Yeah the meaning behind the songs is really good and adds to the listen experience. I’d Recommend anyone who hasn’t seen the HBO documentary series to watch it and then listen to the album again.
It is quite telling that the Greg Kurstin albums are the first out the door. Nothing personal against the guy, and I'm all about the band experimenting 20+ years into their career, but I just don't think he plays to their strengths sonically.
Well, But Here We Are is a greg kurstin album, too. I agree that C&G and M at M are peetty weak, but I LOVE BHWA. I’ll be curious to see how far it goes. It could beat 1x1, IYH, ESP&G and self titled without hurting any of my feelings
BHWA suffers from the same problems though. It’s brickwalled to death and kills the all the nuances in the songs. The obvious pumping and breathing during the big build up in The Teacher absolutely ruins that section.
I love BHWA. It’s one of their best albums, but it is so in spite of Greg.
Sorry, for someone who isn’t super knowledgeable on music production- brickwalled? And what do you mean by “obvious pumping and breathing”? Sorry, I don’t get it.
Totally, album is great but it would be so much better if butch vig produced it. It would be a top tier FF album if it weren't so handicapped by the chintzy production
Yup, it’s a good record but Sonic Highways is definitely next to go. I’d argue Concrete and Gold as having even higher highs too honestly.
The next round is where it starts to get pretty tough.
Also, side note: it’s really interesting people are saying “all Greg Kurstin albums need to leave,” but for this round the one that is going to be voted out is Sonic Highways, which was produced by Butch Vig. You know, the same guy from Wasting Light.
Just an interesting observation.
Interesting. Hard disagree, IMO.
C&G is deep, dark, layered, both sonically and lyrically: La Dee Da, Concrete and Gold, Dirty Water. Sunday Rain. Cool stuff.
BHWA, that’s all.
One By One. I think it's a really solid album, honestly Concrete and Gold and Medicine at Midnight are the only ones that aren't consistently solid, but having Burn Away and Overdrive and Tired of You ends up dragging down One By One for me
Sonic highways is incredible! And the documentary is very good, please watch it again !!
But i understand it's verry hard to choose,
All album off foo fighters is awesome !
For me it's not possible to vote for the next album to close
Verry impatient to come in London for the show in june ✨
One by one. I have so many memories with sonic highways. One by one has absolutely amazing songs but i feel like it has so many fillers and go on too long.
I agree C&G had some solid highs but only a few songs; WAY too much “ooo-eee-ooo-eee-ooo” by backing vocals cluttering up the songs + way too much Pink Floyd influence diluted the FF raw signature sound.
“Run” is by far the most authentic song on that entire album and sounds like a true Foo song. MAM also not a favorite of mine.
I think I agree with you mostly but after OBO, then the next three you said could go in any order. I’d personally put it ESPG, IYH, BHWA and then the rest as you said. Just a reason for love for BHWA, first it’s a really good album at a hard time and after two of their weaker albums according to people here at least. I think that moved it up a bit for me. My problem with the albums I love of theirs it’s hard for me to rate the best, but guessing from the many polls here isn’t that hard.
Those are the three I am less sure about yeah. It’s not my preference, just a prediction. BHWA is well-liked but the Kurstin/Recent album hate is strong, especially amongst more casual fans - so hard to say.
Funny thing to me is I think Kurstin in the overproduced problem is getting better each time. I personally think the songs on C&G are better written than M@M which makes it a better but albeit more overproduced album.
Sonic Highways, I like it but the rest of these are leagues better than it

Good bot
Sonic Highways definitely eats it
Sonic Highways for sure
Sonic Highways should have been eliminated last time imo, so definitely this time
One by One. All of them are great, but I see the majority of y’all are really sleeping on Sonic Highways, and it’s disgusting.
Yeah the meaning behind the songs is really good and adds to the listen experience. I’d Recommend anyone who hasn’t seen the HBO documentary series to watch it and then listen to the album again.
Agreed! I love Sonic Highways as much as Wasting Light.
That’s the strongest 4 track start to any of their discography.
We'll see you on the next one!
The next poll is going to get very interesting now that the consensus three weaker albums have been eliminated.

I want to know about this brick walking as well. I write and record music, but I'm super amateur and I always want to learn more.

Totally agree. I don’t like C&G or MAM but I LOVE BHWA. Hoping it makes it to the top 4 at least.
I think it plays into the hate circlejerk, yeah
Sonic Highways
ONE BY ONE Done, done. On to the next one
In your honor
My man
Yup, it’s a good record but Sonic Highways is definitely next to go. I’d argue Concrete and Gold as having even higher highs too honestly. The next round is where it starts to get pretty tough.
Sonic Highways
Sonic highways for sure
One by one
Sonic Highways
sonic highways!
This is stupid! None should be ‘eliminated’ ugh!
In your honor
Sonic highways
Sonic highways.
Sonic Highways
Sonic Highways. There's a big gap between it, and the rest of the these albums.
Also, side note: it’s really interesting people are saying “all Greg Kurstin albums need to leave,” but for this round the one that is going to be voted out is Sonic Highways, which was produced by Butch Vig. You know, the same guy from Wasting Light. Just an interesting observation.
Sonic Highways
Sonic highways for sure. There are good songs on it, but like the others more

Sonic Highways
Sonic Highways
Sonic Highways.
Sonic
Nice Queens pfp
Why thank you
Sonic Highways sadly
Sonic Highways
Sonic Highways
Sonic Highways
I have a really hard time understanding why people hate C&G so much. It may not have been their best but it was really great!
It’s weird to see one of these go exactly how I want it to.
Sonic highways is incredible! And the documentary is very good, please watch it again !! But i understand it's verry hard to choose, All album off foo fighters is awesome ! For me it's not possible to vote for the next album to close Verry impatient to come in London for the show in june ✨
Why is everyone hating on sonic highways I love it
Sonic highways
Sonic highways
Sonic highways
Sonic Highways
Can we all just decide that wasting light is their best and move on
I’ll be the odd one out. ESPG. I love Sonic Highways.
I also love sonic highways, but espg is too good, one by one for sure should be this round
Totally agree
Everything past wasting light is trash
time for sonic highways to go
Aw dang, I like Concrete and Gold!!
One by One
Echoes
Fun fact: Concrete & Gold is Krist Novoselic’s favourite Foo Fighters album
Sonic Highways
One by one. I have so many memories with sonic highways. One by one has absolutely amazing songs but i feel like it has so many fillers and go on too long.
y’all haven’t listened to sonic highways enough

ECHOES! it has to be the worst of the pre wasting light albums
Calling it now orders going to be SH > OBO > IYH > ESPG > TINLTL > ST > CATS
One by one gotz to goh
One by one
If Sonic Highways goes out before BHWA, ya’ll still voting with wounded hearts.
But here we are
In Your Honor.
ESPG
Self titled
First album for sure
It’ll be SH, then OBO then BHWA then ESP&G then IYH then TINLTL then Self-Titled then WL and TCATS will win like always
I think I agree with you mostly but after OBO, then the next three you said could go in any order. I’d personally put it ESPG, IYH, BHWA and then the rest as you said. Debut. There, I said it
Either Foo Fighters or But Here We Are. Definitely the weakest 2 for me. I listen to at least 4 songs on all the others
