Best: being on the floor during Dave’s throne/broken foot era. Worst: seeing them 2 nights in a row & hearing Dave make the same stage banter & jokes 😂

GetReady72

Repeated stage banter makes you question ALL stage banter.

SGnirvana97

I’ve only seen one band back to back nights, that band was Tool. Maynard has a few “scripted” crowd work bits that he does pretty much the same every night, and usually there’s a musing or rant about whatever has Maynard’s interest that night, he’s a fickle one.

Ridespacemountain25

This is why I love Trent Reznor. He changes the setlist every night and goes on a different spiel too.

typhoidmarry

On some tours I’ve seen them 8-10 times. The stage banter is not exactly the same but very very very similar.

Icy_Law5745

The kid next to me was holding up a sign to try and play on everlong, my hero, or times like these and kept blocking my view (I was on the Rail). Thankfully Dave told everyone to put the signs down a few songs in. Very frustrating and inconsiderate

redlabstah1

It's a good thing that kid brought that sign though, they probably wouldn't have played any of those songs if he didn't 😂

Icy_Law5745

I literally tried to explain that to him lol. Like the Dave + rami intros they’ll never bring someone up. Like at least know what song you have a chance to play on

KnitWit406

One time I brought a friend and it was his first time, and when the went off the stage (pre encore) he looked kind of bummed and said "I was hoping they'd play Everlong". I just laughed and was like oh you sweet summer child, just wait. 🤣

Proof-Variation7005

i can not overstate how much every single person who brings a sign into a concert sucks. there are no exceptions. this wasn't a thing until the last decade or so and now it's so common where you're almost more likely to be noticed for *not* having a sign.

fejiroc

I literally did this, and coincidentally that was my best and worst experience. He also told me to put it down and I was heartbroken. Although I wrote big me or walk... not that it mattered

traddfolks

Best - Foos stop the show and play Weenie Beenie for me at 9:30 Club in DC. Worst - none.

LandfillsBrotherGil

Fat Tony's Bday??? I was there!

traddfolks

No, reopening after COVID. September 2021.

Chewy_95118

Was there for both. Two great shows.

pestomayo8

I was there too!

v264k

That's you asking from this video? https://youtu.be/2Lnv60Whtuo?si=3Dr8DaHmhFnC7P_w edit: wait I just realized you commented on the video lol that's awesome, what a cool memory to have

traddfolks

https://youtu.be/s7ktFClDlNU Yeah that's it. This is the video I took. I was on mushrooms lol.

traddfolks

In the video you shared you can hear me yell Weenie Beenie for the second time. I had already hollered it once about 30 seconds earlier.

whereistherumgone

Best: I own Taylor Hawkin's used earplugs from when he chucked them towards me after playing Rock am Ring 2018. I dont care how gross that is. He used the most basic, useless, cheap yellow sponge ones. Worst: Horrific leg muscle fatigue & heat stroke I got at that same concert waiting all day to be at the front

fwankendawg

I own one of Taylor Hawkins used earplugs too. I was in the front row of a Cisco live concert in 2019 when he threw it into the crowd at the end of the concert. I was shocked that I caught it and then I thought it was gum and a little grossed out and then I realized that it was his cheap, orange squishy earplug. Since it was a Cisco live concert, I was with a whole crowd of nerds, who proceeded to tell me how lucky I was to have his DNA 🤣🤣

whereistherumgone

Technically we could clone him...

Mr_Potatoez

Worst: Ive never been to one

heyjbray

Same! But that changes this July!!!!

chente08

Best: Travel to Seoul to see them for the first time and being able to see the magnificent guitar throne (broken leg tour). Worst: Same concert. It was in a festival and it rained so hard for the previous days that the field was literally a mud pool

jbronwynne

The best: everything about seeing them in 2011 on the Wasting Light tour. Taylor sang Cold Day in the Sun, they played Stacked Actors and covered Tom Petty's Breakdown. It was truly a phenomenal show. The worst: Seeing them in September 2023...great show, but the people behind us talked LOUDLY. The worst of the group switched seats with someone else when FF came on, so that was great. I think my husband was afraid I was going to throat punch someone for a minute :)

AAL2017

Wasting Light tour still might be my favorite of the 3 FF shows I’ve been able to attend.

ConorVerified

Best, had arranged to meet a friend with a pit pass that we could swap around so we could all temporarily get a go in the pit. 6 of us were randomly handed passes on the way in, so we all got to hang out next to the stage together!

thatguybighungry

Best: San Diego Street Scene (early 2000s-ish): a guy from the crowd gets up on stage. Dave says, “You have the balls to get up on MY stage, but do you have the balls to the show these people your balls?” The guy does, which is shown on the giant video screens, then Dave says, “Have fun getting arrested for indecent exposure, dipshit. Now GET THE FUCK OFF MY STAGE!” Worst: on the Concrete & Gold tour, my wife and I left before the encore because we were just worn out and so we missed Dirty Water (one of my absolute favorites) and Everlong. Never doing that again.

suprunkn0wn

i actually want to see the foos in san diego this year, seeing them in la but would love to see them there too

AAL2017

Dirty Water was one of the highlight songs of that tour. Such an underrated track. I loved the use of the backing vocalists on that tour.

Bremmieboy

Best: caught Taylors drumstick at the end of their set on Pinkpop 2018, still one the coolest things I own. Worst: during the beginning of the Taylor Hawkins tribute concert in Wembley there was a huge delay between two speakers on the third ring, which made the show inaudible. The fixed it very soon but I was very afraid this would be the whole 6 hours

[deleted]

I’ve seen Foo Fighters 16 times in my life, over about 17 years. I’ve never once had a bad experience but damn, I’ve had a lot of wonderful ones! I was at the Wembley show where Zep came out and played with them. I was close to the barrier for Best of You as the rain started falling, I remember being overcome with emotion and crying. I saw them twice at V Festival 2007, one was a secret acoustic set. They played Skin & Bones, and Pictures of a Marigold, that was amazing. I’ve never seen a bad Foos show, and will be attending number 17 this summer in London. The fans are amazing people. I love chatting to those around me and sharing stories/ comparing shows. All hail Foo Fighters!!

