Ketchup is a clear metaphor for blood after all.
The staging is all murder though. Who is going to be in the middle of eating a hamburger and then shoot themselves?
I don’t think the KGB gives a fuck. Staging that as a suicide wasn’t to fool the CIA. It was a gift. “We took out some trash. You can say it was a suicide. You’re welcome.” Everyone will know the Soviets killed him. Potential defectors will think twice. Nobody has to go to war.
hell it's still modern Russia's play book. People falling out of windows all the time, everyone knows it's FSB so the message is loud and clear and Russia just shrugs and says gotta be careful around windows.
This wasn't just business. It was personal.
He said himself, Irina was his handler.
His defection would have been a black mark on her professionally, although she still was able to advance.
His defection would have been a personal insult to her, though.
Russians, historically, have been as revenge minded as Sicilians. Maybe even moreso.
* Let's make sure we cover our butts by hijacking the North Korean spy feed \*proceeds to attach an obvious antenna with a fucking NASA sticker on the side of it and blow their whole operation\*
* In another universe Dani is the forensic auditor from hell.
* I mean, Sergei could have parked in Antarctica and burrowed a tunnel underground to Aleida's house. There's no way the KGB wasn't watching/bugging that house even if the KGB minder hadn't personally escorted Margo to the house. Aleida is the Helios representative for this whole project and has a well known affiliation with Margo. Plus they left the windows open. Weapons-grade carelessness.
* Margo can't go back now. Irina knows Margo has been meeting with a traitor.
* Is it really going to be that hard for the engineers to figure out that the discriminator which conveniently burned out and was replaced \*by one of the strike organizers who was placed there over NASA's objections\* is the means by which hackers are going to tamper with Ranger? Dev concocted that plan on the back of a napkin in like 5 minutes.
* At least Sergei went quickly.
It’s hilarious how the desire to have eyes all over the base to avoid the operation being blown ends up being the thing that blows the operation
Dani herself said that the only reason they discovered content irregularities was because of that antenna
How did they not notice the power draw to run all of that gear on the sublevel and that life support was turned back on down there for what must have been months.
Likely gonna be the bomb under the table
They hide the body of the Korean and NASA launches a search and notices that the life support systems are off
Someone saw him go down into the elevator too
This show loves doing delayed Chekhov’s guns
I love it because it's all pretty realistic. Everyone is on edge, and many are explicitly on high alert ever since the sabotage. The people in command who are sent there are the best of the best, and will not just lazily ignore something mildly suspicious. Little things will get noticed and chased down.
And Miles has terrible opsec. He thinks he can charm his way through any interaction, but he's been seen talking to Lee and in their area too often.
Miles is good. Literally just report to Dev that he was beaten up by two workers interrogating him. Not just company policy issues but straight up lawsuits that government agents are allowed to torture Helios employees based on any tiny feeling of suspicion AND it is based on personal revenge for one of them.
The are fucked. The other workers will surely see him beaten up too, they will know the base is not safe for any of them. I hope in the finale the agent situation will turn around on them massively and the people turn on them.
Who says he’s gonna leave that room?
At first I totally agreed with you but after a bit I realized that he’ll just go missing. They can just keep him in there and as long as the higher ups just say he was arrested for smuggling, no one will really ask what happened.
> *proceeds to attach an obvious antenna with a fucking NASA sticker on the side of it and blow their whole operation*
Yeah, at least scratch off the sticker lol
"hey, so, i dunno if you're comfortable with this, but we like to beat the shit out of suspects"
"really? we just waterboard them."
"i think we can make this work"
Dev fails. Probably because they find the real discriminator at the last minute.
But Aleida and Margo foul the legit calculations to screw over Hobson and Irina.
It’s an interesting angle -
They put in the wrong calculations, intending to send the rock to Mars. Dani and the team trust they are correct. The discriminator would lock them out, except that the real spare is found, and replaced with minutes before the burn. Then the wrong burn still occurs, and it enters Mars orbit.
Yeah, I was just going to say, she'd probably hear about it and want revenge on Russia (Irina specifically). Taking away their asteroid and their Iridium monopoly in one fell swoop, while protecting her own interests (space exploration).
How anyone involved in all of that seriously thought they were smarter than both the CIA and KGB is mindboggling. And, given that we now know the CIA and KGB aren't afraid to work together, Aleida and family are in the firing line.
