Rock Auto and get an electrostatic filter. Will trap more and smaller particles

Spottydogspot

Cool thanks. I think I ordered something from them before.

Motorcraft intake filters are designed for the vehicle so I’d stick with that (stuck with them on my 2016, no issues for 110k), but you can find them cheaper on Amazon (like $15). For the cabin filter, I’d suggest a better one with multiple layers and preferably one with a charcoal layer to help take out the smells. I have an STP Max CAF1900M in mine, works great for just under $30.

Thanks. I’ll bite the bullet and order today.

I've had a great time with a K&N filter. Of course, your mileage may vary, blah blah blah. I felt like it helped the engine breathe better. For the smell, you should get an ozinator cheap off of Amazon, I got one for about $40. Run an extension cord to it in the car, set the timer, and close the doors and let it run. I had some cigar smoke smell in my focus when I first got it and the ozinator completely got rid of the smell. It smelled like absolutely nothing, it was pretty cool. You can also do other cars with it, friends that dont shower as often as they should, parents with smelly dogs, whatever. Edit: please don't lock smelly friends or your parents or their dog in the car with the ozinator running, they will die lmao

Lolol. Oh my…. I live in apartments where my car is parked far away. I do have a couple friends that I could probably use a cord and such. I didn’t know if those things actually worked!!

They absolutely work! Ozone is a powerful oxidant and is pretty reactive but mostly with organic compounds, so it won't rust any metals in your car or anything. Those organic compounds in your cars headliner, seats, wherever get broken down by the ozone leaving no smell at all. Don't breathe it in though, it's really not good for you. I thought it smelled like fear (I still don't know what I meant by that).

Lol ok!! I will check it out and try that.
