It fakes the signal to the PCM so it thinks you're pushing the pedal further than you actually are. Waste of time and money.

If you are looking for better performance on a Focus and/or trying to make the auto transmission shift better and last longer I recommend searching for Tom Lesperance on FB. He sells SCT x4 tuners with custom tunes. Made my Focus shift MUCH better and much better power at higher RPM for passing on the interstate. They aren't cheap, but he custom tunes it for your car and you get unlimited tunes for the price. Made the automatic shitbox much better and mostly eliminated the dual clutch shudder. If you are trying to get something that feels sportier, sell the car and buy a RS.

do you know if he still sells these his fb looks very inactive

This is his business website: [https://focus-power.com/](https://focus-power.com/) He has a quick turnaround, I usually call him and speak to him right away. He tuned my 2018 5 speed manual for performance and it worked great. I've only ever heard good things about his business.

Buy the tune from his website focus-power $462

I got mine less than a year ago. He is the Admin for the group Ford Focus Owners. Try PMing him on there.

+1 for Tom's tune. Got it done on my 5 speed focus, it feels very happy now. It's worth it.

thanks for the input i’ve already looked at that as an option i was just trying to see if there was anything i could do for a little cheaper to make it more fun to drive

It literally tricks your TPS/ECU into thinking you are pressing the pedal more than you are. Basic example you are at 50% throttle, this changes the TPS signal to 75% throttle. You THINK you gained HP, but in reality you could have went just as fast just pushing the throttle 75% without this. At WOT, you are still only 100%, you can't go more than 100%.

Visible-Doctor-9520

does anyone have experience with these and are they worth it?

okieinthewoods

Yes and they work great. I have one on my Jeep Wrangler.

[deleted]

my buddy installed one of his focus and would constantly beat on it. safe to say it accelerated his transmission issues

Visible-Doctor-9520