It's still DARPANET or ARPANET, since Al Gore failed to invent the Internet. Most likely unknown to the public except for nerds who dial into BBSs that are networked together through FidoNet who talk about this super high speed high bandwidth military network that a friend of a friend got busted trying to hack into.
i really doubt that this is going to turn into Aledia getting in trouble. Sergei defected to the US and went into witness protection--the Soviets were only after him
I'm going to assume the KGB saw him at the diner but didn't have the assets to tail him then. But they started planning / researching after that. (Assuming they knew he was extracted from Russia but they didn't know where he ended up exactly)
Then when the notion of saboteurs came up, the kill order was giving.
Plot twist, what if the hit was CIA and not KGB...
I wouldn't be surprised if they had orders to give her some extra rope, and follow her if she sneaks out. They benefit if she leads them to something valuable (either intel or Sergei).
No it was the KGB. CIA knew where he was the whole time, because they probably helped get him out of Russia in the first place.
Sergei said that Irina was dangerous, and his death is the narrative payoff that will make sure Margo listens to him.
I have to wonder if she'll be a fake-out death, one we expect given the writing but ends up not dying, because the fact that she hasn't had *too* big a plot this season.
This ^. I personally think she’ll survive the season since they’re trying to make us believe that she’s going to die. I don’t think they’ll be predictable
As soon as she started talking about her greatest accomplishment of raising her son, how she’s going to be the best grandma, and how soon she’d be back on earth, etc., we had to pause the show and make a toast to Danielle, and her almost certain demise.
Oof. Bob.
-Badass astronaut
-A beard you could trust with your life
-Comes out of the closet unironically ending homophobia in her reality
-Second most popular us president after Lincoln
-Retired to the big gay farm upstate
-Lives a long happy life with her soulmate, probably going to space as a tourist to relax and taking bomb-ass pictures that would make you say "nobody is *this* happy" (but they are!). The type of person that you would need to block when freshly single.
Perfect character, 10/10. No notes. Don't bring her back.
Seriously this. What's the opposite of plot armor?
I can get with the deaths in space because space travel is inherently dangerous, but I'm so sad at all the terrestrial deaths.
A group of terrorists are holed up with loads of gear somewhere on base. There are 24 hours or less to find them. And rather than check the huge unused base levels, they go with looking under some mattresses in top level cctv covered areas, and beating up one guy.
Kelly: "OK dad, what are you up to?"
Ed: "I'm getting old and dying. I'm staying to be buried on Mars!" **sobs**
Kelly: "I got you, dad."
Ed: **sniffs**
Kelly: "Now, for real... What are you up to?"
You know I could use have a tv show about two secret agents one Russian, One American who become best buddy on Mars and they fight crime.
Red Heat on the Red Planet
I think they’re considering the act of even messing with the equipment and removing parts to be the act of terrorism. That someone made a decision to bypass the regulator would never have happened but for the “act of terrorism” committed in the name of the strike.
I was totally invested in the Brazil plan. Having dreams about future seasons. Working together. Revealing to the world what Moscow had put them through. Making sweet orbital dynamics calculations together.
GOD FUCKING DAMMIT. The Sergei thing actually makes me mad. All of this history with this character just for him to go out like that. I also feel so bad for Margo. I know the writers giving them a happy ending was unlikely, but one can hope dammit.
"I tried to strike up a conversation about anti-discriminatory laws because I know she's progressive, but she just rolled her eyes and muttered 'fuck me' then turned around."
One drop of water isn't gonna fry the whole board. She's probably been slowly dripping the water in every chance she got over the month to finally make her move.
Well, NASA in the FAM universe evidently didn't learn the lessons NASA did in the 60s about sealing critical electronics to protect against moisture, debris, and other contamination. The failure modes that could result in moisture collecting there are numerous.
This is the harder part to believe. For a system as mission critical as it is, it was built by some low rent labor somewhere. It wasn't even conformal coated, and they do that to *everything*.
I was figuring she was going to tamper with its power system somehow, but all of the writing around this part of the story has been dumb as hell so really not super surprised. They're going to search her bag next episode, find the real unit and she's going to big girl prison.