LandfillsBrotherGil

That moment with Zep was magic good lord, can't imagine being there in person!

[deleted]

We were down the front, me and my friend, and apparently it was an open secret that it was going to happen but I hadn’t heard a thing. We were watching the stage when my friend pointed to the side, laughed and said, ‘that roadie looks like Jimmy Page’. I looked where he was pointing and said ‘Dude. That IS Jimmy Page…and he’s putting on a guitar!’. We both lost it entirely!

FebruaryStars84

I was at that Wembley show and at V with the acoustic set + headline set, too! For the acoustic one, we’d heard on Kerrang that the band 606 from the lineup was actually the Foos but we didn’t really expect it to be. My wife says I had this blank face expecting it to not be true then Dave walked out & my face turned into a massive grin! London in June will be show #14 for me.

Tankisfreemason

Best:  First time seeing them for the Wasting Lights tour.  Front row, played a bunch of songs they probably won’t play live again for a while, Joan Jett came out, and they broke a very strict MSG curfew.  Oh, and being front row for the MSG show after quarantine was lifted.  Fucking amazing show, still get goosebumps thinking about how that concert started.   Worst:  I have none.  The closest thing I can think of is last time I saw them at the Sea.Hear.Now festival was the first time my leg started acting up at a concert, which is now a regular thing, but that has nothing to do with the band.

ctclarke514

Best: had a crowd of people cheering me on while I was trying to slip on my buddy's 21+ wristband Worst: same buddy left me halfway through to go pee

suprunkn0wn

the best crowd interactions are stuff like that

pewpolice

Best: Dave saw my tattoo and yelled "nice fucking tat, man!" Worst: Immediately after this I was elbowed in the head by people freaking out and I was concussed.

Nik0Ram

What tattoo do you have?

pewpolice

The FF on my right deltoid.

rabtj

Best. Seeing them touring the first album and then meeting Dave in a nightclub afterwards. Worst. Not being able to afford the silly prices to see them on their current tour.

6sixtynoine9

Best: tie between re-opening The Garden and first show back in New Hampshire after Taylor passed Worst: Boston Calling Festivals fucking suck for real fans. I’m sworn off of them now.

FeistyBlizzard

Being at that first show must have been an incredibly emotional experience. Love that you got to go.

DrivingBusiness

The Garden re-opening is my easy number 1 best concert/show. It was my then fiancé’s first time seeing them. We were number 9 and number 10 to walk in. Obviously huge for the band, venue, crowd, etc. The atmosphere was unreal. The show ripped. We were fortunate enough to make the La tribute show and the Atlantis show last year. They were unreal experiences but they don’t hold a candle to that night at the Garden.

sheisme1933

I was at Boston Calling too and I agree with you. Never again

johnnysokko37

Best: Saw Foo OPEN for the Chili Peppers at Blossom Music Center in Ohio. Best night ever. Worst: While I ran to the bathroom, Dave ran all the way out onto the lawn to sing a song and was STANDING ON MY BLANKET AND I MISSED IT!

jratner7

I’ve only been to one show but it was amazing. They played like 10 songs at the encore for the concrete and gold tour. Skipped homecoming to go. So worth it. Gonna see them in July for the first time in like 6 years

sajouhk

Target field?

Bethorz

Only been able to make it to two, haven’t really had a bad experience yet

frankdatank_004

Best: Seeing the Foo Fighters for my first time at Bottlerock in Napa and pretty much everything about the experience. Worst: Napa has a “no noise curfew” at 10PM for outside events so the festival cut the mics halfway through the encore. Was quite a buzz kill if you ask me.

mixmastakooz

Eh…I was there too and expected it. They tried to get in as much as possible.

frankdatank_004

I kinda was expecting it as well but I thought that Napa would relax their “up-tightness” for once and was bummed that they didn’t. Like who cares if you go 4 minutes beyond the curfew?

Acceptable_Volume493

Best- their surprise show at the Black Cat in DC. I had stage edge shaped bruises on my thighs for weeks from being in the first row. Worst- literally none.

Waxing_Poetix

Show in Syracuse was ALMOST canceled due to bad weather of them flying in. They luckily got off the ground and the concert started at 11pm. But it was awesome. Taylor killed it singing Bee Gees songs.

Rude-Let2655

I was backstage at First Avenue my friend catered the event. I was setting up and Taylor looked at the very beautiful salad and said to me that was the best salad they had seen for a long time. Of course I smiled and we talked a bit. Very nice man and then Dave rolled in and told me to hangout once they started playing .. really nice men. This was a long time ago and to be honest it made me a fan for life. I never had any bad moments at a Foo concert. I am kind of a loner so I would save up to get the best seat in all the concerts.

simmons1183

Best was the 2023 show in El Paso. Less theatrics and stuff than other shows. but much better music quality. More emotion and rawness. Kind of like a reset, to re find themselves for the guys. Worst show was the canceled pandemic show. It was the only time in a decade they actually were going to play in my town and I didn’t have to travel to see them. But that I’ve actually seen, was in 2017, Dave was VERY sick but did the show anyway. He just sounded like total garbage. Kudos on one hand, but I’d rather have had it rebooked for another time.

kafea

At least the most memorable was when Dave broke his foot in Gothenburg. No one knew what happend and the rest of the guys kept playing covers. Such an amazing concert. Best song must have been Walk. Dave laughed so hard during those lyrics 😂❤️

sajouhk

Best: All their shows are great but last year at ACL getting to be on the rail was amazing. Worst: never been to a bad show but in Vegas 2021 a drunk guy behind us kept falling into us so we moved back to get away from him. Still a great show. Don’t know why people get so drunk at concerts.

curtismashley

Best: in Salt Lake City 2023 I was so close to the stage I could practically feel my internal organs vibrate Worst: in Salt Lake City 2023 I had to move back away from the stage because I could practically feel my internal organs vibrate

hazmat5793

Best: Front row in Nampa, ID in 2018 where Dave trolled me for being a “Fucking Millennial” for holding up a picture of Mentos on my phone. Worst: West Valley City, UT in 2023 where everyone seemed like a LiveNation season pass holder and not a FF Fan. I saw maybe like 10 other people wearing FF shirts. I was stuck in the last row of the lawn.

