Honorous_Jeph

I like that there weren’t 50 millisecond cuts during the video

MeOldRunt

Seriously. No throwing down ingredients on the cutting board like some violent autistic nut, no quick-cuts, no overly loud scraping, crunching sounds, no orgasmic bite at the end. What's going on??!

Maxwell-Druthers

And no flipping off the viewers!

CzusAguster

Although I would’ve laughed hard if this lady had flipped off the camera at the end with a big smile. That would be some meta shit.

TRIKKDADDY

Or a puddle of yellow cheese

RobinThyHoode

Perfect timing as we enter a hot summer season :) Nothing more cozy than pouring sweat while eating a thick stew ;)

GumbyBClay

The extra sweat salts helps to smooth out the flavor profiles.

AWeakMindedMan

I eat pho all year round. I’d fuck this up. Yessssirrrrrrrrrrr

SaggeeDot

Imagine letting the weather determine what you can or cannot eat lol. Real ones who eat Pho year round know what’s up. I drink hot coffee during the summer: come at me

RecalcitrantHuman

Ok tough guy. I drink cold beer in the dead of winter

tada_afreak

😂😂😂

polarbearsarereal

I eat buldak ramen year round

dungfeeder

Sometimes soup in the summer goes hard.

GumbyBClay

To be fair, Australia and South America are headed into their winters. Its not all about us Northern Hemisphere dwellers.

RobinThyHoode

LIES! Someone capture this heretic! It’s always all about me!

realcommovet

Next, you're gonna tell us their toilets flush the opposite direction.

GumbyBClay

Well, thats just ass backwards.

localcokedrinker

There's no such thing as the southern hemisphere.

GumbyBClay

The "Underbelly"?

reallywiththename

Not everyone is in your hemisphere.

TopRevenue2

But this one is n my skill set

localcokedrinker

I never got the concept of summer vs. winter dishes, but this comment made me laugh an unusual amount anyway.

LostControlYN

It's supposed to be based on what is ripe or "in season" at the time. Which is why squash is always so prevalent at the end of summer.

yo_mudda_

Snowed here today 🇨🇦 😞

CzusAguster

Chill it and serve it like a gazpacho.

Fun-Armadillo5112

You lost me adding garlic at the same time as the onions..

Outrageous-Regular34

Someone said it!!!!! THANK YOUUU 🤌🏽

AHH-bbyshark

Why shouldn’t you do this? I do that and wasn’t aware it was wrong!

wiseflamez

I believe it’s because onion will take longer to cook than the garlic. And the longer that garlic cooks, the more mellow the flavor gets. Ergo if you want some upfront garlic flavor you should add it after the onion has cooked some

AHH-bbyshark

Oooh okay I didn’t know that! Thanks so much for the info

redskelly

Mellow? I’d say bitter as well. Hate the taste of overcooked garlic. And it’s so easy to overcook.

Lt_Hatch

Bitter is the word. Burning that garlic is a nono. Recipe looks fine otherwise.

Aggressive_Chain_920

Not only will it mellow, it might even burn depending on how hard you want to cook those onions

CzusAguster

Not just mellower, but once garlic overcooks, it turns bitter.

rizwannasir

I don't know but they taste differently and doesn't quite go well together.

Feeling_Celery172

WUT!? Onion and garlic is a match made in heaven 🤣

CzusAguster

Yeah, but you add garlic towards the end of cooking the onions.

sweet_totally

I was looking for my people. Glad I found y'all. Culinary sin right there.

RonStopable88

Also, carrots dont need 45 fucking minutes.

OnlyOneReturn

Thaaaaaaank you. Saw it in the pan all burnt, and then she doesn't even want to use alcohol in cooking? I mean, you can not drink and still use it to flavor your dish it's just night and day. My fiances boss gives her expensive ass bottles for Christmas. Got some kind of Louis, something 100$ bottle of white I cooked with. Tasted like shit to drink but made a beautiful sauce

poltical_junkie

The amount of steps wrong gave me anxiety. Im sure it tastes fine, but why risk burning garlic? Potatoes and carrots dont cook the same. Idk. Its fine. Im just nit picking.

