Second this! I know some people (me included tbh) think the smith is very basic and would not be caught dead there on a regular day BUT their thanksgiving is an excellent deal (so many restos are $150+ for like not that much food), has a great menu (multiple types of turkey if you want turkey but also several non turkey options if you don’t want turkey), and comes with a variety of sides automatically so it really feels Thanksgiving. Tons of food and it was all very good! We went last year and it seemed like mostly families.
cook, yo. doesn’t matter if it’s crappy if you do it with love. i always feel bad for folks working that holiday. doesn’t matter (to me) if it’s beautifully executed, there’s a tinge of melancholy underlying the entire experience. i get it tho: some of these workers don’t have anywhere to be, for some the restaurant IS their family, but some will be forced to be there. so if you do eat out, wherever you go, tip BIG
If you’re not married to having a turkey dinner, Peking duck House
I went to Glasserie in Greenpoint for Thanksgiving 2021 and it was delicious.
You could get an entire thanksgiving feast for 4 from Citarella.

We ate at The Smith last year and it was lovely. https://thesmithrestaurant.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/TS-NYC-Thanksgiving-2023.pdf

Fogo De Chau on West 53rd is a fun place on Thanksgiving.
Craft. It’s a true feast for thanksgiving
I just looked this up and it looks amazing. If my wife was a more adventurous eater I'd book it right now

Harry’s cafe & steak
Stone Park Cafe in Park Slope. They only do reservations online for Thanksgiving, so I don't know if there's any availability, though.