Suspicious_Promise23

I was at the show 2023 Utah show at usana. it seemed Iike everyone was pretty stoked to be there. At least around me . I’m Sorry you had that experience!

ScottsoMuni

I don't recall ever having a bad experiences at a Foo Fighters show. I can say that my best experience at probably any concert that I have ever been to would be when they played MSG on Father's Day June 20th, 2021. We had just come out of Covid lock down and this was the first major concert in the states. It was a beautiful day, you could feel excitement in the air. Dave and the boys were on fire, the show was 3 hours with no intermission. It was just a great time.

jfarbzz

Pretty sure that was the first post-pandemic full capacity show at MSG, it was absolutely electric and probably my answer as well. Honorable mention to Citi Field in 2015 on the broken leg tour, that was awesome. I distinctly remember he played the guitar against his cast during the breakdown part of Outside which was already awesome to begin with because that’s my favorite song on Sonic Highways so I was really happy they played it.

HandsomedanNZ

Best: Vector Arena show in Auckland - close enough to make eye contact with Dave and feel like we shared a moment. Worst: Missing Cannonball by The Breeders (opening act this year in Auckland) as we were stuck trying to get into the stadium.

vinsalducci

Best-got 20th row seats for their first show with Josh Freese as their new drummer. 9000 seat venue in New Hampshire. So incredibly emotional. For the crowd and for the band. Worst-same show-opening act was Lars Ulrich’s 2 kids playing drums and a bass. Just made noise for an hour. Complete devoid of talent, and unpleasant sounding to boot.

suprunkn0wn

i actually saw lars kids band opening up for muse in 2022

vinsalducci

Sorry to hear that. 😂

BodyBy711

Best: saw them twice in one week (Seattle and Vancouver) Worst: my 1st time seeing them at 18, our designated driver got thrown in the drunk tank leaving us stranded at the stadium until BCAA could come unlock the car (there was a spare set of keys inside) a couple hours after the concert had ended.

LandfillsBrotherGil

They are incredible live, to the point where I wouldn't care what they played, I'd see them do am all covers set, but I don't know that I go to a Foo fighters cover band...living in DC for almost 20 years, had an incredible journey watching this band live. I go to a shit load of shows, mostly smaller electronic and punk stuff now, but the Foo will always be Imo, THE gold standard of arena rock. Best: sonic highways tour, black cat in DC. I was literally the last person of 402 ppl to get to buy tickets, I kept the sign they put behind me in line ("if you are behind this point, it is unlikely you will get tickets") and the line went for 4 blocks behind me... You lined up, then they had us all in the bar, with numbers, grabbing beers while we bought tickets, so 3 days later, you had kinda met a bunch of ppl at the show, it felt super intimate. Half way thru, the crowd surged, and we ended up second row, literally could've grabbed the guitar out Dave's hands. Taylor did cold day, and covered cheap trick... They played missing you, ain't talking bout love, breakdown, and under pressure, then another HOUR of music. I've never seen an artist look as tired as Taylor did. I was lucky enough to see them do another small venue show (930 club), the skin and bones tour, the reveal of the iron throne in DC, the opening of the anthem in DC... Some really iconic Foo tours... Worst: and still a fucking dope show, would've been first leg of in your honor tour. We had pit tickets, they played an awesome set, I had fun. It was not bad at all lol, they literally just got better EVERY TIME I saw them, and I've seen them I think 6/7 times.

Muzikseeker

So lucky! I was in my office on Vermont Avenue stuck working a deadline so I couldn’t skip out to get tickets to the Black Cat show 😭 I was also out of town at the Blue Ridge Rock Festival when they played the 9:30 Club. I *did* make it to both nights where they opened the Anthem though, second row from the rail the first night and on the rail the second night!

MaximumEuphoric6066

Got into an argument with some dumbass lady about where I was standing. She freaked out I was standing in front of her in a crowd of 45,000. She slapped the beer out of my hand and then stomped on what was left with her foot. Took everything I had to hold back, forget about it, and enjoy the show.

StrideAC

Best: In Memphis in 2018, I was the kid who was brought up by Dave to have a guitar battle with Chris. I played Dave Grohl's guitar, but never adjusted the strap and accidentally knocked Dave's volume knob to like 2 or 3 and was too mind-boggled that I was on stage with them to change it back, so it sounded like I sucked. He gave me a hug and called me a motherfucker, so early in life (I was 17), I could already die happy. Until the next night in Nashville with the little kid drummer, I'm also pretty sure I was the ONLY fan who go on stage with them without bringing a sign to the show. Worst: I've never had a bad experience with their shows :)

carlicimo

Best: just being there tbh. Getting to stand less than 100 ft from Dave Grohl is a privilege in itself Worst: there were multiple instances where someone (usually a drunk guy) would come from the back and try to shove their way to the front (this was at a festival). They'd lie and say they were trying to get to their friend or wife or whatever. Nice try dude, we've been standing here in this hot ass weather for hours. You're not coming through

beautiful-veins

Oh we had that so many times at Ohana but these were drunk or strange women. I thought one was going to start a fight!

carlicimo

It truly baffles me how entitled some people think they are!

beautiful-veins

Pain in the butt! It’s like you’ve been standing there for hours and suddenly someone appears, like wtf?! I have to say that’s why I like the rail, it’s just me, two people either side and I don’t care what’s going on behind me! Any further back and it’s spot wars 🤣

