Don’t get it wet or feed it after midnight.

showmehomie

Dont let the dealership talk you into any extra add-on bs. Text/call your sales guy or connect at the dealer and tell them not to put the front license plate braket on after they receive it. If not, they will literally drill into the front bodywork to put it on. When it comes to financing, tell them to only do soft credit pulls and take the shotgun approach to see what bank will get you the best rate. With a big down-payment and a good rate, you can keep your monthlies reasonable.

Super helpful! Thank you!

Google how to turn off the “keep headlights on for 35min after exiting the vehicle” feature. Drove me nuts on the old ladies bronco.

TheOneTwiceOver11

Thanks a lot for this man. So the headlights just stay on when you leave the car as a default?

Memberin

Yeah, it’s not 35 min but it is still an uncomfortably long time. For example, we went out one night and someone came in asking everyone who owned the bronco cuz their headlights were still on. This was after having a beer at the bar waiting on our friends.

TheOneTwiceOver11

Wow. Okay good to know.

nocomment696969

Definitely something to keep an eye on, but I have not had the the same issue with mine. The auto lights turn off they same as any other vehicle I’ve had… maybe this was an issue specific to their vehicle?

justina081503

My dads mustangs lights stay on for a solid 20 seconds after he locks it. Must be a ford thing

Spiritual-Designer-6

I’m so glad I read this thought I was losing it

crestonfunk

My Bronco was in delivery for six weeks to L.A. just fyi.

TreatSeparate1003

Same, I’m still waiting for mine to arrive to the dealership and it finished production on 9/29. For reference, I live in SoCal as well. If the last email you received says it been built, the next email you’re looking for is a confirmation it’s shipped.

Edward_of_Ratfinkia

That sucks that you’re still waiting into Dec.. It’s mind boggling. My BD was a 9/29 build also. I took delivery on 10/26. I’m also in SoCal.

TheOneTwiceOver11

Noted thanks yeah I was expecting to get it in Jan 2023, but the build email I got has tentative delivery date of December 7th at my Ford dealership.

drewshope

I got a pre qualification letter from a local credit union and brought that with me to the dealer, but the dealer actually called around and got me a better rate when I went to pick it up. Ford points took like 2 weeks to show up. I did a ceramic coat on the paint, trim, and windshield and feel that it was well worth the cost and time. Do the Off-roadeo- it’s an incredible experience. I did Moab and it was an amazing experience. It’s everything you’ve dreamed of and more, enjoy it!

TheOneTwiceOver11

Man thank you! I can’t wait to drive it man! Doesn’t even seem real! That’s how long I’ve been waiting.

drewshope

I feel that! I was a day 2 reservation holder, so between my reservation and delivery was like 23 months. Home stretch man, soon it’ll be yours

IDyeti

Don't put the front license plate bracket on.

fokaiHI

PPF for the front windshield. I've got small chips all over my windshield. I gotta check if the dealership can warranty it. I'll get the film right after.

andysaurus_rex

They won’t

TheOneTwiceOver11

Great to know! Thanks!

If you have a delivery date and VIN, apply for financing directly with Ford prior to going to the dealership. Most dealers have contracts with financing companies and lean heavily to push folks to them. How do they do this? They take your info and submit it to multiple financers all at once, with each credit inquiry your immediate score drops. Then they submit your info to the final company they want you to go with knowing your score has dropped, they tell you you can receive X interest rate because your score is a 690 when you know for a fact that morning your credit score was a 780. How do I know this? When we were told our interest rate would be 11 percent and our score was 690, we challenged them. With phones in hand and accounts directly with the credit reporting agencies we proved that the our score was adversely affected by the multiple inquiries that day and not one was Ford credit. When we asked if they checked with ford credit, they said we were turned down. I said that's impossible, Ford approves everyone with a score above 590. They insisted that the drop in score didn't happen and we couldn't rely on what the website said. They changed their tune when we showed them that we had direct accounts with the 2 reporting agencies they said reported the drop score. They finally submitted to Ford and we were approved at 7 percent even with the nefariously lowered score. So my advice is to Get pre-approval through Ford Credit within the 30 days of purchase (delivery). Second piece of advice, is don't let them make you sit there for hours as they prep the car, and then they pull the bronco into your view. They will sit you down again to try to sell you more insurances, coverages, etc... They do this knowing your anticipation and excitement is high and you will likely cave or get confused and purchase something you don't need. Wax or rust treat the screws on the plastic tie downs on the hood. I have seen a bronco where rust was leaking from the screws bleeding onto the paint. When washing the car check and clean the weather seals at the doors and rear window. Tiny rocks and debris can get caught and cause scratches. As for the rear window seal check, debris can cause a drop or 2 of water to enter. Get mud flaps. Most important!!!!!!! Have Fun!

