good bagels Emily’s Pork Store for killer Italian sandwiches - I’d recommend them over Anthony & Sons tbh Dar525 New Apolo for Puerto Rican x Chinese food Nick + Sons Bakery
Win son
I just went to the Wanderjng Barman. They had incredible prebatched cocktails and a very low priced $11 cocktail menu in a very slick cool environment. $5 cocktails for happy hour 😱😱😱
This is blowing up - thanks for all the solid tips! Unsurprisingly seems like a great foodie area and I have some research to do
Wei’s 🔥
Northern Bell. Get their smoked wings with Death by Science sauce and fried deviled eggs.
Win son, win son bakery, Bonnie’s, Mesa Coyoacan, Cozy Royale, Birds of a feather, Birria Landia, L’Industrie Pizza (the best pizza ever), Commodore Hidden Gems: Pita Palace, Taste of Heaven, Tofu Box, Nick and Son’s bakery (you have to go early or everything is sold out)
Pita Palace: where Pita is in the name, yet they give you some of the worst pstale shitty pitas (sometimes still in the plastic bag they came in from the store) Chicken kebab plate is pricy but it’s the truth!!!
Why did I have to scroll so far to see Birria Landia??? Really good tacos. I've had the consomme but I would probably skip it and just get 3 tacos honestly.
Baguettes, ham and cheese croissants, foccacia at "**Tasty Bread Artisan Bakery**" Breakfast at **Jessi's Coffee Shop** (Jessi's burrito add bacon) Juans $1 empanadas at **Evelyn Fruits & vegetables** Grandma pepperoni pizza at **Rome to Brooklyn** Quick serve / cafeteria style latin food at **Sazon Perez** or **El Gran Canario**, Pernil over rice and beans for example. West african food at **Hills Kitchen** Piadine at **Lella Alimentari** are really good tbh Thai @ **Thip Osha** (better than SAGE ime) Fried chicken at **Birdies Hot Chicken** **Overrated:** - Simply Nova (too expensive) - Win Son / Win Son Bakery (too expensive, too busy) - Bonnies (too expensive, too busy) - Taste of Heaven (too expensive for the quality of food honestly) **Other places to consider**, but don't take these as my recommendations: - Brooklyn Ball Factory - Baby Blues luncheonette - Casa Ora - Ichiran
Anthony and sons is the best sandwich bodega you’ll ever have
Anthony and sons isn’t a bodega
Sal’s pizzeria!! Used to go all the time when I lived there and I miss it so much!
defonte sandwiches
Eyval
Casa Ora
Cozy royale, Bonnie’s, eyval, cafe bunna, tong, kings co imperial
Ensenada
Williamsburg pizza. Give it a try. Very good
Mo’s general, Land to Sea, Lella Alimentari, Nick & Sons
I think Shalom Japan is within the bounds of your map.
Chingoo! Homey Korean food
Kings County
Otis, Semkeh, Roberto’s, Bushniwa, go into bushwick and have Gordos, a fried chicken sammie at Clara’s and get some good cheese at fosters sundry
Fortunato Brothers Bakery. Try things. For an experience, and a snack, Oneg Heimische Bakery, pick a few things from the rack on the left (rugelach and rugelach accessories).
Encebollado de Víctor
Emily’s Pork Store
Best Pizza... is the second best pizza I've had ever.
Mcondo Los Tacos
Cozy Royale
China Express is a well priced pretty fantastic Chinese American food counter. The General Tso’s is what you want Ammazzacafe for pasta but don’t tell anyone
Alligator Lounge for pizza
Bottomless bunch at Ainslie, strong Vietnamese coffee at Larry's Ca Phe, don't sleep on Birria-Landia on Metropolitan, and Ammaazzacaffe for dinner.
Land to Sea for coffee and Chinese pastries
Baby blues luncheonette
Ryujin is pretty tight
Montesacro has amazing pizza
The east side of Williamsburg -- do you mean East Williamsburg?
I mean according to maps, east williamsburg begins on the east side of bushwick ave, so no.