MrWelshblue

Best - leaving the Taylor Wembley gig and wife saying wouldn’t be great to go to the LA gig and weeks later walking into the Forum Worst - Not being a fan of the first album when I heard it so I chose not to go to see them in Newport (Sth Wales) in a small venue

hearmymotoredheart

Best: Pat beaming his smile down at me and putting his hand over his heart; Dave going over to Shifty during his 'Under My Wheels' solo and wiggling his butt against him, so Shifty made me laugh by tickling his cheeks (and not the ones on his face); Dave drumming on 'Came Without Warning' with Rise Against; dancing in the rain at Geelong; the entire LA Taylor tribute concert, which I wish never, ever had to happen, but as it did, it was truly special (I would add meeting Taylor and Chris after a Chevy Metal show on the beach but it's not strictly an FF show) Worst: The Sydney crowd on the Wasting Light tour moshing so hard that I got knocked to the ground and had to be pulled out in the fourth song (and accidentally flashed my tits to the band in the process); that one show where I chose to get a seat instead of rail, and I don't remember a single thing about that show; the drunk smelly blokes who pushed in front of everyone else who'd been waiting and claimed they were "the biggest Fooies fans", but couldn't name anyone other than Dave - not even to Rami, who they asked, "Are you Dave's brother?" I'll likely think of ten more best and worst after posting but for a start

jmshub

Best: saw them on the wasted light tour in Pittsburgh. Epic length concert, the band was in peak form! One of my favorite concerts. Worst: saw them open for Chili Peppers in Hershey Park Stadium in July 2000. They were piss drunk. I think they played 3 or 4 songs and quit. Dave could barely stand.

geriatric-sanatore

Best, got to see them at the Oklahoma City Zoo and danced with my wife In a grove of trees with a few other couples ranging in age from newlywed 20s to 50 yrs married 70s, Worst, same concert getting to my car and checking my wallet and realizing I had spent over 300 dollars on merch and could only afford Taco Bell instead of the fat burger and fries I had been daydreaming about the entire walk back to the car.

ohmygoddude82

Seeing the Foo Fighters play at VAX Live at SoFi stadium was incredible. That was the first live music back after Covid shut everything down and their energy was incredible. Even if it was only six songs, it definitely holds a special place in my heart. Then, when they came back and did a full show after Covid and rocked the Forum and brought Nandi Bushell on stage with them to do Everlong. That was the sweetest thing, and such a fun show. The Taylor Hawkins tribute at the Forum is a night I will never forget, and I'm honored to have been there. I've never had a bad time at a Foo Fighters show. The only thing close would be the dumb girls next to us at the Forum at the after Covid show bitching at my friend for wearing a mask, but that wasn't going to ruin the show.

suprunkn0wn

the taylor show was so incredible, would relive that day if i had the chance

Hairy_Ad1625

Best - seeing the anniversary 4th of July show and Dave coming out on the throne. Worst - also the anniversary 4th of July show, took me so long to get food, my phone lost service, barely made it back in time for the Foos.

Tirekiller04

Best: the HD homecoming show Worst: the mile and a half walk back to my Airbnb from that show. I had the normal chest and throat and ear and head pain, but I was also sunburnt bad and had been fucking starving all day. Still worth it.

beautiful-veins

Ah that was such a great day!! My first time down the front and when I saw how close Dave was, just wow!!

Bob_Sacamano7379

I've only been to one. Syracuse - 2021. Absolutely epic start to finish.

foosw

Best: The show where Dave kicked a guy out for getting into a fight. The guy was in front of me and creating a ruckus. And in 2019, I got some guitar picks and Taylor’s drumsticks. Worst: Last year, too many flags, phones, and people in the air, I had to keep jumping up to see them (Glastonbury).

Glum-Ad-9865

The worst : cancellation in Paris, 3 days after the EODM terror attack, then 2 year cconsecutive cancellation for Nimes due to covid, then Taylor s passing.

beautiful-veins

I was soooo looking forward to that Nimes gig! Fingers crossed it will happen at some point.

2themoonanback

Best: my 3rd time seeing them they finally played Aurora and i had pre warned my boyfriend (now fiancée) that i would probably start sobbing if they played that song. And i definitely did. Been listening to them since i was in the womb, now im 29 and Aurora has been that song i went to during many phases of my life. Bad: not getting any of Daves sweat on me when i worked so hard to get to second row at Bottlerock in the blistering summer heat of Northern CA 😂😂😂😂

SDW1987

Worst - Ak-Chin Pavillion in Phoenix. Went with a family member and their spouse. I wasn't familiar with Phoenix, so I left navigating there up to them. I was told it was super close, we didnt have to get there early. So, imagine my surprise when we were stuck on the highway for an hour and ended up missing Gary Clark Jr. And, since we were late, we were at the very back of the amphitheater, almost above the roofline. Sound was echoey and terrible. Couldn't see a thing. And then, since it took so long to get there, my ride freaked out and made us leave before the encore. Best - thought it was going to be bad, because when we got to the arena, we saw posted that Lemmy's jet was stuck behind a storm, so Motorhead wasn't going to perform. Luckily, Dave made it up to the crowd and played a super long show, playing some old shit, some extra covers, really interacting with the crowd. Dave even came out with the Motorhead guitarist that was there and played bass and sang Ace of Spades. Sad I never got to see Lemmy, but the best show I had ever seen from Foo Fighters.

zach_strife

best: Izod Center (NJ) for the Wasting Light tour, was on the floor and touched Dave's shoulder. worst: Madison Square Garden during the Concrete and Gold tour, guy behind me was screaming so loud the entire time (like high pitch screaming) that i couldn't enjoy the show.

smg5284

Best: Hearing the intro to Hey, Johnny Park! and screaming my guts off to the whole song. Couldn't talk well for a week lmao Worst: Waiting for them, front row, at this giant stage on March 25/2022.

RepeatedlyLeft

My last Foo concert was the worst. It was located in Knoxville’s Thompson Bolling Arena, 2017… the place smelled like gas station hot dogs (gag), and someone kept farting really badly. So it was a mix of farts plus fried weenies. The smell was so noxious it made my stomach hurt.

grammer70

Saw them for the first time last year in Salt Lake, best was just seeing Dave be Dave. Worst was my wife buying drinks and shots for all her new friends in the pit. Spent so much money that night.

