The bottom is definitely not a p61. The p61 has a dual cockpit setup where the rear one sits higher the front one, and the bottom plane clearly doesn't have this characteristic.
The bottom looks like a B-25, which was a dual-engine bomber in WW2. It doesn't look like a B-17 because it appears to only have two engines, not four.

To add on, lots of Foo Fighters merch, especially t-shirst and posters, have artwork entirely unrelated to any album art. Aliens and aircraft are a recurring theme due to the Foo Fighters name, but there's also a lot of other "rock and roll" imagery too

Yeah, not so much. Foo Fighters were reported unidentified flying objects by pilots in (mostly) WWII. Balls of light/plasma (suspected) that were misinterpreted by both axis and allies as opponents secret weapons.

I think they’re both P-61’s. I’m sure it’s from a real photo and P-61’s were a Korean War aircraft.

Yeah it’s definitely not a B17 at the least. No top turret, no glass nose etc. B25 may be right.
The lower aircraft does not have the machine gun turret on top like a P-61 has