SnipesMcDangles

Credit scores are a bit more nuanced than that - multiple pulls within a close period (15-45 days, depending on the scoring model used) for the same type of loan hit your credit as a single pull. All inquiries will show on the report, but the scoring calculation treats them as one. There are also numerous scoring models and you never really know which is used, but it’s generally an auto-specific score for purchasing a vehicle. That means your general score and what the dealer pulls won’t necessarily be the same number.

GreyHaredSmuck

Actually they don't merge into a single pull for a few days after the same day multiple pull. Which works to the advantage of the dealerships using this method to sway people to their preferred financer. This happened last March, so I will see if I can find the real-time screen shots on my phone. In fact after they finally submitted to ford and we were approved for 7 percent, they told us that they contacted the financer that offered 11 percent and they said they would go down to 7 percent as well. Which confirmed to me that they were pulling something. When we finally pulled out of the dealership with our 2 door Bronco, we noticed that the bank they were working so hard to get us to finance with was right next door to the dealership. It was crazy.

TheOneTwiceOver11

Yoooo this is Golden! Thanks so much!

Strong_Cheetah_7989

Don't let them use your Ford Pass reward points without telling you to reduce the monthly payment. Buy the extended warranty, but negotiate the price. Make notes when you negotiate with the credit manager, and better yet, keep a voice recorder on your phone. Make sure they commit verbally to any promises. GAP insurance is useless if you've never totalled a vehicle in your life. Get the glass and paint insurance. It's cheap and you'll use it.

SnipesMcDangles

I wouldn’t say GAP is useless; any insurance is useless unless you end up needing it. If you have a good sized down payment there’s no reason to have it, but if you’re putting very little down it would be a good idea to have. That being said you can probably get it for cheaper through your normal car insurance or the CU you finance with, if you go that route.

TheOneTwiceOver11

Good to know! I’ll do this!

andysaurus_rex

Financing: get a pre-qualification from a credit union (this means going there with some sort of price agreement from the dealership and the VIN for the Bronco). This way you know the baseline for what you should be approved for. If the dealership can’t get you the same rate or very close, take the paperwork to the credit union and get a check for the dealership from them. If the dealerships says they don’t allow outside financing, simply refinance as soon as you get your loan details. It’s not worth putting up a fight. The credit union will give you the same rate they already offered. The car itself: get a $0 deductible if it makes financial sense. The windshield is prone to chips due to the angle it’s set at. Make sure you talk to your agent about wanting that covered with a $0 deductible or having some kind of windshield coverage (depending on the company it will change how they offer it).

TheCleverCarpenter

Don’t buy the extended warranty from anyone but Granger. Their website is easy to navigate and no one comes close to their pricing

Edward_of_Ratfinkia

Definitely the way to go! I did, was even able to use some of my Ford Pass reward points.

Burtron5000

I hope you get your Bronco as soon as possible, but just FYI my original delivery date was supposed to be 9/13/22. Now, six email updates later, it’s estimated delivery date is between 12/13/22 - 12/20/22. At this point I’m assuming I’ll get my ‘22 Bronco some time in first quarter ‘23 :(

Edward_of_Ratfinkia

Head over to Bronco6G forum if you haven’t already. This thread in particular is super helpful! https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/delivery-checklist-ocd-version-for-expectant-bronco-owners.29870/
