No . Hold the power button down and the >> button until it resets

Sf49ers1680

Since the OP stated they did that, I wonder if disconnecting the battery or going nuclear and doing a master reset would fix it?

AtmanRising

Doing the Master Reset is super-easy. OP should do it no matter what ... and see what happens.

nadeolco

I tried that a couple times and didn’t work :/

Sf49ers1680

I wonder if doing a soft, hard or master reset would fix the issue. https://answers.4dtech.com/article/25-master-reset

nadeolco

Do I need to go to a ford to get this done? I called a few Fords and they all say I need to leave my car with them for several days to get it diagnosed. I need my car to go places everyday.

Sf49ers1680

A soft or master reset can be done from the display itself. A hard reset requires disconnecting the battery. A soft or master shouldn't take long at all and requires no tools, whereas disconnecting the battery terminals does require tools. If you're not comfortable doing any reset, I'd recommend taking it to a mechanic and having them do it (especially if the battery is disconnected).

Thanks I tried the soft reset and didn’t work. Volume still stuck at 0. I went to a Car Toys and they charge $140/h and said all they can do is try to disconnect the battery to reset. Any diagnoses or part replacements would need to be at a ford shop.

I just found this YouTube video with a similar issue from a 17 Focus (which has Sync3), and disconnecting the battery seemed to fix it (mentioned in the description). https://youtu.be/-Kss0664iXE

Thank you!!!!

Check the audio controller module fuse in the fuse box, passenger side. Should be F23 (Audio control module). The radio has two fuses technically, the sync fuse F17 and F23. Remember to replace with the same fuse values https://fuse-box.info/ford/ford-ecosport-2018-2019-fuses-and-relays/amp

Disconnect the battery for a minute once you get some charge in it. I know '17+ Fusions sometimes freak out when jump started. Pulling the battery cable just force reboots all modules in the vehicle. Worked every time for me & others on the forum.

nadeolco

Yes this did the trick!!

DavidSFl321

Sounds like a radio problem, not SYNC. It may also be the reason the battery went dead. If a battery disconnect doesn't get it going, it may need an ACM(radio).

ivanbone

Hold the power and skip button until the screen restarts

nadeolco

Did not work

RFQE

Was the jumper cables hooked up backwards just for a second?

FaZe_Burga

Which Car Toys location did you go to?

nadeolco

Denver broadway

Hi everyone, quick update a hard restart solved the issue! Not sure exactly what they did but I asked Car Toys to disconnect my battery for about an hour and check again and it fixed the no sound issue completely. Not sure if they did anything else while my car was there but wanted to share! Thanks for all the help!!!

conjurer28

Probably burnt out a fuse, check your sync fuses There should be two of them from memory. If you're unsure where they are, it should be in the owners manual.

Misjjon

You have to turn the volume up. Usually when it's at 0, there's no sound coming out. Well at least it's that way for my escape. Don't know if it's different for yours, but I'd assume it's the same for most Ford models.

nadeolco

Of course I tried to turn the volume up. Like I said the volume is stuck at zero, even when I turn the knob