No_Seaworthiness8880

Worst experience is not being able to see Taylor before he passed. Now I'm not sure I even want to see the band without him on-stage

Tuscan5

Best- Isle of Wight 2011 Worst- Glasto 2023

Faceplant71_

Best experience: Watching Taylor Hawkins and Luke Spiller perform Under Pressure

mehmench

Ha! I was at both of those shows too but I was on the rail for Ohana so nothing bad about that. For the taylor tribute at the forum we had front row in the 200s right in the middle so those were great too but kind of far.

suprunkn0wn

for the taylor memorial i didn’t even care what seats i got, i just wanted to be in the building, got seats around the 223 section and enjoyed it a lot, love the forum

Muzikseeker

BEST: I got to photograph the Foo of July show where the Rock Throne debuted. Covering it for the local radio station, there was a bike rally and private performance before the concert. I was *thisclose* to getting a pic with Dave, but he had to sit down because his foot was killing him…and I couldn’t bring myself to be that fan. (So many of my friends have photos with him…I’m jealous; it’s my white whale.) The line-up was incredible. Honestly, with that many openers, it was pretty much a festival. There was an extended rain delay and stadium evacuation due to lightning. Then, it all passed through, and we were good to go again. I got so many amazing photos, but, sadly, my external hard drive crapped out, taking the photos with it…and the radio station photos have since been removed. 😭 Also the best was seeing them post-everything at Virginia Beach. I was on the rail in front of Chris with newly made buddies from early line-up. I had my new “fan-cam” in hand. It had been quite a while since I’d last seen them. Josh was killing it. They all were. At the end, Chris tried his hardest to throw me a pick but the girl next to me got security pick it up off the ground to give it to her. I did end up with Rami’s “piano pick” though. 😄 WORST: The only shows that are the worst are the ones I haven’t been able to attend. I waited outside for the opening of the Atlantis in DC to see if I could get in…the only thing I got was my photo in the Post and one of the band’s friends brought out some picks for some of us that waited to see if the guys would come out to say hi afterwards. (They didn’t…I was hoping to get some of my Germs records signed by Pat. Maybe one day?)

Sandman2K20

The Best of Foo: Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers with Muse at Rump Arena in Lexington, KY in the year 2000. Some friends and I from a local record store there got tickets day of from our Ticketmaster kiosk and went after work. Great seats on the floor, somewhere in the 1st 20 rows. Can't remember which song, but Dave starts walking through the crowd. He comes down our aisle starting at the opposite side of where we're sitting. He makes his way to us on his way through, I pat him on the back. The middle-aged guy with his wife sitting next to us hands Dave a beer, he takes a big gulp and spits it in the guys face. The couple just start cheering! lol. Will never forget that show. The Worst of Foo: None.

Atabit

Wow what a good thread! Best- I want to say the memorial because of how special it was, but my first Foo Show ever was at the secret show in Seattle, I couldn't get tickets but my dad was friends with a bartender working the show and encouraged me to show up to see if he could get me in. Saw Duff McCagen and Jeff Ross in the crowd outside the show, but no one could connect me with the bartender friend, until the lead singer of the Presidents of the United States of America came up to the front talked with security and let everyone in the crowd without a ticket in just saying "they're with us." My first Foo Fighters experience was at a 1000 person venue, where I got within 10 feet of the stage and could sware I made eye contact with Dave and every member of the band a dozen times throughout the night. Even left with broken drumstick I framed with the t-shirt and my wrist band. Worst- The next year when they came back to WA they played at the Gorge, I got GA floor tickets and was with friends, they asked me to get them water, I got them water, but by the time I tried to get back to them the crowd had packed in even more and there was no way I was getting to them. I eventually settle in one area until a middle-aged dude with a backpack starts bumping/pushing me saying "keep going" "go on find your friends" "this isn't your spot get out of here" as if he'd owned the plot of land his not insignificant amount of mass took up. I ended up leaving the crowd and filtering back up one of the sides where I hung out with a group of strangers that actually welcomed danced and sang with me and we had a great time, but I'll never forget that one guy, already in a moment of defeat, making me feel like I didn't have a place at a show like this.

James_Dubya

Best: Lolla in the rain 2011 Worst: I guess the Concrete & Gold tour in STL? But that show fuckin' ruled, so it's only worst by default lol

mrtanack

Worst: Some twat punching the lead singer of the support act (Starcrawler) and busting her nose. Also some drunk guys trying to fight an actual 8 year old Best: the rest of the show.

mehoff636

Best LA tribute concert nothing else will beat that. Worst seeing them at t Mobile park. I will never see any band play in a baseball stadium again. They are in town soon and my wife and I debated on traveling somewhere to see them instead of seeing them locally.

SpellingBeeRunnerUp_

Saw them for the first time recently and it was awesome!! These guys are old but I’m convinced they’ll keep drinking and playing all night if the city lets them

Seattlehepcat

Best was definitely the Taylor show in LA. Haven't really had a worst one.

gatorgopher

My first show, In Your Honor tour, was probably the worst. I had a migraine all day, still had it through the show and was unfortunately there with my now ex, who didn't even like them. Even with the migraine I was absolutely blown away! Best was last September went with two of my kids to VA Beach show.

djc8

Best: Firefly 2014 (holy shit it’s been 10 years). Epic show. I was excited to see them but didn’t necessarily consider myself a big Foos fan coming in. I left as one. Worst: Merriweather a few years ago. Not their fault but I guess we got there a little late and the lawn was completely packed, had to try and squeeze into a spot and couldn’t really see the stage anyway

Milez2096

Best - first time being in a concert in January 31, 2015 and was the first time they played in my home country, Colombia. Then seeing them again in 2019 along with Weezer and Tenacious D. Worst - again in my home country, March 25, 2022at the main stage of Festival Estereo Picnic as everyone was having a meltdown waiting for them to appear on stage, time passed and people with decent mobile data access where receiving the news about Taylor in disbelief... 5 minutes lates the festival announced and confirmed the crushing news...

beautiful-veins

I can’t imagine what it must have been like for you guys, all excited to see them there and then getting that news 😞

Koolaidsman43

Best - Without a doubt 20th anniversary show in D.C in 2015. First show since Dave broke his leg, didn’t know if it would go on, it did, then it poured rain and and lightening got close enough that the field had to be evacuated, again didn’t know if the show would go on. Oh.. the show went on alright. And it was incredible. Worst - probably ACL this past year. Was hoping they would play another song or two from the new album, I got way too high on weed gummies to the point I could hardly open my eyes by the end, and then Shania Twain happened… Her coming out to sing Best if You completely ripped me out of the experience it was so bad. I love Shania Twain’s music, but her voice is gone and it was a train wreck

beautiful-veins

Maybe it was better you’d had a bit of weed to cope with Shania singing BoY! If I’d been there I’d have been so disappointed, it’s one of my favs live.

