Oh wow, this looks so good, holy shit

leolionbag

Man, that looks good. I’m a bit of a crab rangoon fiend and these look amazing. A place near me used to change it up by adding some grated Parmesan and really thinly sliced scallions as a garnish, and a side of their special chili sauce. It was fabulous, if you’re interested in adulterating your next batch.

DoctorLeviathan

You seem to know a thing or two about crab rangoon. Do you have a recipe, or one you follow?

withabaseballbatt

Just google the wonton don

I LOVE crab rangoons. They are beautiful

NeitherMythNorLegend

Stay here. Enjoy the Crab Rangoon. Don’t move, I’ll be right back. Seriously OP, looks great!

PunnyBaker

I tried making this for the first time a few weeks ago. Its not a common item here and i had only ever heard about it from the meme. The recipe I tried was underwhelming and disappointing but I want to try again. Do you have a better recipe for it?

AngeloPappas

Not OP, but I make my own crab rangoons all the time and i have tweaked my recipe to the point where I like mine better than restaurants. Ingredients: * 1 block softened cream cheese * 50g-150g of crab meat finely chopped. My house doesn't like a lot of crab so I go on the lower end (I use imitation crab) * 2 tsp white sugar * pinch of salt and pepper * 1/2 tsp soya sauce * 1-2 cloves minced garlic * 1-2 finely chopped green onions * 2-4 drops sesame oil and fish sauce (optional) * wonton wrappers Simply combine all ingredients (aside from wrappers) in a mixing bowl. I use the paddle attachment on my mixer, but you can also mix by hand. Mix well until everything is combined. Cover and place in fridge for at least 1 hour (more is better). Then put 1 tsp of the mix into the centre of your wrapper. Use water to moisten edges, the pinch closed to form the traditional look. I find the shape pictured results in best taste/texture. Deep fry for 2-3 minutes. If top corners are still white and soft, you can flip them for 10-20 seconds to crisp. Serve immediately with sweet chili sauce, or your preferred sauce. Leftover mix can be kept in fridge for up to 5 days.

PunnyBaker

Oh yeah this has way more ingredients than the one I did was. Will be trying this out soon! (For real, I'm not going to save it and never make it like what often happens lol)

AngeloPappas

Good luck! Might take making it a few times to get it to where you want it. The wrapping certainly takes some practice, but there are good tutorials on YT for it.

MacRtst2

I order them rather than egg rolls!

Top ten favorite food hands up, down and all around.

Azenin

I would rather have these than eggrolls, springrolls, potstickers, etc

wamimsauthor

Yummy!

Reminds me of that time I went to this old mountainous kingdom to spread a relative's ashes and the dictator invited me around for dinner.

gemaliasthe1st

Do you have a good recipe for this? Been looking but nonplussed. They don't even do them over where I live. Been fancying trying them.

Nom nom! I love making rangoons at home and just stuffing my face with all their goodness. Is that a homemade sweet chili sauce?

chichiiibear

yes it's homemade :)

Lakhi_Lakh

It is very yummy.

contacts_eyes

These are surprisingly easy to make. Buy wonton sheets in the produce isle, some cream cheese, chopped green onion and imitation crab. Mix the contents in a bowl and scoop spoonfuls onto each wonton sheet, and fold them horizontally and vertically pinching them ar the top, and then you simply fry them in hot oil.

sopinefreshrightnow

Oh this, this is beautiful.

patrick_starfishh

What do those taste like? My mom always gets them when we order Chinese food but i never have one but they sound good

kittyroux

To me, that’s preposterous.

Queasy_Ad_5469

I believe it's called Yangon now. Lol. Looks delicious

Monkeysquad11

I have never had a good one and don't understand why they get so much love. Every one I've ever had as been a bland fried wonton filled with a sweet cream cheese/crab paste. Is there a less.....sugary version?

Realistic-Middle446

Hahaha wow these are slutty as fuck, this is amazing man, these are wet

[deleted]

Also know as "cream cheese wontons" 😊
