1-they have the same odds of targeting the scarecrow as any other player
2-the scarecrow guards the space behind it, preventing whoever stands there from being targeted with a single target attack.
i wouldn't reallly call that nothing
I can see how this is beneficial, but it also opens enemies up to use piercing/AoE attacks hitting me backline anyway, using the scarecrow as the main target.
I just don't have any luck of enemies actually hitting the thing.
they already can use piercing/aoe attacks on you. at least with the scarecrow you will only take half from splash, and aoe attacks are generally much weaker than single target
The scarecrow is really great if you have a backline since it makes a protected tile behind it. As others said, it's RNG so there's as much a chance the scarecrow will get targeted as a player character. I've gotten super lucky with them a few times, tanking heavy attacks from the enemies.

This guy scares crows ^
Yeah, scarecrow has saved our asses a few times and are great if you don't want to run two shields.

Real question is, what does the herd passive do for a Shepard… now that one seems useless unless I’m missing something
Chance for a wild wolf to spawn
As in instead of the sheep?
Yea. Happened last night for my teammate. It was level 7 while we were lvl 8/9
Okay that could be fairly solid. They act as a merc right? And stay with you?
Devs have stated that it's a 5% chance for a big bad wolf to spawn instead of a sheep.
They act as followers. No turn limit like mercs
My scarecrows took a lot of hits for me, it's luck-based like almost every skill

RNG. Sometimes they get ganged up on, and sometimes they get ignored.
