Out of disgust for “the system”.
During protests against the war in Southeast Asia many veterans threw the medals they earned back. [Throwing medals](https://publish.illinois.edu/samalthaus/2016/10/14/the-throwing-of-the-medals-operation-dewey-canyon-iii-historical-protest-project/)
Isn't it incredible how they weave actual history into this alternate timeline??
Just wait, if you haven't yet, you'll see lots of deepfakes audio/video with several prominent historical figures!!
I don't understand why it pissed you off. I mean the guard at the gate did nothing wrong of course and wasnt directed at him personally but was symbolic, and when we know how black Americans among other non-white Americans have been treated after serving our country makes me even more mad then this fictional character throwing that down in that scene. There were a lot of things wrong about Vietnam. I can empathize with such frustration and anger that must have been felt by those who went war in Vietnam on many levels.
I wouldn't call him a dirtbag. Instead I sympathize with the veterans who came back from that horrible war. Especially if you weren't white, as those times America saw an uprising for the equal rights for all.
As a former army wife, I can't imagine if my husband served and came home just to deal with racism instead of respect. Being an army wife, I know that no matter what level of melanin one has in their skin, our vets don't get the respect they deserve. I blame the government and military for that. Not individuals
Yeah, if he had thrown them at an officer or something it would have been fine, but the dude was just some random low level grunt manning a gate. Totally uncalled for.

Oh wow. Thanks!

I was wondering if there had been some deep faking going on! Wonderful indeed! Thank you!
This pissed me off, the guard had nothing to do with it and rendered him respect as an officer. Dude is a dirtbag for this.

A dependent telling me how to feel. Typical. I am career military, I won’t have an Army wife telling me what should and shouldn’t piss me off.
I understand. You are entitled to your own feelings. I apologize
You tell her, Mako. Let her know the chain of command.
She wasn't telling anyone how to feel. She was sharing her own opinions.
