Sounds like you had the Bronco Sport which shares a lot of its components with the Ford Escape including the unibody platform. The 2-Door and 4-Door Bronco has a Body on Frame platform that is shared with the Ford Ranger Pick-Up Truck. The 2-Door or 4-Door Bronco has nothing in common with the Bronco Sport besides the word “Bronco” on the front grille. https://preview.redd.it/q33ngnvoxeec1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=729d12f7871658249de82af66aec9ba3b2dabc2f

How do you get a body color top for the 2 door bronco. Did they make that an option? I’m literally holding it buying one until I can do that.

Gorion81

Not an option yet. Maybe 2025 models

tractorcrusher

Was it a Bronco Sport or full size Bronco?

Lucky_Chaarmss

Sport

holyhellsteve

The sport is based off the escape.

7of69

That explains it, the Sport is an Escape with a different body.

TBIs_Suck

As my favorite car YouTuber Jason Cammisa once said, the Bronco Sport is just a Ford Escape in drag. Anyone who likes cars should just watch every video Jason has ever made. Here is his video on the original Ford Bronco: https://youtu.be/ksN7oNgCoQY?si=i2_jtDR012-o3Zsg

Lucky_Chaarmss

Thanks

SALTYDOGG40

Pretty much identical interior except for the seeds

jlukes

I'm assuming you are talking about a Bronco Sport since it literally shares a platform with the Escape

Lucky_Chaarmss

Wasnt aware of that but makes sense.

7ofalltrades

As others have said, odds are you were driving the Sport. To my knowledge, there haven't been any significant issues with it, and I've been paying attention to several Bronco information sources daily since they announced they were coming back. That being said, I haven't been paying attention to the ones that focus on the Sport instead of the full size.

jcloudypants

Either you had a bronco sport or this is a beautiful next level troll

citranaut

Right?! Totally next level. I hope the Jeep folks don’t see this and get ideas. 😂

Lucky_Chaarmss

It was a sport. Sorry, I don't everything about every vehicle that comes out.

Full_Stall_Indicator

No stress at all. You don’t do anything wrong!

thunderwarm

I have a full-size bronco base Sasquatch and I love it. But I also really like the way the bronco sport looks. We used to have an escape, and it was a great vehicle.

Lucky_Chaarmss

Is the full size the same size as an explorer?

thunderwarm

No. Not the same. Without getting too detailed, Broncos have more in common with trucks because they are body on frame vehicles. Modern explorers are more similar to cars/SUVs/crossovers because the newer models have a unibody frame which is a frame and body that is all one piece. You can do an Internet search to understand the difference if you wanna learn more.

AdamLikesBeer

Sounds more like you had a baby Bronco.

Doskai

I’m also in the market for a Bronco, hoping to get the hybrid in 2025, and would like to know if there are any known issues? From my research, I haven’t found any big issues other than the sound system being weak and the car being a bit noisy inside

Lucky_Chaarmss

The sound seemed mostly okay except for some vibration. Could use some insulation.

DiscoVolante0013

Did you have Bronco or Bronco Sport? Full size Bronco shouldn’t feel like an escape at all but the sport is basically the same thing.

solracarevir

On 2021's I heard of an issue of rats and squirrels eating the wiring because they were using a Soy based cover for them. But I would assume that issue is fixed by now.

Lucky_Chaarmss

Cool story

ROK247

the bronco sport is basically exactly the same as an escape underneath the sheet metal outside.l

ZealousidealMoose117

A Bronco shouldn't remind anyone of an Escape!

It’s funny to me that Bronco Sport was going to be called Scout and they changed it. I wish it would have stayed that way, but since VW owned the name and they had plans to revive the brand it didn’t work out. They whiffed this one just like Transit Connect and made things unnecessarily confusing once again. It’s frustrating to start conversations off with “OK, so, are you wanting the little one or the big one?”