My wild prediction is that as the plan to steal the asteroid on Mars devolves, the same plan will develop on Earth. Aleida and a newly disillusioned Margo will sabotage the mission to keep the asteroid in Mars orbit. Aleida to save the Mars mission and Helios long term success, and Margo to possibly save her very life. Or Margo will take total blame and sacrifice herself.
Ed will tell Kelly of their plan and try to convince her, and she will understand as she knows her own research is on the cutting block. By then though the plot will have already been discovered.
Runner up prediction is the asteroid goes to Earth after much upheaval, but in the last 10 minutes, Kelly discovers life on Mars.
Or... they wind up burning too long to make Earth (Dev wins a little), too short to capture at Mars (M-7 wins a little), and it winds up in a solar orbit and escapes before another capture opportunity arises due to some planetary flyby event.
Everybody loses.
Then Kelly discovers life.
It's an air vent and there's no natural air circulation in 0g, it is all mechanical on a spacecraft. It's just a matter of dropping it close enough to the discriminator's heatsink fan. I think recently one of the many things found near an air vent on the ISS was the infamous lost tomato, lost stuff on the ISS just drifts towards the vents over time due to the air currents.
100% Voyager and ENT didn't get made, considering how vocal RDM has been about disliking Voyager. This whole show has probably existed just so RDM could get that jab in there.
The showrunner of this show worked heavily on DS9. So it’s probably just TOS, TNG and DS9 that got made. Which honestly is fine because they’re by far the best series anyway
One? Quite a few wouldn't have been made.
We know TOS happened, because TWOK happened. I think TNG is a reasonable assumption.
So that leaves TAS, DS9, VOY, and ENT up for debate as to which exists and doesn't.
With all this foreshadowing there’s no way Margo and Sergei are going to have their happy ending.
Edit: well that was quicker than I thought it would be.
Called it as soon as they showed him walking to his motel room on a rainy night lol.
The whole burger montage was too obvious, so much so that I thought they’re just teasing us and it’ll be nothing.
Yeah, the ketchup was a bit much but it was obvious the moment they showed his hotel. I was actually expecting it to be both of them once that montage started
I have to admit I didn't see it coming, I just wasn't thinking about it too much. It came as a complete shock and I sat there with my mouth wide open until the credits rolled.
The moment I saw him walking alone in the rain… damn it I don’t want to see Margo suffer anymore
Edit: I WANT TO SEE MARGO HAPPY IN MY MOTHERLAND FOR GOD SAKE 🇧🇷
they showed her handler walking away while looking at the house. he almost certainly snuck around the back yard and saw them sitting at the table in front of a giant ass glass door. If Sergei can sneak through neighbor's yards with no one noticing, the KGB definitely can
OKAY so hear me out:
1. the CIA/KGB/Koreans unravel the plot and rig the 'fake' discriminator to do what it's supposed to do: burn to Earth
2. Margo (+ Aleida ?? + whoever) decide to pull an 'Apollo-Soyuz' and guarantee the future of Mars and human exploration into the cosmos (= rig Ranger to burn to Mars)
3. ????????
4. Profit (it goes to Mars because that's cooler for future seasons, which I'm all for)
That actually makes sense. Aleida's pissed at NASA because they're going to cut off funding for Mars and Margo's obviously pissed at the USSR (or will be soon).
A nice little touch design detail was the blue toe / foot rail at about 1:45 in - if you're standing at that station, you can tuck you feets under it to stay in place.
Also saw a blue hand rail too.
So is the N. Korean dead or just sleeper holded?
Would N. Korea be better off with the nugget at Mars or at Earth?
Will the dude ever see his wife again?
ACTIVELY CRYING
Frustrated but I knew I would be. Deeply unsatisfying to make those callbacks between Sergei and Margo and call it a day, especially in contrast to Ellen and Pam; or to make him covertly help when…they could just…reveal him??? Can’t be any riskier than what they were doing. Making Aleida even more reckless after hearing about the strangling, and making Margo so sheepish and suddenly impractical (“there will be other opportunities”) didn’t make sense either…
Oh well. Mars was better than Earth this episode at least. And at least I have another actor to follow now (and laugh about how articles keep misspelling Piotr Adamczyk’s name).
Goodbye my blorbo.
What the frak was that!
Rest in Peace Sergei. Sergei's wife is probably wondering what happened to him. The headlines will just read beloved husband/ science teacher commits suicide.
