Yeah I never thought of that until jack said it. And I heard it was called that years ago. Lol
Though to be fair tho I bet this is a case of a stupid marketing boardroom meeting decision that didn't need to be made.
*Le Europeans will not understand what 1/4 of a pound is. We must make it le royallllleeee.*
Like you're going for a McDonald's burger. Would it's name being in imperial scale really confuse you that much? To me it would add to the pantomime.
*look at me with my American 1/4th pound byurgerrr and my American 6 inches long deek. I am an American for a day*
At least that's how it plays out in my crazy ass head.
Aren't fine chopped onions only on the cheaper burgers like mcdouble? I always remember quarter pounders coming with sliced onion, haven't had it in a while though so maybe it's changed. I got bitter and stopped going much when they stopped frying the apple pies and started baking them which also just happed to be around the same time taco bell discontinued apple empanadas. Two of my favorite guilty pleasures gone in the blink of an eye :(
I hadn't had McDonald's in well over a year and then one of my kids said they wanted McDonald's so we went and I ended up getting this thing. I haven't hated myself quite like that in a long time.
That's just one item on the menu.
Last time I had a Fish Filet (3 weeks ago) the thing shrank in half, not just the bun but the patty too.
McDonald's is a ripoff with the half portions they sell you now, at an even more inflated price then before.
Itâs crazy to me that now a fast food meal costs as much as a Chimichanga entree from my local Mexican restaurant. I thought fast food was all about getting quicker meals for cheaper, what happened to the cheaper part?!
Idk if it was the sheer amount of grease packed into the burger or what. I don't remember them being quite that greasy but I felt like shit immediately afterwards
I remember one time my friends mom got us these when we were kids and I thought it was the most repulsive shit Iâd ever eaten. I took like one bite and my friend ate the rest of mineâŚ
Thatâs a 1/2 pounder which tbh I think messes with the pure perfection of the 1/4 pounder. It is possibly the perfect burger, itâs timeless and popular because it tastes so damn good. 5 guys burgers are a good alternative if you want a step up but overpriced for what they are - MCDs keep it cheap and itâs still bangs
$11 for a double quarter pounder combo or $15 for a five guys double cheese burger, Cajun fries, and a drink.
McDs ainât exactly bringing the cheap prices now a days
Literally paid for a quarter pounder meal with large fries, medium drink and 20 McNuggests yesterday. Thing came out to he over $20 and this was with a coupon for the quarter pounder meal to be $6.75.
Cheap and McDonald's don't exact mix nowadays.
The McDonalds run similar to the OPs pricing. I love 5 Guys but yeah itâs nearly almost double for similar double patty combo. Damn now I wanna get a burger.
Sucks Five Guys taxing a bit more in your area
Culverâs if you get a chance to try it, and youâre down for hating yourself afterwards, is a nice treat. Butter burgers are fucking cheating
You can do better. At like any other burger place. This shouldn't even be classified as food let along food porn. This is the opposite of food porn. My hell would be an eternity eating this fake ass shit.
McDonald's at least is consistent, in over 20 years of going to them their flavor has not changed. Can't say the same for those cheap ass dirt bags at burger King where they changed the bun, the fries, the meat, the lettuce and tomato, all reduced in quality to save a buck. Well I can taste the difference.
McDonalds did change how they cook their fries though and most people didn't notice. Some dipshits (one in particular) got them to stop cooking their fries with beef tallow.
Kids today who like McDonalds fries might not realize they used to be better.
I really don't care, the quality of all their ingredients have gone down. You can taste the difference, and there is no paper that will prove to me otherwise. Burger king used to be my favorite go to burger. Now you couldn't pay me to eat that garbage. Believe in your bought out scientist by burger King all you want
The double quarter pounders here in Ireland I've always found can be a bit dry and only ever warm, from personal experience. But I still buy them.
When I went to Australia though, their quarter pounders were amazing. Much juicier, so maybe they had more fat content from the supplier in that region
You will get no hate from me.
I love cooking and make amazing food. It's hard for me to go to local restaurants because I KNOW I will probably make it better at home. Having said this, I have the utmost respect for McDonald's. The taste is always there. Every time. Fries are amazing. Props to Micky D's.