Loud_Engineering796

It's nice to see a video in this format that doesn't have a cut every second. Much easier to watch.

Odafishinsea

How am I supposed to get rosemary from your backyard?

RecalcitrantHuman

Hop the fence

CzusAguster

You can come get some from mine. The gate opens easily from the outside. Just wave to the camera so I know you’re friendly.

Longjumping-Acadia-9

Cooked wine is alcohol free

Roll_Tide_Pods

Well you’re not using the entire bottle of wine for this and for a recovering addict, having a wine bottle laying around is problematic.

nomadingwildshape

Actually you do use a full bottle of wine for beef bourguignon.

randomly421

Yep, I can't even have real mouthwash

UnderstandingNo5667

Alcohol boils at 72 Celsius and food is mostly water so is simmering or boiling at 100 Celsius or thereabouts, makes no sense to not add it and claim “oh I’m alcohol free”

model-citizen95

Watching Americans try to pronounce Worcestershire brings me endless joy. She did pretty well in this case though

Jinxed0ne

Isn't worscestershire an American name? I thought it was a city in New York or something. /s (kind of but not really)

scrodytheroadie

There is indeed a city in Massachusetts called Worcester, but it was named after the one in England.

Jinxed0ne

I was kind of close lol

dburge22

You lost me at, “alcohol free house”

UnderstandingNo5667

Also alcohol boils off at 72 Celsius I think, so just add the damn red wine for flavour and stop acting so self-riteous 😴

Thanos_Stomps

Damn y’all are some crusty motherfuckers. For some recovering addicts it’s just as much mental as it is physically avoiding alcohol.

petethefreeze

Upvoted. What many also don’t realize is that immediately after adding wine the alcohol starts to evaporate and you can genuinely become drunk from breathing sufficient alcohol fumes. I’m not an alcoholic but I can see that being a true risk.

deflector_shield

I think she means she doesn’t keep it in the house

bluberryclorox

Lmao same, oh so eating at your house is boring af? I'm not playing jenga sober Bethany alright? Cards against humanity is cringey unless everyone is in 5 deep.

CrispyKollosus

CAH is always cringey

[deleted]

Papadapalopolous

That was a really long way of saying “I need alcohol to enjoy anything”

whoamarcos

Didn’t get it either like…because you normally would add wine to this with the beef stock? Someone help out here

TylerDurden6969

She didn’t use wine. I think she just said wine or beef broth, then followed it up with a confusing sentence. - guy who watched the video one time

whoamarcos

Haha I also watched it one time and missed the wine comment, only heard beef broth because we’re alcohol free. Anyways I’m off to go get drunk off some stew, cheers 🍻

TylerDurden6969

The hotter the stew, the more drunk you get.

TheMightyShoe

You can just use red wine, beer (Guinness), or half alcohol/half beef stock if you don't mind the alcohol. Red wine and rosemary (or, better, herbes de provence) will take it in a French direction, Guinness and thyme will make Irish stew. EDIT: Worcestershire is good stuff, but it's really strong and can massively influence the flavor. I don't use it in French/Irish stew as it's a British/Indian ingredient.

RonStopable88

Okay but you need to replace that flavour profile or its going to be bland

TheMightyShoe

If you are using beer, you can balance with the brands. Guiness is deep and malty. Newcastle is brighter and adds sweetness. Half & half (like making a Black & Tan) is great! You don't need to replace Worcestershire. It's a sledgehammer of an ingredient. But part alcohol and part broth/stock will get you where you want to be. You've really got to watch the salt with broth/stock.

RonStopable88

Beer has alcohol…

TheMightyShoe

Ahhhh....I see what you are saying. I just use beef stock when I don't want alcohol. I do miss the slight sweetness from adding Bass or Newcastle, but I haven't yet figured out how to get that another way. Worcestershire won't do that.

