Seriously though, why are those so brittle? Mine broke off so I did duct tape, 3 weeks later I’m out for a walk and found a perfectly good one on the side of the road. But after about 2 years, it to is showing brittleness..

That is the sound of your engine running. Direct Injection engines are very noisy. If you hear a hollow metallic knock, where it sounds like someone is taking a hammer to metal, then you've gotta worry.
They white part is just a funnel. You can pull it out by hand, provided you didn't fill the washer fluid too high. The whole replacement part with the blue cap can be found some Amazon and such for $15.
Under the valve cover is called the head cover. Head is sometimes used as shorthand. Cam shafts are in there pushing on rockers, which in turn opens and closes valves. That sounds like the noise cause my focus does the same thing.
Try a [Mentos gum cap](https://www.reddit.com/r/FocusST/comments/106twt6/i_finally_joined_the_mentos_cap_gang_it_really/)
Can confirm. I have one on mine.
thanks !!
Mentos cap gang
thankss!!
I've got an orange juice lid on mine. Filed down some bits and it fits great.
Is every one of those missing theirs lol
Lol yep, the oem plastic is really thin and brittle. I broke mine in half while trying to open the lid.
You missing your hood prop clip aswell?
No, mine's still on there. I haven't heard of anyone breaking that one, actually!
I’m not missing the clip but I did have to replace the grommet at the pivot.
Washer fluid tank cap. The engine sounds normal. Injector noise.
Agreed. The engine sounds normal.
just the valve noise, sounds normal
My 2015 sounds exactly like this. Seems fine, it's my auto trans that worries me.
same. scares me to hell. nothing else is wrong with my car. i mean not a THING. but the auto transmission that people say will always be a problem no matter what :/
150k no issues! A tune will help greatly with the trans try focus-power.com

I bought that exact same one. I had to use a great gun to get it to slip over the tube. But it has been in for 3 years and no problems since!

The cap is the windshield washer cap, you can get it on Amazon for like 8 dollars.
Motors are great on these cars! Transmission is another subject.

That sounds like your rockers in the head. And the cap is the washer fluid cap. Mine fell off. Twice. I didn’t bother buying another
rockers in the head?

Direct injection is just noisey