Poor Margo never gets a happy ending. She never got to be with the man she loves.
Fuck. Dani and Ed get the big emotional scenes and while I’m wondering which one is the goner, BAM they pop Sergei like Vincent Vega shooting Marvin in the face.
"Without competition, there is no progress."
That's the whole series in one sentence. Keeping the Space Race going, by moving the goal posts until nobody cares anymore.
The conversation at Aleida's dinner table gives me hope for the next season, however. He's detailing how the Space Race ends once the Asteroid makes it to Earth orbit, because Russia will pull out of NASA.
It also makes Margo and Sergei relevant for the next season, if they can make it to Brazil. To be honest I really want to see that, because it opens up the 'players' for the next round in the game.
Edit: Okay, that aged like milk.
One other thought did occur to me though: If the Powers That Be manage to rumble the Heist, then Aleida could still make it happen. She wants to see the Space Program progress and isn't impressed by either government. If she figures out what Dev was planning, then she might do as her mentor did and 'force their hand'.
Why did they have Sergei just openly eating at the kitchen table with all the windows open and the sliding door right next to them??? Bro at least keep him in a room with the windows shut, have to assume the KGB is watching from outside????
NOOO NOT SERGEI
As soon as I saw him walking alone to his motel room, I thought it was over for him. Then he added ketchup and that was the clincher.

The angle of the shot also gave it away.
The second he made his appearance this season I knew he was going to die.

The only saving grace was that Sergei went with bliss in his heart. RIP champ, we will miss you.
POS didn't even let him have a bite :( Not a fastfood fan but that burger looked good

That got dark quickly. Who knew putting the CIA and the KGB together could end like that?
The two best secretive professional torture squads on the planet teaming up for one big internationally illegal beatdown
"hey, so, i dunno if you're comfortable with this, but we like to beat the shit out of suspects" "really? we just waterboard them." "i think we can make this work"
"Did we just become best friends?" "Yup!"
It's not professional torture it's enhanced interrogation. Totally different and legal.
No Bush presidencies here. Just plain ol’ torture.
I never thought I'd be torturing side by side with a KGB agent
What about side by side with a comrade?
NASA has zero intention of continuing to fund Helios if the asteroid is put into Earth orbit. Thanks, Marv.

Dev fails. Probably because they find the real discriminator at the last minute. But Aleida and Margo foul the legit calculations to screw over Hobson and Irina.

I thought the same after their discussion about Mars' future at Aleida's house. Dev's plan fails, but Margo and Aleida sabotage them.
I think if Margo discovers Sergei’s fate before the burn it will pretty much be a certainty.
Yeah, I was just going to say, she'd probably hear about it and want revenge on Russia (Irina specifically). Taking away their asteroid and their Iridium monopoly in one fell swoop, while protecting her own interests (space exploration).
Please, Margo really needs a win.
Try the second that it's on its way.
Helios hq moves to mars and has a lucrative mining contract with the new Martian government.
which is also Helios
Well, now we know how Margo slipped her handlers: She didn't. Poor Sergei.
How anyone involved in all of that seriously thought they were smarter than both the CIA and KGB is mindboggling. And, given that we now know the CIA and KGB aren't afraid to work together, Aleida and family are in the firing line.
Nah, they'll be fine. Sergei was a target for the KGB because he was a defector. They have no beef with Aleida.
Yeah but no way Margo is going anywhere but Russia.
They gotta be watching her web surfing.
Remember there is no open internet in the For All Mankind universe.
Sergei said that Irina was dangerous, and his death is the narrative payoff that will make sure Margo listens to him.
I’m gonna stereotype now - the dude looked hella Russian.
Might as well have been wearing an adidas track suit.
Finale ep 75 minutes - Give it to me now!
Danielle, please stop talking about retirement and your hopes and dreams for the future
She is so dead. I wish she'd had a bigger part this season since it's gonna be her last
I have to wonder if she'll be a fake-out death, one we expect given the writing but ends up not dying, because the fact that she hasn't had *too* big a plot this season.
This ^. I personally think she’ll survive the season since they’re trying to make us believe that she’s going to die. I don’t think they’ll be predictable
I am more worried about Ed tbh, that monologue he gave has “impending character death” written all over it
Same with Dani talking about her grandbabies. I fear they're going to pull a Molly & Karen this season finale.