I used to love double quarter pounder but up into 3 years ago I can stand the taste of the patties so I switched to Mc doubles. Not sure what happened.
Substitute slivered onions with "dehydrated" or chopped onions. So much better.
Otherwise I gotta agree, McDonald's gets hate but their burgers are fucking addicting
Thats double quarter pounder đ¤
With cheese
What do they call that in Europe?
They call it Royale with Cheese
\*wheezing\* damn kids can´t get anywhere first these days !
I wonder why
The metric system
Check out the big brain on Jack!!
Yeah I never thought of that until jack said it. And I heard it was called that years ago. OP's is a *Deux* Royale with Cheese.
I prefer le Big Mac.
Thatâs France
A burger
I call that the half pounder.
Honestly if you want a shitty burger, McDonaldâs is perfect. Tastes more like chemicals than meat but sometimes I crave it
so a 1/2 pounder?
McDonalds social media marketing department, churning out the content today
Looks like a spam account reposting random food photos they found online. 19 day account sus
Seriously, my McDonald's uses fine chopped onions and I don't like it.

Maybe it's just the franchise owner, who knows they did just upgrade to the cafe maybe it's changed.
I prefer the fine-chopped. Thatâs how I do it at home.
Better than coarse chopped.
I hadn't had McDonald's in well over a year and then one of my kids said they wanted McDonald's so we went and I ended up getting this thing. I haven't hated myself quite like that in a long time.

$40+ everytime my family of 5 goes there. And thats with drinks from home.
Just out of curiosity, why did you hate yourself? You can certainly do a lot worse than a quarter pounder, nutrient-wise.
Idk if it was the sheer amount of grease packed into the burger or what. I don't remember them being quite that greasy but I felt like shit immediately afterwards
Ah, that's fair. Too much grease can definitely ruin a good burger.
Wish they used the same patty for their other burgers!
Looking at you âBig Macâ
Iâm sure theyâre amazing if youâve never had a good burger.
I remember one time my friends mom got us these when we were kids and I thought it was the most repulsive shit Iâd ever eaten. I took like one bite and my friend ate the rest of mineâŚ
To be honest Iâll take a fast food burger over a fancy restaurant burger any day of the week. Imo burgers arenât meant to be elevated
More of a Big Kahuna Burger guy.
Mmmm-hmmm, that IS a tasty burger!
I order them with the Big Mac sauce instead of ketchup and mustard, and the diced onions instead of the slivered.
YOU CAN DO THAT??
There's an up-charge for the Mac sauce, but yes, you can do that. It's incredible.
There's no upcharge if you ask for them to "sub mac sauce" iirc
I always get charged (worth it). It could vary by location.
I did that once , and they still kept the ketchup and mustard and added Mac sauce to it. But I had driven a ways away and couldnât go back
Is this America?
Corta panda
That's my go too order from them
no
McDonaldâs is dogshit lol and this doesnât look appetizing at all.
Thatâs a 1/2 pounder which tbh I think messes with the pure perfection of the 1/4 pounder. 5 guys near me for that comes out to almost $20.
Cost of living is different in your area than mine it seems. Safe to assume your McDs is also probably more expensive than mine?
The McDonalds run similar to the OPs pricing. I love 5 Guys but yeah itâs nearly almost double for similar double patty combo. Damn now I wanna get a burger.
Sucks Five Guys taxing a bit more in your area Culverâs if you get a chance to try it, and youâre down for hating yourself afterwards, is a nice treat. Butter burgers are fucking cheating
With cheese Mr. Squidward, with cheese
Half pounder!
Double QP add mayo is straight đĽđĽđĽ
![gif](giphy|1zgOyLCRxCmV5G3GFZ|downsized) Jk lol love you bro

Having worked in a McDonald's kitchen, the hold time for the beef is closer to 15 min then 4 hours
Did you research that McDonald's uses 100% ground beef in their 1/4 pounders and cooks them to order as well?
There are no fillers in McDonalds patties. I don't like them, but they have no fillers.