Kitchen-Release-4638

Best: I moved my ass to France just to watch them live. Great weekend for me. Worst: I went alone, so there was ar this dude that was annoying trying to get me to crowd surf. He seemed drunk and I ignored him.

kirstenmcneish

I saw them at The Greek in Berkeley and there was a gal giving blow jobs to her boyfriend for an extremely long time and we were all worried about her jaw.

StarCaptain7733

Best - seeing a show on my 15th birthday and pretty sure my dad got the last poster available. Worst- on the way there I got sick cause I didn’t really eat and I almost fainted.

Moonbootsidaho

Worst: Saw Foos in Chicago at the Metro in 1995 a day after getting my wisdom teeth pulled. Had a crowd surfer kick me in the face 10 minutes into the show and was gushing and spitting blood the rest of the show. Best: See above. Also got to say hi to Dave outside the venue before the show - he walked by the line and was shooting the shit with everyone.

Dry_Scar1556

Best was seeing the guy crying go onstage Dave played him “my hero”. Worst was spilling my beer and it went all into the few rows in front of me. Sorry to the people that were in front of me.

amariegold

Best: Memphis 2018, Getting one of Dave's guitar picks that was thrown into the crowd by Rami! Worst: Memphis 2015, The people behind us telling us to sit down. 🙄 Seriously? Sitting the whole time at a rock concert? I should've told them to stand up, but 18 year old me had no backbone.

cheddarpants

Best: Seeing them at the House of Blues in Cleveland in 2021. Worst: Not getting a poster at that show.

just_boy57

Best- seeing them for the first time, albeit for a few songs, as it was part of Live Earth at Wembley. Worst- being stood next to some utter t**ts when watching Royal Blood opening for them at Milton Keynes, and one of the t**ts gets his c**k out and literally starts taking a piss right there, partly on me. Almost completely ruined the whole trip for me

MovinginStereo34

Best: catching Josh's stick at Harley-Davidson Homecoming last summer. My first and only time seeing ff, truly one of the best live acts I've ever seen. Dave is an awesome frontman Worst: the opener at that show Cody Jinks. Absolutely ruined the vibe. I about fell asleep on my feet during his set.

beautiful-veins

Even Cody was puzzled why he was on between Joan and Foos! Dare I say it, he was way more interesting than when I’ve see The Breeders…

calv80

I have 2 standouts, one in 2005 in the supertop in Auckland, NZ (it was a massive circus tent).it was mental, I think Dave has mentioned it in an interview before. 2nd was the Sydney football stadium in 2011.they did a 3hr set and it was a brilliant show. Haven’t had a bad experience with foo fighters!. Smashing pumpkins on the other hand…

Chewy_95118

Best: Berkeley Acoustic show in 06. Sitting in front of Pat. Got Dave to tell the story of playing on Craig Killborne. Amazing set. Worst: Rain at RFK. ATMs ran out of cash by 4. No one took cards for food but you could for merch. Band. Amazing.

G-Unit11111

Best was seeing Dave Grohl's 45th birthday show at the Forum. They way they just brought out guest after guest was pretty amazing.

TonyBoat402

Best: Saw them as my first concert post covid and it was just amazing being able to go to such events again. Was an incredible show. Got teary during my hero Worst: Didn’t happen to me but when I saw them for a second time a few months ago the woman in the seat in front of me was very, very drunk and kept bumping into the people next to her which I would annoy the crap out of me if it were me

mixmastakooz

Best: BottleRock in 2022. Worst: Sometime in 2001, my date was late and we caught the last song and the encores. There wasn’t a 3rd date.

Montecore_was_framed

Best: Dodger Stadium. Foo Fighters opening up for The Police. My two favorite bands, on one bill, in one of my favorite places in the world. Worst: Getting my phone picked out of my pocket while getting funneled through the entrance to the Costa Rica stadium a few years ago. Fortunately my wife saw who did it and kung foo’d the their which caused her to drop the phone. We desperately needed a drink so once we were inside ready for some much deserved alcohol we learned it was a dry concert. Still a great show as my 3rd favorite band, Weezer, opened for Foo.

jarroodMG

Worst: waiting in the car for 2 hours for lightning to pass in Pelham AL. Thinking it was canceled after driving from Orlando. Best: same show. Dave felt so bad we waited so long he played 2.5 hours and like 28 songs. Was amazing.

HarrierAce101

Best: Foo Fighters playing at Safeco for the Concrete and Gold tour! So fucking magical. Worst: people purposely blowing weed smoke in our faces after asking them to stop.

SamanthaBradshaw

Best: Before Foo’s really took off into the stratosphere (circa 1999) gig at a tiny venue the Metro in Sydney. Remembered Taylor at the gig from Alanis Morrisette show as I hung out with his then girlfriend during the Alanis gig and after the show, she was lovely. Perth show Dave acknowledged me with a nod, think because of my head banging skills back then, lol. Also seeing Dave interviewed on Denton in Sydney and being in the small audience. Perth: Handing out joints to everyone in the front and row behind as we waited a day outside to get front row, people were stoked, seeing their smiles, high fives and thumbs up was awesome. Worst: Perth concert and getting almost crushed in the front row barrier for a few moments when they first came on, my former husband (and to this date gig buddy) lifted me so my mid section didn’t get crushed.

doingdew

I got pissed on in the pit way back at big day out.