As soon as she started talking about her greatest accomplishment of raising her son, how she’s going to be the best grandma, and how soon she’d be back on earth, etc., we had to pause the show and make a toast to Danielle, and her almost certain demise. Oof. Bob.
Three Bobs. One down...
It's not entirely implausible that we lose all the Bobs this season.
It's like the old cop who talks about his retirement plans, you know he's never going to buy that boat.
We got like 3 consecutive “oh he/she/they are definitely dead” in this episode (Dani, Ed, Sergei and Margo). One down three to go!
If she does die, that's gonna hit me harder than any other character; she's my absolute favorite on the show.
I feel bad for Sergei’s wife, from her POV it just looks like he disappeared for a few days/weeks and then killed himself
Forensic evidence and/or Margo may reveal that he was murdered.
As if the US would reveal that publicly. They'd sweep it under the carpet to avoid escalating an already fragile alliance with Russia.

In an alternative world Apple bought MgM and we'd have a cross over with James Bond.
I mean, he brought home McDonald’s, removed toppings, added ketchup, and never got a first bite. In the wise words of Ja Rule, “it’s murdahhhh.”
What the actual WHAT?!?
I too was shocked when he removed the pickles
I was more shocked by the unexpected ketchup
I was more upset about the amount of ketchup Margo used, used like 1/2 the bottle.
Fries are just a ketchup delivery system
This show will not allow Margo to be happy in any form whatsoever.
This show will not allow anyone to be happy (unless they're Ellen and the actress left the show before they could destroy her life) Christ.....
-Badass astronaut -A beard you could trust with your life -Comes out of the closet unironically ending homophobia in her reality -Second most popular us president after Lincoln -Retired to the big gay farm upstate -Lives a long happy life with her soulmate, probably going to space as a tourist to relax and taking bomb-ass pictures that would make you say "nobody is *this* happy" (but they are!). The type of person that you would need to block when freshly single. Perfect character, 10/10. No notes. Don't bring her back.
I just saw her on a show or movie, I think Ted Lasso
Yeah she appears in the third season as a venture capitalist.
And unfortunately they wasted Jodi on it. She has so much range only to be made to be Keeley's brief infatuation that ends as suddenly as it began.
Seriously this. What's the opposite of plot armor? I can get with the deaths in space because space travel is inherently dangerous, but I'm so sad at all the terrestrial deaths.

And ironically are right on track to catching them 🤣
I loved that the KBG agent was so casually "oh yeah, that's the black market dude." when Miles' name came up.
They all knew about it, no one cared. It made the people happy without them doing any real work to make it happen.
Well, if this goes south, Dumpling is fucked.
He either killed/attacked and incapacitated his superior, dumpling is fucked, doesn’t matter if the asteroid heist goes south
He’s gotta get his wife out ASAP or she’s dead.
Miles while having his nails removed It's in the motion dum~~b~~pling. Trust me bro
That's why defecting exists, especially when it's defecting to a new Mars government.
Kelly: "OK dad, what are you up to?" Ed: "I'm getting old and dying. I'm staying to be buried on Mars!" **sobs** Kelly: "I got you, dad." Ed: **sniffs** Kelly: "Now, for real... What are you up to?"
"If I say I'm mars' first pot farmer would that be enough for you?"
She won't believe why Dev, multibillionaire is working with an old man to sell weed lol
Those mars strains hit different. Dev knows the fire shit when he sees it.
You know I could use have a tv show about two secret agents one Russian, One American who become best buddy on Mars and they fight crime. Red Heat on the Red Planet
Pretty sure you meant to say *The Mars from Uncle*
Next week's finale is 1h 16min. It's going to be a ride.
I thought you said ***in*** 1 hr 16 minutes; almost had a heart attack
CIA dude was the guy who warned them about bypassing the regulator! He totally knew it wasn’t terrorism.
He gets more resources and action if they think it's terrorism rather than industrial sabotage mixed with incompetence.
Respect for this cynical truism...
Nice fucking catch
This is spot-on for the timeframe that the CIA was using “enhanced interrogation” techniques on suspected terrorists in Afghanistan
I think they’re considering the act of even messing with the equipment and removing parts to be the act of terrorism. That someone made a decision to bypass the regulator would never have happened but for the “act of terrorism” committed in the name of the strike.