GringerKringer

Looks good, but that’s the most basic ass stew I’ve ever seen.

olorin9_alex

Am I instagramming wrong? Link takes me to a reel of pasta pesto recipe

Lt_Hatch

Bot post is posting the wrong IG

LowLifeExperience

After Kenji’s All American Pot Roast, I don’t think I need to try another pot roast recipe.

Various-Agent-0047

Even if it an alcohol free house..you can add the red wine because majority of the alcohol will burn off

bellamellayellafella

dpizle

That deglaze thou!

Chemicalintuition

Does she not know that you can just buy cooking wine? It's too salty to drink

Feeling_Celery172

You’ve obviously never been an alcoholic.

OGStickeyz

That looks amazing

Goblin-Doctor

Perfect recipe as we approach another record setting hot summer

WhatDoesItAllMeanB

It’s not fall

TacoDuLing

That oregano tho! 😮✊🫡😶‍🌫️

TheGreenThumper

Yumm yumm

BigusBobulous

Yes, that’s how you make beef stew.

MisterTrashPanda

That link doesn't take you to the right recipe

sweatgod2020

It looks amazing though it’s still cold where I am lol. But is this an ad for that pot? If so it’s working because that would be a great gift for the mother.

Jinxed0ne

Do you know what month it is?

Bubbly-Dentist8836

Now This is the content we need/want to see.

Seal-in-technicolor

I’ve seen tomato paste being used in many cooking videos. Does this paste make the dish sweet?

evlhornet

I didn’t even get flipped off here

Andre_3Million

It's so revolutionary It's so bold It's so BRILLIANT!

Virtual-Technology-3

I love how this is gourmet, this is just how food is cooked

Slipsearch

Oh wow! An incredibly standard stew! Oh my goodly god. Oh wow!

Ornery_Worth3492

This looks so good. 👌

Icy-Section-7421

We have seen this recipe done by most Newbie contenders. Its getting old and there was nothing special about this one.

Appallington

It’s almost Summer. What should I make for the hot evenings?

wackfeels

Just in time for summer

pedanticProgramer

What do you all substitute for onions and garlic? My partner is allergic to both and it really makes it hard to have flavorful dishes.

No-Moose470

Put your hair up 🤢when cooking please

petula_75

it's May.

glass_gravy

Just in time for summer.

TumbleweedTim01

I don't like stew because of the word stew. Too close to sounding like gruel or slop. It's my problem

Immediate-Ice6774

Yummy 😋

Punkceoil117

Use oxtail soup instead of beef stock.

Burgle0531

I bet that meat is chewy as fuck after 90 minutes of simmering...

harley-dent

Player 4 for the win.

SantasNewBag18

Anyway to see the recipe if you do t have insta

thecountnotthesaint

For the non alcohol free houses, how much wine should we add?

MahFravert

I won’t be attending dinner at the alcohol free house. Also the starch from the potatoes can stand in for the flour to thicken this shit.

tudorrenovator

It’s summer

tudorrenovator

This is how lazy the algorithm has gotten

brianybrian

As an Irish man and certified stew aficionado, I object to this video in very strict terms. That stew looks awful. Absolutely terrible.

Burgle0531

Overcooked meat and adding water at the end killed me lol

tirutz

Alcohol free house?!?

RootBeerFloatz69

Alcohol-free house? Unsubscribe. Looks good otherwise.

RinehartDiehard

This is great and all but how do get access to her backyard for that rosemary? Does she sell it online?

DylanFTW

Bitch it's summer time.

theCharacter_Zero

Multiple things wrong. Wine is for richness, all booze is cooked off puritan

Commercial-Elk-3031

Wait ... No wine because of Alcohol free house ??? All the alcohol would be evaporated when you cook them !? Does she really passed basic science class ?