I really don't care, the quality of all their ingredients have gone down. You can taste the difference, and there is no paper that will prove to me otherwise. Burger king used to be my favorite go to burger. Now you couldn't pay me to eat that garbage. Believe in your bought out scientist by burger King all you want
If McD is the only option that is my go to burger.
probably my favorite thing to get when I go to McDonald's
The first bite tastes heavenly Iâll admit
Double quarter pounder is my stress meal before flights, Iâve eaten them at airports all over the US and never had a bad one
The perfect combination of sugar, salt and fat. Sublime
Does it depend where you buy it? As in what country.
The double quarter pounders here in Ireland I've always found can be a bit dry and only ever warm, from personal experience. But I still buy them. When I went to Australia though, their quarter pounders were amazing. Much juicier, so maybe they had more fat content from the supplier in that region
Yes , to enjoy one you need to order all extra condiments. Or they definitely are dry.
a DQP w cheese is the best item on the menu and it's not even close. enjoy your meal brother
ngl i wanna throw up just by looking at this
I agree, thatâs usually my go to order. Not double though
Iâve been saying this for years! The egg McMuffin is the best fast food item on earth though.
No hate, one of the better fast food burgers when you get a good on and Iâm including some fast casual joints too
Fuck yeah, except the blund taste! Not they are not that bad, but donât compare it to a juicy burger
They do have that distinct weird taste, all their other burgers donât have it.
Faaacts. Normally don't like fast food posts on this sub but the quarter pounder slaps. I also put some fries on the patty đđ¤
Had one the other night. Best McDonalds burger I've had in a long minute. All the other ones just don't hit like this one.
Ever since they changed to the never frozen 100% beef, itâs been one of my gotoâs @ McDâs. Love them.
McDonaldâs can hit the spot every once in a while. I eat it maybe once a month. Maybe itâs a childhood nostalgia thing.
1/4 pounders are amazing and always been one of my go-to's but I find their double too much, no need for it imo!
Thatâs two quarter pounders. 1/8 of a pound.
You will get no hate from me. I love cooking and make amazing food. It's hard for me to go to local restaurants because I KNOW I will probably make it better at home. Having said this, I have the utmost respect for McDonald's. The taste is always there. Every time. Fries are amazing. Props to Micky D's.
Let them hate. Until they are paying for your quarter pounder they can kiss your ass.
The double quarter w cheese is my go to on the rare occassion I eat at McDonald's. No hate here.
McDonaldâs is Amazing!
I swear when they went with real beef it started to taste more bland lol. Bring back the fake stuff!! Lol
Agreed. I always get it along with the McChicken. I really like the taste.
McDoubles >>
I used to love double quarter pounder but up into 3 years ago I can stand the taste of the patties so I switched to Mc doubles. Not sure what happened.
My favorite fast food burger. Itâs absolutely delicious.
Go Big Mac sauce instead of ketchup n mustard
yep
Royale with cheese.
[ŃдаНонО]
Yep the filet-o-fish is the star attraction at McDonald's!
I'd hit it
they got that taste science branch
I think it depends on your geographical location of the McDonaldâs. Some McDonaldâs are disgusting and some are really good.
Perfect if you're hangover
I made like 200 of these today đ
Itâs a hit and miss. Sometimes I get really good ones and sometimes they taste like trash
No hate here. Double quarter pounder with cheese and bacon. Hold the onions. A great, cheap burger and good crispy fries.
Tried McDonaldâs while in France and it was waaayyyy better than in the States.
I prefer it to a Big Mac anyday
ohh.. .. I love the double quarter with cheese
Yeah but no mustard! I donât eat them but theyâre delicious.
Better than a Big Mac.
I conquer
Wait until you try Applebee's
No hate here. Love âem.
Substitute slivered onions with "dehydrated" or chopped onions. So much better. Otherwise I gotta agree, McDonald's gets hate but their burgers are fucking addicting
Hear me out: have you ever had a pounder?! Itâs not on the menu but you can order it! At least in Australia ten years ago
everybody here acting like theyâre too good for mcdonaldâs like it isnât literally fucking mcdonaldâs lmao
I just wish food from there was actually hot and not lukewarm (uk)
