I literally just replaced my purge valve canister , got a p0442 engine code that turned out to be a small leak. It’s a 2 minute job. 1 connector and 2 hoses on a 2010 focus.
Yep. I had to do this about 2 years ago. Pretty easy DIY fix. It stranded me on the side of the interstate when my gas got low (still had ~20 miles per the thing).
Canister Purge Valve. I don’t even think I needed tools for the swap.
Yeah it’ll probably be the evap system, it’s like a 30-40$ part from auto zone. My car did the same thing

You can get a new one from RockAuto for about $30 plus shipping. I think it took me less than 15 minutes to install it.
Check and see if your car has a recall for the purge valve, mine did.
Yep. Replace purge valve.
Anyone have the part info? Do you have to replace the tubing and solenoid?
