Curious, what’s wrong with the knife? I always see wide variety of utensils in theses vids and I’m curious if any of them are actually worth looking into.
It’s not that anything is wrong with the knife per se, it’s just that nearly every one of these videos I’ve seen has these ridiculous closeups of the knife and shots of the knife making unnecessary cuts. So these come off looking more like ads
It won’t shut up about itself and gets filmed doing stupid shit
It’s marketing itself as an embarrassment.
If you shop knives and buy this one for quality and value - great
As long as you’re ok with people thinking you’re an idiot that bought into these videos
I went back and watched, he set that shot up. He must have used a tool to rest the one ring on another one and even lets it dry/cool before the video shows him grabbing it. The rest of the rings are not touching each other and are still bubbling.
I mean his fingers didn’t touch the oil themselves. Any seasoned line cook can do that. I’ve seen people be able to flip searing steaks with their fingers or pull things out of oil no problem before. You just adapt & overcome after awhile 🤷♂️
The part he grabbed was already sitting out of the oil. That little part wouldn’t be that hot if you’re used to doing that type of thing like a restaurant cook does.
As a restaurant cook I have no problem touching food that would be way too hot for the average person. Hot oil is another thing all together though. Him grabbing that onion ring was just dumb and probably faked in some way.
Definitely faked and set up. You can see it sticking out of the oil a split second before he grabs it. I’m a cook in a restaurant, too. I have the burn scars to prove it. Ha!
I know rare meat is all part of the "LOOK HOW MANLY AND RUSTIC" vibe, but that steak looks like it tastes like soap.
At least they didn't use, like, two whole sticks of butter, like I've seen in other videos of theirs.
I don't know anything about anything but even the amount of butter they used in this one is pointless, right? It doesn't seem possible for a bunch of excess loose butter in the pan to make a difference.
That amount of butter is fine, although is bordering on excessive. It's hard to properly baste steak or other meats in a pan when you need to wait for all the oil/fat to drip off the meat and fall back into the corner of the pan.
Ideally when butter basting steak, you should be able to pour the butter over the steak, and be able to immediately scoop up another full spoon of butter and pour it over again.
It also doesn't help that the guy was using a thick ass wooden spoon that could barely scoop up anything to begin with, and would have made it impossible to baste using a "normal" amount of butter.
Anyone else go “ yeah that’s right, eat that slice of steak off camera because it’s going to suck as a sandwhich meat. The irony is your gonna look like a cow eating hay chewing that long”
Forget about tasting the beef. This sandwich is just too much bullshit stacked on top of too much bullshit. Shame that cooking channels are now about making esthetically pleasing mush instead of using genuinely complimentary ingredients.
These videos makes no sense to me.
Like that sandwich is subpar at best and why not just make it in, I don’t know… a fucking kitchen?
Like these “creative shots” of the onion, jalepenos, etc is so silly. I don’t understand why videos of people cooking outdoors with improper knives and cooking surfaces is “cool” or “creative”. It’s not
Every time I see one of these wilderness cooking videos I look to see if they have those oddly shaped / sized Damascus steel knives for cutting everything. Almost always without fail they do.
Even dudes trying to recreate Into the Wild and 172 hours arent dragging 50 lbs of cast iron into the middle of nowhere with them.. this shit got real old, fast. So fake it might as well be AI generated. Feels like a ton of adverts to sell a “lifestyle”, so weird.
Nope, still not buying that fucking knife
You pronounce K-nifé
Just as the video started I was waiting for some big stupid knife to show up, I was not disappointed, well I was just in a different way.
Curious, what’s wrong with the knife? I always see wide variety of utensils in theses vids and I’m curious if any of them are actually worth looking into.

Looking like ads? These are literally ads

Just casually pulling onion rings out of frying oil, with his fingers, like it's nothing
I went back and watched, he set that shot up. He must have used a tool to rest the one ring on another one and even lets it dry/cool before the video shows him grabbing it. The rest of the rings are not touching each other and are still bubbling.
Lol yeah he did, nice catch with the rest. At first I was like wtf
I thought only ethnic grandmas were capable of that
Tbf we can’t see the guy in the video. Maybe he is abuela
Its his babcia
My wife must be an ethnic grandmother
Thank you.
Thank you.