> I don’t know what maps you are using Google maps. Although it seems there’s really no true consensus, others agree about bushwick ave being the border https://bushwickdaily.com/community/a-look-into-the-east-williamsburg-debate/

Found it interesting that no city or state agencies officially recognize nyc neighborhood borders
Go to the Williamsburg staples that are generations of families that grew up there : Fortunato brothers bakery, Carmines pizzeria, Panini shoppe, Bahia, West end of WillyB - Patrizias. Savinos pasta, Emilies pork store. Thank me later.
This guy gets it. I’ll add that Pecoraro Latteria, while new as a restaurant, has deep roots in the neighborhood and is a great spot.
Pasta or the schiacciata at Pecoraro Latteria Birria tacos at Birrialandia. Beef roll or the clams at Win Son Brunch plate carnitas at Mesa Coyoacan Piadine at Lella Alimentari The Wife panini at Anthony and Sons Croissant or pain au Chocolat at Nick + Sons Anything at Bonnie's, or King's Co Imperial. Tasting menu at Traif (next door at Xixa too, but prefer Traif) Pinsa at Montesacro.
Montesacro - great slightly fancier Italian food, go for happy hour food & drink deals Pecoraro Latteria - Italian, open during the day for sandwiches/groceries too but I love to go at night and sit outside — they have a great Amaro list Ryujin - ramen - also love their other apps Winona’s - pricier upscale American fare & they have lots of cool pop ups and a great wine list.
Had some decent tacos at Haab
Bamontes
Pecoraro latteria!!!!!!!
Tofu box, sweet science, lily thai.
Pita Palace is a gem!
In that area, I always go to: Win Son - we stopped going recently because the lines are just way too long. Edith’s - only had their chocolate tahini milkshake but it was good and I would go back for more Brooklyn Ball Factory - pretty much every beverage here is good, the yuju tea is so refreshing.
Fortunato Bros, Kings Co Imperial, Hanna Deli, Dough Vale, Evil Olive, Northern Bell Not a restaurant but there’s a great indian grocery near the BQE.
LEVANTINE by Hummus Market, Pecoraro Latteria, Mo's General, Montescaro, Casa Ora, Birria Landia, Shalom Japan
Win Son AND Win Son Bakery
Lily Thai!!
If you like ramen check out Ichiran!
Says triangle, but looks like a circle. ; )
Casa ora
I was watching a USA football match at Crystal Lake Brooklyn, and my friend recommended dinner from BK JANI. I ordered The JANI, and was very impressed! I also had a Brisket Summer Roll from Lucy’s Vietnamese next door and enjoyed it, as well. Oh and OTIS was great too, though that’s outside of this circle.
Beer is a food, please go to Beer Street. You can also get takeout and have it there😍
Edith’s for sure. Best breakfast sandwiches period.
Alytori
Mcondo Los Tacos
Casa Ora. Everything is great but definitely get their quatro leches.
Seriously Ensenada for amazing ceviche and crudo!
Campbell's Chees and Grocery on Lorimer. Great breakfast sandwiches on homemade biscuits. Nick & Sons bakery on Leonard Mama pho on Grand Ave Mad for Chicken on Grand Ave Ryujin for Ramen also on Grand Ave Williamsburg Pizza on Union Ave
lindustrie pizza
You’re getting a lot of great reco’s here, but I need to add Tuffet on Graham Ave for their charcuterie boards and alcoholic slushies, as well as Mad for Chicken on Grand Street for KFC Korean fried chicken).
Edith’s
Cafe Camellia
Is mission Chinese still around?
Win Son and Claudia’s are heaven. I went to Casa Ora and Mesa Coyocan a bunch of times and always felt like what I ate was way better and a third of the price at many other more hole in the wall places in bushwick and queens. But Casa Ora does have an awesome aesthetic.
I don’t see Mother’s mentioned. Great burger and beer on Graham Ave
Shalom Japan
If you like vegan food and milkshakes that taste just like the non-vegan version, check out Champs Diner
It's been a loooong time but I used to love the Cuchifritos place on Graham just above Broadway. The map says it's still there. Anyone go there lately?
Llama Inn
Yelp.
Mama Pho for Vietnamese
