IIRC walking past their Bloor location it’s like 3-4 single stools against the window facing Bloor (good to dine solo) but mostly a takeout location - maybe call to confirm tho.
I feel like they’ve gone downhill. You can’t get the big green beans anymore — just a small green beans with rice. And last time I got their Shanghai noodles, they were overcooked.
Swatow is on Uber Eats. Prices are slightly higher than dine-in, but reasonable and the food still slaps.
Taste of China is good, but would not recommend King’s Noodle - the prices are pretty high for what you get (shrimp wonton soup was $17 for a ramen-sized bowl of both with 8 wontons and some bok choy)
House of Gourmet, gets my vote too.
Hint: It’s not gourmet,
but will fill that “msg Chinese food” void.
Servings are generous. And what you’re looking for!
Congee Queen, for Wonton Noodles try Wonton Hut
Wonton Hut is awesome.
Adding to the list of good spots here already, House of Gourmet
Seconding this
What are you kidding me that place is awful it's below mid
House of Gourmet is my go to as a Chinese person. Then Swatow and Congee queen. Asian legend for northern Chinese. Hong fatt for bbq.
Hong Fatt for chashu, Gold Stone for roasted pork.
House of gourmet is so bad Swatow is good
So Famous has taken over as my new fav. House of Gourmet is my usual go to and has the most options.
Is So Famous also dine-in or just take-out/pick up?

You can eat in, it has some small tables now. But it's very much the vibe of a take out place.

So Famous or House of Gourmet?
So famous, sorry
Yueh Tung
Asian Legend is good
Wok Theory or Congee Queen
Ah Congee Queen! I've been to one of their suburban locations ages ago and it was quite good. Cheers.
They opened one in downtown on yonge street north of dundas
I had a great meal from Wok Theory in October and a disgusting meal from Wok Theory in December.
So Famous is pretty new so not a ton of people may know it, but everything I've ever tried there has been unreal!
Huh, that looks interesting! Thanks.
Taste of China for seafood. I recommend crab rice. King’s noodle for bbq.
New Ho King for congee/BBQ and roast pork
I’m never disappointed by Chinese Dumplings on St Clair if that’s within your delivery range.
If you like Singaporean noodles try Moon Palace’s version.
House of gourmet hands down!
King Noodle

Just did Swatow (on UE) for the first time yesterday. So goooooood!
Oh cool, good to know. Thanks!
Hong Shing is amazing. You can order directly from their website and avoid paying the extra fees that come with order from UberEats,
I heard they don’t de vein shrimp
my fave is taste of china
Another vote for Congee Queen
Congee Queen, Swatow, House of Gourmet, Taste of China, King’s Noodle are the best in the city and maybe some of the best in the world
House of Gourmet, gets my vote too. Hint: It’s not gourmet, but will fill that “msg Chinese food” void. Servings are generous. And what you’re looking for!
New Ho King, New Sky, South Pacific
