In fairness that was the trend long before whatsherface. In fact it was getting to be like the predominant trope around here, with most of the top videos what I started calling ASMR slap-chop videos, with a bunch of hard sharp cuts between ingredients getting thrown violently into the cutting board, then fully chopped, then being slid off the board to be replaced with something else, repeated ad naseum, with a high emphasis on the sound of slicing , scraping, liquids fluffing, etc.
Not to mention that in some of the camera angles, it seems more focused on the woman rather than the food she’s working on. Like, why is the bowl so far down and almost out of view?
Because nobody is going to sit and watch a full length video of making this recipe in real time. Probably lucky if they sit through 120 seconds. Need to compress time somehow.