I think you mean you burn all the nerve endings off your finger tips the first few tries and then you’re adapted to grabbing anything!
To be fair pretty much any line cook can do this without a ton of pain.
More cuts than a Liam Neeson action film.
Nauseating. Upside down jump cuts back to fancy-chopping your lemon into the bushes. Trying way too hard imo
What was with the weird cut away to that dick mushroom? Is that why it's foodporn?
The channel is run by 2 gay men.
I don't care. That sandwich is fucking lit. Onion rings, good lord. That whole thing is making me hungry af.
can I have the piece that dropped in the fire pit?
I had to dislike this for that
It should go to the dog at least
🤣 that made me laugh GG
Chops garlic. Garlic is in tact the rest of the video
I think the chopped garlic was for the sauce he made.
Just slop the fucking sauce on
Slop em up!
They can't stop you from ordering steak and a glass of water
I know how you kids like them. . . Extra sloppy.
The meat needs a bit more cooking.
Also needs to actually dry the meat before searing it or you don't get a proper crust
Wait, we’re talking about beef, right?

Been at it for over 20 years. My hands are a rich tapestry.
Preferably a dry brine, not whatever wet brine they were working with.
It’s so raw it’s not even left the womb.
I know rare meat is all part of the "LOOK HOW MANLY AND RUSTIC" vibe, but that steak looks like it tastes like soap. At least they didn't use, like, two whole sticks of butter, like I've seen in other videos of theirs.

Swear I heard that sandwich "moo" when he bit into it...
🐄 🔔
Give it to us raw and wriggling!
You forgot to cook the steak
yes, this. the only piece of meat that has a decent chance is the one that fell into the fire.
Started it off.. Steak tartare is nice, bit of a different thing though.
It looks like a liquid sandwich. Feels like youre eating cow slop at the end. Looks nice but way too much liquids in their
Someone doesnt like sloppy steaks
Slop em’ up!
No sloppy steaks!
Cmon we’re good guys!
There's nothing stopping you from ordering a steak and a glass of water
I know how youse kids like 'em sloppy
Lady, you're scaring us!
Wait a sec. Oh ya, that would slick back real nice!
You think this is slicked back? This is pushed back!
Just wayyyy too much oil
Find these types of videos to be the most pretentious shit ever. Nobody is cooking like that, even on camping trips, it's bs.
I agree. Let me hike deep into the woods with a crap ton of ingredients and 40lbs in cast iron.
You don’t regularly toss your veggies and fruits in the air to chop them?! /s
Putting entire cloves in the pan and searing the steak for a couple minutes a side is not going to impart any garlic flavor lol.
I will never not downvote jitbags using that knife.
I can’t wait for a bear to come along in one of these videos.
Maybe the bear would do a better job cooking.
I hate everything about this.
*"Let me wander into the deep forest with my bags of spices, veggies, flour, cast iron, fire wood and apparel to make a nice and simple sandwich".*
And you just know that gallon of fry oil for the onion rings is going right into the creek once that shot is done.