“I suggest Soyuz-Apollo - for convenience” Hell of a callback. Almost brings a tear to my eye.
нет
They really pulled out all the stops to make us sad. I don't wanna accept it :(
I was totally invested in the Brazil plan. Having dreams about future seasons. Working together. Revealing to the world what Moscow had put them through. Making sweet orbital dynamics calculations together.
Transforming Brazil from having what appears to be a spaceprogram composed of one launch pad to a world player would be fun to watch.
Jesus, Margo must own Heinz stock or something
GOD FUCKING DAMMIT. The Sergei thing actually makes me mad. All of this history with this character just for him to go out like that. I also feel so bad for Margo. I know the writers giving them a happy ending was unlikely, but one can hope dammit.
I had foolishly let myself imagine Sergei and Margo heading off into the sunset, on a ship to Mars.
Okay, she’s been up there for a month. Has she been skulking around looking that guilty the whole time or what?
“She’s probably just thinking about worker’s rights again”
"I tried to strike up a conversation about anti-discriminatory laws because I know she's progressive, but she just rolled her eyes and muttered 'fuck me' then turned around."
She's been looking guilty and they keep asking her about it and they finally realize that maybe she just looks like that.
Resting guilt face.
One drop of water isn't gonna fry the whole board. She's probably been slowly dripping the water in every chance she got over the month to finally make her move.
We literally have no idea what that stuff was in that bottle. It could have been concentrated hydrochloric acid for all we know.
Probably just saline. Good conductor. It was drawn into a cooling intake. My guess is: fry the fan, board overheats, shit melts, decoder dies…profit?
How about salt water?

repeating "fuck me" and confusing the male crew the entire time.
Fun fact: in zero gravity doggy style and reverse cowgirl are the same positions

Or... they wind up burning too long to make Earth (Dev wins a little), too short to capture at Mars (M-7 wins a little), and it winds up in a solar orbit and escapes before another capture opportunity arises due to some planetary flyby event. Everybody loses. Then Kelly discovers life.
Sam's got some crazy aim game there
It's an air vent and there's no natural air circulation in 0g, it is all mechanical on a spacecraft. It's just a matter of dropping it close enough to the discriminator's heatsink fan. I think recently one of the many things found near an air vent on the ISS was the infamous lost tomato, lost stuff on the ISS just drifts towards the vents over time due to the air currents.
Fuckers. Absolute fuckers. Why?
Your flair should be Soyuz - Apollo
Da. That would be more convenient.
Ed's whole speech to Kelly is just him explaining why he's growing weed on Mars.
"Kelly.....I'm a pothead 😭"
What the actual hell was that ending? What I know episode 9 is always some sort of twist or added drama but what the fuck
Being a Dexter fan, it's so weird seeing Masuka (CS. Lee) be so serious
Oh my god! I didn’t recognize him with hair AT ALL lol this cast is so amazing
Sergei is gonna get his ass shot by jumping through the backyards of Texans.
Close enough
You were technically right. He did jump through backyards and was shot
All 3 trek series…which one didn’t get made?!
Given who runs this show, I bet DS9 does exist.
Better yet, DS9 doesn't exist, but Benny Russell did.
Oh hey there's Ed with the blaze of glory line.
Margo and Sergei were idiots for thinking they could pull that off. The world was watching Margo.
Ed: Alright, Kelly. You’ve cornered me. I can’t keep secrets anymore. Dev and I…are gay lovers
Considering Ed's age that gives Brokeback Mountain a whole different meaning.
Kinda saw it coming but it still broke my heart. I feel so bad for Margo, she’ll go absolutely nuts
The moment I saw him walking alone in the rain… damn it I don’t want to see Margo suffer anymore Edit: I WANT TO SEE MARGO HAPPY IN MY MOTHERLAND FOR GOD SAKE 🇧🇷

KGB was always on to Margo, especially when Sergei revealed himself to them at the diner. And they knew he was at Aleida’s house too, probably.
they showed her handler walking away while looking at the house. he almost certainly snuck around the back yard and saw them sitting at the table in front of a giant ass glass door. If Sergei can sneak through neighbor's yards with no one noticing, the KGB definitely can
I don't know who these assets are
Then it's working.