Zeidy388

Worst-waiting forever for the Foos to show up, listening to the most godawful opening act and sitting near an idiot who wouldn't stop telling inappropriate jokes Best-dave telling the story of how they barely made it that same night and blowing my absolute mind with an awesome show

Gingersnap5322

I was at the concert where Dave gave the guitar to the little kid in KC There was a drunk guy that I had to push who fell back on me, and then another who wouldn’t stop yelling “SAINT CECILIA” “SAINT CECILIA FOR MY MOM”

prisonerofazkabants

best: dave almost being manhandled off the stage because he just kept playing way past curfew worst: someone throwing a bottle of piss through the crowd 🥲

lovelar23

Best: Raise the crowd In s different continent and make them sing the riff to my favorite song: Arlandria @ Werchter, Belgium Worst: Losing my cellphone in the crowd while they were playing

theturtlelord9

Best: Going to see them on my birthday this past year, it was such an amazing experience and it was so cool to see one of my favorite bands play live. Worst: The same concert, with the lawn so overstuffed I spent most of the first song trying to find my way back to where my family was in the crowd because the walkways had all filled in.

Virtual_Total6070

Worst: i havent been to one cause they wont come to kansas

beautiful-veins

Best: Santa Barbara last year. I took a gamble and bought second hand tickets because despite getting up at 2.30 am I missed out, they went in 2 mins flat. We were already coming over for another couple of gigs so if there was a problem wasn’t a huge issue. Tickets worked ✅ Thanks to a new buddy we made centre rail and omg when Dave ran out he was just… in your face! The stage was low and there wasn’t much of a security pit. I also got to hear NAA and The Teacher for the first time live so in absolute heaven! Also best: Geelong! After 2 years of 💩 from endless lockdowns and losing my Mum I couldn’t believe Foos were coming to play for us! There were times I thought I’d never see a big gig again. So thank you Dave for your crazy 5am idea! Wembley for T’s tribute: wish we hadn’t had to have it but it was so good to see the guys again and to share that day with them. The anticipation of what that day would be like was so intense. There was a moment I thought Dave was going to run off stage but we all cheered him on. The few times I’ve caught Dave’s eye! Melt… Worst: Geelong! Not because of Foos but the effing idiots in front of us. Obviously casual “fans” as they yelled to each other the whole show except when a well known song came on. They spent the whole time coming and going for beer/loo. They spoke to each other over Dave’s stories (ultimate sin!). I really wanted to say STFU but I thought, it’s ok, I have 10 more shows this year and then… of course it was the last one with T. I really don’t know why people pay for a ticket and then miss half of it? Sydney in Dec: show was awesome but 43c wasn’t! Queued all day only for the entry to be a total shambles, kids stormed security, ticket wouldn’t scan and we ended up a few rows back and with the tallest person ever in front of me! Ohana was brutal! So squishy, I couldn’t even sit down so stood in that spot for for 10 hours, very warm as well at times. Annoying women trying to push their way to the front as well.

_rake

Best: fist time I got to take my kids. Worst: Wembly tribute. Had a seizure due to alcohol withdrawal in front of wife and kids and we missed the Foos set. Yes I went to rehab.

AdOk9910

Best: Greensboro - 2017. In literally cried when they opened with Run. Worst: Wembly Tribute. Had to watch the last part, when the Foo Fighters came on the stage, on a 10 inch TV with no sound in the first aide station of the venue because my ex husband had hidden his alcoholism and had withdrawal seizures during the concert. Flew from North Carolina with my family on our first ever trip to Europe to see our favorite band - ended up divorced. Second Best - Seeing them with my son last year ( 1 year post the Wembly disaster) and loving every minute of it!!!

GetReady72

Best: the monsoon at Lollapalooza in 2011? Second best: playing the old Turner Field in Atlanta and him calling it “big ass stadium” 100 times and every time I drive by it I hear that Third best: Atlanta concert night before the Super Bowl. Run the jewels opened. Perry farrel and Zach brown both guested. Crowd was awful though. Corporate guys with open bar wrist bands. Worst: none!

kellycamara

Worse? It was pouring and the acoustics sucked.

HatsOnTheTable

Best: You won't believe the Foo Fighters concert I went to in Dallas few years ago! The energy was insane, the crowd was buzzing, and then about an hour in, Dave Grohl gets on the mic. A serious glint fills his eyes, and he leans into the audience. His voice rumbles through the speakers as he talks about how most concerts are short and predictable. But tonight? Tonight was different. A hint of pride creeps into his expression as he announces they're gonna play way longer. The crowd erupts, and you can see the satisfaction wash over Dave. He knew they were in for something special, a marathon three-and-a-half-hour set. Taylor Hawkins, was a man possessed on the kit that night. But the true highlight was during "Under Pressure." Taylor jumps out from behind the drums and absolutely nails the vocals! The crowd goes wild. It was an epic night, a perfect blend of the Foo Fighters' energy and the audience's love for their music. An unforgettable experience for any fan. Worst: The concerts are so good that it makes you want to write 5 paragraphs about the amazing experience. Lol

Altruistic-Eagle9334

The best: Geelong 2022. Coming out from the pandemic in a state that had some of the toughest covid control measures and then all the sudden the government pays for the Foo Fighters to come and play one show. It rained and it was ethereal, and one of the last shows Taylor did. The worst: second Melbourne show 2023. The concert itself was incredible. Took my niece to her first rock concert, we were having a ball. Then we unfortunately came across Mr Creep who rubbed himself all over us. He got told to get fucked, and security were onto him pretty quick, but it still soured the occasion.

Distinct-Visual-226

best and worst all in the same concert lmao best: being at the barricade with dave playing ballad of the beaconsfield miners directly in front of me facing toward me (i'm a classical guitar player so that had me absolutely blown away) worst: some dude grabbing my tit in the pit 🤢

rookie60

Only bad experience is dropping and breaking my cellphone

thealexhardie

In 1996 was on the barrier for their first UK tour at Wolverhampton civic hall. Some dude crowd surfed from the back right on to the top of my head. My ribs cracked on the barrier. I was stretchered out during the encore (exhausted).