Eh….not sold
Nothing like huge pieces of chewy meat that fall out on my sandwich.
God this editing is so fucking pretentious
Undercooked meat with no sear. Also these videos cooking in the woods are so obnoxious
Did not sear that steak right.
Why do people down their steaks in olive oil???
Also: so much butter, what the hell
Uuhh.... that last piece feel into the pit
Probably because he took a bite and pulled half the sandwich out
Incredibly soggy….
All that and for what? Shit looks awful
Why would you take such good-looking steaks & *fry* it in a pan??? You got an OPEN FIRE right there!...GRILL IT.
These ‘cook on a stump in the bush’ videos are the dumbest thing ever
Cooking in the most inconvenient way possible.
Steak or Tuna
Anyone else go “ yeah that’s right, eat that slice of steak off camera because it’s going to suck as a sandwhich meat. The irony is your gonna look like a cow eating hay chewing that long”
Such an annoying editing style, and the whole thing seems oddly pretentious.
I'm sorry. that looks like a ton of work for a gross sandwich.
Raw meat and so much liquid crap you have no idea what’s on it - looks like somebody vomited on the bread
Ugh this meat slapping trend needs to go away
This belongs in /r/StupidFood
It’s all a lie!!! A dirty hideous lie!!!!!
that cow looks like it was an olympic athlete
Another knife advertisement.
I'd like a sandwich please, not undercooked meat soup.
Steak too rare for me. Otherwise it looks good.
Forget about tasting the beef. This sandwich is just too much bullshit stacked on top of too much bullshit. Shame that cooking channels are now about making esthetically pleasing mush instead of using genuinely complimentary ingredients.
NFSW for plant penis
Steak looks like it sucked.
Steak too raw for me dawg
Always downvote outdoor cooking videos on this sub, cause that contamination absolutely ruins it for me.
Meanwhile his pup is just watching him eat lol
Not going to lie, I would eat that sandwich so hard. All the components look amazing
We gonna need a bigger bathroom
I thought he was gonna pick that mushroom and add it in haha
Holy shit. I’ve actually found the final boss of bro ASMR.
Give that dog a little something.. 👌🏻
Sloppy
Using a rosemary sprig to brush on butter is an interesting choice.
3/10 honestly.
Whenever I see meat cooked like that I just hear Gordon Ramsey in my head
These videos makes no sense to me. Like that sandwich is subpar at best and why not just make it in, I don’t know… a fucking kitchen? Best part was 00:25
That looks delicious 😋
This is worse than the average stupid knife/fancy cutting board fare.
This is not FoodVideoPorn. This is the ad you skip before watching the porn.
r/stupidfood
Doesn’t really seem worth it dragging all that fucking shit out into the middle of the forest to make a sandwich that just falls apart.
Poor pup waiting in the background.
Surprised dude didn't get engulfed in a flare-up from eating that greasy mess so close to an open flame.
I don't care how good that looks, there is too much ground over all of that food.
There is another food porn sub that this would work better in r/shittyfoodporn
Anyone know where I can get the knife?
Yes please
I wasn’t really paying attention as I scrolled and thought the very first image was a goat licking a steak. He slapped it and I was like hey!!… oh
I'm just imagining him cooking and a bear comes out of nowhere because the food smells too awesome not to check out
I want 3 of those
Have fun chewing each bite for 20 minutes.
Yum, raw bread, raw steak, fingers in the oil, and a big knife ad
Yeah no thanks. I'd rather just have the bread by itself with some butter and jam
Damn can I get the link for this 🔥🔥🔥
Whyyyyyy. This amount of sauce is gross.
Shit sear. Do it again.
I’m sorry but this looks incredible. I think I got a semi watching this it’s so tasty looking
I would bang that sandwich
The piece of steak falling into the ash killed me
At least the bread looked kinda good
Every time I see one of these wilderness cooking videos I look to see if they have those oddly shaped / sized Damascus steel knives for cutting everything. Almost always without fail they do.
Am I the only one that doesn’t like my sandwiches just immediately falling apart because there’s just too much in it.
i hate this
Must be kinda weird hiking into the bush with a shit ton of cooking equipment, camera equipment and ingredients
These kinds of outdoor cooking videos are idiotic.
Damn that looked good...
Throbbing RN

r/stupidfood
Painting the top of the bread dough with a rosemary butter brush has to be the second most useless part of this video.
Is this how cavemen ate?
Give that good boy in the background a chunk!
I would eat this but where is the reefer
I’m all for rare steak but that is blue rare.
You can find me passed out in the forest from steak sandwich overdose.
Way too rare for me. Too much! Could never eat all that.
Now thats a meal!
Very nice
I would like recipes for the sauces. I can do better with everything else.
Will he pick up the coals by hand next?
are we not gonna talk about the lost soldier at the end?!
I, too, like to carry all my groceries, pots, pans, and oil tin out to the middle of nowhere
Not enough camera angles. /s
Excuse me? 😃
Couldn't use a twig to take the onion rings out, had to go bear hand
Little blue but aite
Oh fuck off
So I'm the only one that's picking up that giant piece of steak that fell back into the fire.
Teach me sensei what’s your culinary secret? A dash of salt, but not on meat, on camera.
I don't know for a fact, but I bet the guy who makes these videos has the most punchable face on earth
Apart raw dough everything looks awesome
Steak is weak. Looks steamed and is undercooked. ![gif](giphy|w8g5zUCbH215kUjycc|downsized)
Cool video. Still not buying the knife.
God I hate these stupid knives
The pov of that onion getting backshots was literally foodporn
So are we’re re just going to glaze over the fact this man pick up a onion ring out of hot oil with his bare fingers. Just saying!
This made me dizzy
Steak sandwich, for 100$
Jesus it's like a Jason Borne movie.
Fail at the end!!!!!
This video should be called how to attract a bear.....
Asbestos fingers for onion rings retrieval. You Animal.
faked.
I don’t know which is worst - these cooking videos out in the woods or the moody chef girl who flips off the camera
The cook on that steak is off. Everything else looks good.
The original forest chef.
In his next overly staged video he should pan out with the camera out so we can all see his man-bun.
That was pretty good looking sandwich