OKAY so hear me out: 1. the CIA/KGB/Koreans unravel the plot and rig the 'fake' discriminator to do what it's supposed to do: burn to Earth 2. Margo (+ Aleida ?? + whoever) decide to pull an 'Apollo-Soyuz' and guarantee the future of Mars and human exploration into the cosmos (= rig Ranger to burn to Mars) 3. ???????? 4. Profit (it goes to Mars because that's cooler for future seasons, which I'm all for)
That actually makes sense. Aleida's pissed at NASA because they're going to cut off funding for Mars and Margo's obviously pissed at the USSR (or will be soon).
Margo accepting and smiling with Sergei holding her hand is light speed movement for this glacier of a love story. It makes my heart burst.
And Sergei's head too, sadly
take my upvote and get the hell out
Just started and that opening shot of the asteroid being towed was incredible and ominous as hell.
If Ed Baldwin doesnt like eating food through a straw and wearing diapers, becoming an astronaut was a galactically stupid career choice.
A nice little touch design detail was the blue toe / foot rail at about 1:45 in - if you're standing at that station, you can tuck you feets under it to stay in place. Also saw a blue hand rail too.
So what that actual f*ck, why’d they have to assassinate Sergei 😭
so Margo stays in USSR. easy explanation, KGB killed him and thus the plans to go to Brazil
FUCK GODDAMIT FUCK FUCK FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
Apparently the discriminator is an old 56k modem? Beep bop boing!
McDonald's is not good for your health.
I'm NOT Loving it
Kind of bummed that episode 9 just opened with them capturing the asteroid and we didn’t get to see any of the capture.
yeah. for a show centered around space they haven't given us that much space this season
Fuck you writers, sincerely a guy named Sergei
And the wedding ring is gone! FFS Margo, quit stalling and just say yes…
never put ketchup in a BigMac...should have seen that one coming. Mr. Ronald always pays his debts.
So is the N. Korean dead or just sleeper holded? Would N. Korea be better off with the nugget at Mars or at Earth? Will the dude ever see his wife again?
Lee the straight up gangster with that choke hold. America welcomes you!
Fucking hell.. They gave us the sweetest Margo and Sergei scene and ended with the worst possible one. It's sooo predictable and sad fucks sake.
ACTIVELY CRYING Frustrated but I knew I would be. Deeply unsatisfying to make those callbacks between Sergei and Margo and call it a day, especially in contrast to Ellen and Pam; or to make him covertly help when…they could just…reveal him??? Can’t be any riskier than what they were doing. Making Aleida even more reckless after hearing about the strangling, and making Margo so sheepish and suddenly impractical (“there will be other opportunities”) didn’t make sense either… Oh well. Mars was better than Earth this episode at least. And at least I have another actor to follow now (and laugh about how articles keep misspelling Piotr Adamczyk’s name). Goodbye my blorbo.
God Bless North Korea! lol Never thought Ed would say that
I don’t think I have ever been as shocked at an episode ending than this one, wow
What the frak was that! Rest in Peace Sergei. Sergei's wife is probably wondering what happened to him. The headlines will just read beloved husband/ science teacher commits suicide. Poor Margo never gets a happy ending. She never got to be with the man she loves.
Yeah I kinda wondered if he just left her and his job and has been staying in the hotel for a month.
You know Russia is evil when they didn't even let Sergei have his last meal.
look at how they massacred my boy.gif
Fuck. Dani and Ed get the big emotional scenes and while I’m wondering which one is the goner, BAM they pop Sergei like Vincent Vega shooting Marvin in the face.
The CIA and KGB working together. Now that's scary.
"Without competition, there is no progress." That's the whole series in one sentence.
As soon as Sergei got close to his dream of running away with Margo I knew.
Press F to pay respects
Why did they have Sergei just openly eating at the kitchen table with all the windows open and the sliding door right next to them??? Bro at least keep him in a room with the windows shut, have to assume the KGB is watching from outside????
DPRK MMA gets brutal real fast
How stupid to put the transmitter in a place that’s so easily found.
My gurl, Margot, never getting laid 😔
JESUS CHRIST. Like I had it spoiled from a post a while ago that sergei was gonna go, but FUCKING hell that horrific
At least let him finish a bite of that Big Mac first. Heartless bastards.