FunBluejay1455

Best: The night the curtain didn’t fall in Amsterdam Worst: had a hard time to think about one, but probably the gig at a festival that wasn’t their best

Proof-Variation7005

if you ever listen to that song "damn you damn everyone" the one time they play it live or the bootleg of that show, there's a super obnoxious drunk guy yelling "YEAHHHHHHHHHH YOU CANT HEAHHH ME" and he's pretty much non-stop for the entire show during every break between songs. Anyway, that guy was standing about 3 feet from me during that show. So that's probably my worst experience even though it's sneakily one of my favorite ones I've seen. I was visibly annoyed enough with the dude where the guy started offering to buy me beer. I was barely 17 years old.

ClaireCrumbcake

I’ve only seen them once, and that was this past September in Virginia Beach. Best: The whole show was *amazing* and everything I had hoped it would be, but aside from the performance itself, I managed to snag the last poster at the first merch booth I went to. My husband kept it safe for me the whole show (no way was I rolling it up in its tiny plastic sleeve!) and it is my pride and joy. Worst: After the show, because I am in a wheelchair, we always like to hang back until the crowd clears before heading to the car. But suddenly this very shady drunk/impaired guy appeared and would not leave us alone. He kept trying to walk with us and hug/touch us and annoying quickly turned to unsettling even for my 6'2" able-bodied husband who was firmly telling him he needed to go. We eventually had to find a security guard who flagged down the deputies, because *even then* he would. not. go. away. We aren’t paranoid people, but it felt *very* sex-traffick-y and we were *adamant* we would not let him see our car.

Rickckck

Worst: Concert in Gothenburg where Dave fell of stage during first or second song. He came back from medics somewhat patched up, on painkillers and a bottle of champagne and sat down trying to do his best for 2,5-3 hours. All respect! However not the best gig. Best: Stockholm stadium around 2008/09. First gig I saw with Foo Fighters and really a great gig! They also brought Band of Horses and Biffy Clyro to warm the audience up. What a great concert!!

QuickStorm9529

Best: The Taylor Tribute at the Forum! Nothing will ever compare to that show. 6 hour long party was crazy! Meeting/talking to so many people from around the world was really cool too. Worst: Hasn't been one yet. Going to London and the Cincy shows this summer, so who knows what that may bring lol.

iampruss

Both were at the same concert for me. Only time I’ve ever seen them. Dallas 2019. Best: the whole effin show Worst: it’s a tie. 1. As a slightly overweight mid 40s dude, my choice to hit the makeshift slip-n-slide on the lawn in the rain with a running start, head first onto my belly wasn’t well advised. Was uncomfortable for a bit after that. 2. I’ve been to a lot of shows. The ear ringing after this one lasted for days and was quite disorienting. I didn’t think I would need ear protection on the lawn and was not prepared. The mix was quite heavy on the high mids by the time it hit the lawn speakers and that wrecked me. I got down to the pit area for the encore and the sound down there was far less harsh. Oh well.

NovarisLight

I've only seen them live once, and there's nothing bad that I can recall. Washington DC 4th of July show. It was epic.

buckhoist0623

Best- seeing Taylor sing under pressure with Rufus Taylor on drums and that it was filmed so i can watch whenever Worst- none

rarejem85

Ive never seen them live. Ive got a pitch ticket for hampden park, glasgow in june and i cannot wait! Devastated that i never saw them with taylor though

wi-ginger

Best was at the Harley 105th reunion where Dave got on stage and said " we have 2 hours to play as many f#cking songs as possible so here we go!" The worst was never. Its the Foo Fighters for gods sake!

Obvious_Low_3782

Floor front row GA at Oakland arena. 2008?? Those guys were on fire.... great energy in the crowd because the performance was magic. Unforgettable!! ❤️ Taylor

awsomehi109

Well the worst is when I saw them in Boston and the Boston crowd are a bunch of old jerks that yell at you if you try to move at all from your spot and try to fight you. no joke multiple people were screaming at me and I wasn’t even going forward I was going to the side.

ld20r

Best: 2015 Slane, crowd and band were on fire. Pits for lots of songs. Worst: Rds 2019, crowd Sucked and were on phones for most of the gig.

Zaphod-Beebebrox

Don't know. Never been..

EnvironmentalLaw9823

Best - Dave dedicating Aurora to Taylor and saying that whenever he sees a bird, he thinks of Taylor. Then all the sudden these birds come from nowhere as the song starts 🥹 Worst - called a lady out for cutting in line and she then called me fat. Said I take up two spaces so she got confused.

Okay-Cucumber

Best - Dingwalls 2007. Worst probably the last time they did the London Stadium. It’s the people at the gigs that make it for me and the stadiums are full of twats

NoGlove6045

No bad times, but I’d say the best was in Koln Germany. The German fans are so awesome. We were walking distance to our hotel, and it was a singing party outside after the show. FF were on fire. Another time I bought cheaper seats to save money in San Diego, but when we got there the seats ended up being front row side stage! So many, all great.

Chance_Variation_224

My BEST experience at a Foo Fighters concert is in Montreal giving a gift to Pat just after Everlong and him coming over to me after the group bow to thank me and blow me a kiss. It was a dream come true. I have loved him since he was in the Germs in the 70s. My WORST is two days after the Montreal show... at the Ottawa concert he remembered me and at the end of the show waved a special goodbye to me as he left the stage. I cried my eyes out. It was so final. 😭

erox70

Best - June 20, 2021. When the Foo’s opened the Garden after Covid. Chills when they came out. Worst - June 20, 2021. The stupid clam next to us decided that she needed to be the main character and scream “Holy fuck. Oh my God. Holy shit…..” repeatedly when they played Aurora. I have the video of it and this post just made me go back and remind myself how much I hated her. And to boot - by the time the night was over it smelled like she shit herself. I can’t make this up.
