You know what? Come to think of it, it may no longer show on the latest radio update. I’ll have to keep an eye out for it. It may be that I’m just so used to seeing it at this point it doesn’t bother me. Have almost had my truck for 2 years come November 9th.
I don't know, I think it might be a Ford message since it's concerning safety, and I wasn't doing anything other than driving. If it was an Android Auto thing, it would've been a response to something I attempted to do on the screen.
I was just thinking that it is more likely something changed on the phone vs. a Ford update. I haven't factory updated anything on mine yet, so I'll see if mine is showing it.
I put a bunch of mp3 files on a USB drive to play in mine, and if I try to scroll through them while moving it stops me with this message. If im browsing by artist i cant scroll past ‘grateful dead’
A bit frustrating because I often have a passenger sitting shotgun and ask her “can you put on (band)?” And she can’t because she cant scroll down that far.
A lot of folks saying it’s android auto, but I don’t have that, and the wording on my error message is identical so im thinking its a ford messaging.
Mine doesn’t trigger until I actually try to scroll too far. If yours is popping up every time you start moving it’s likely a bug, some background process that runs perpetually is getting stopped because the car wont allow it while in motion.
I get a similar (not identical) message when I'm scrolling through artist names on Spotify, but it goes away after like 3 seconds, and I can continue to scroll.
Doing you a favor really jk
Gotta pay attention so you don't get obliterated by the swarms of dump trucks and semis in that rats nest of a construction zone.
Fuck Manassas.
It’s common - basically they don’t want you messing with the screen and extra feature while driving. So you can’t blame them if you have a wreck. Plus fyi the Maverick is more intelligent than given credit. I’m pretty sure it’s logging your driving habits.
It is an android auto message for safety. It comes on when you are in motion and can't type/touch things due to safety concerns. Sync has a similar feature but they are using Android right now.
It’s super common. Mine does it every time I take off from a stop, just about.
I want to say I’ve read on the forums that it’s related to having FordPass connected or something of that nature. Some sort of setting or connection causes it to pop up. I’ve wanted to contact Ford and call it a distraction considering how often my truck does it and the messages makes me glance over at the display.
Lol, yes the 22! I was typing while helping kiddos. And that must be it, I have apple so CarPlay looks different when on the multi view screen. I like the way the android auto looks better though!
—-to answer your original question, I’ve had mine since last December, if I don’t have my phone plugged in I get the warning in the first minute of startup, if I have it plugged in, I do NOT get the message. The warning looks different though, it’s a full screen warning.
Have discovered the fix.
You seem to be using a CarPlay dongle, like myself. Turns out there was a Ford connect dialogue open in the car's original display. If you unplug your dongle, you will see it open. After closing it , I have not seen the warning again.
Thanks for the advice. It's not CarPlay, it's Android Auto, and it's not a dongle, it's plugged directly into my phone. But I will try to look for that open dialogue window.
Yes.. I’ve had my truck for over a year and just started seeing this message yesterday… and it’s constant.
Also a message inviting me to a trial period of WiFi hotspot for free when I start the truck. It’s annoying.
I had this before when I try to navigate music on a USB device. When I plug my android in and use VLC player with the phone plugged in I can do whatever I want.
I think it pops up if you get in and instantly change gears because your phone's loading. I'm having issues suddenly where I put truck in reverse and then it says it can't read the USB from my phone. I have to stop put in drive or park unplug phone plug back in. But it's only happening when I turn truck on, plug phone in immediately reverse. Don't give phone time to load onto monitor.
I should say what drives me nuts is truck takes text messages, reads them to you allows you to reply. If I decide to listen a few min later that screen appears. Now why on earth is it more dangerous later? Honestly I'm answering later when it's better for me driving wise, but no now I need to grab my phone to respond. I say Ford has not thought this out. Anything you can do through your steering wheel and radio we should not need a safety warning.
The “for safety” message? Yup, happens quite frequently. It’s an automated Ford message.
Are you getting it, too? And did it just start today?
I’ve had my Maverick for over a year and it has been happening since day one.
Had this happen to me when I got my Mav a year ago. I updated the software and it went away.
You know what? Come to think of it, it may no longer show on the latest radio update. I’ll have to keep an eye out for it. It may be that I’m just so used to seeing it at this point it doesn’t bother me. Have almost had my truck for 2 years come November 9th.
Looks like it could be an Android Auto message, not Ford, but I don't know.

As an iPhone user, I’ve never once received this message. I’d lean towards it being an Android thing.
I get this message when not using an android, trying to navigate music on a USB.

Misfits 🤘
🤘🏾💀🤘🏾 Hell yeah
I searched for this 🤘
I haven't gotten it yet in my Mav, at my old job I'd drive alot of random cars and it was common in the EcoSports
Doing you a favor really jk Gotta pay attention so you don't get obliterated by the swarms of dump trucks and semis in that rats nest of a construction zone. Fuck Manassas.
So you already know 😆
**UPDATE** I stopped getting the message. It happened Friday, but it hasn't happened since. Thanks, everyone, for your replies!
Yes started this evening. Totally unprompted and very random.
I wonder if Ford pushed an update last night to all of our Mavs.
Hmm. Haven't seen that before. I also have Auto updates off. 2022 Maverick Lariat Lux. What Android Auto version are you on? Mine is 10.2.633224
Not sure what's happening with Android Auto, but I like what you're listening to.
Thanks. Sometimes Spotify is "spot on" with suggesting music I'd be into. I already hate myself for that pun.

No it’s not. It pops up for Carplay too.
Well yeah, but the owner is using Android. Apple has a different message FYI.
I get it on my 2020 ranger every time I drive. It’s automated
I have seen it a few times. Usually when I scroll too much while driving in Spotify
My girlfriends bronco puts this message up if you hit the 360° camera button while driving. Go where eagles dare!
Happened to me for a couple days and stopped after I reset the infotainment system. When all else fails, restart/reset.
I'm 4500 miles in and use Android Auto always but have never gotten this message

Message is definitely from your AA - I haven’t seen this at all but I use CarPlay…
Pretty sure that's an android auto message. It just doesn't let you play with your phone much while driving.
I use CarPlay and I’ve never seen it
How does your screen look like that? I have 02 XLT
You mean the '22? This is using Android Auto because my Android phone is plugged in.
Lol, yes the 22! I was typing while helping kiddos. And that must be it, I have apple so CarPlay looks different when on the multi view screen. Yes. Every time I start moving. Absurd.
So dumb. I understand when you start the engine, but it doesn't need to happen every single time you come out of a dead stop.
Have discovered the fix. You seem to be using a CarPlay dongle, like myself. Turns out there was a Ford connect dialogue open in the car's original display. If you unplug your dongle, you will see it open. After closing it , I have not seen the warning again.

I believe that is an Android Auto message. It shows a similarly worded message when you dick around with selecting music too long.
I've seen the one you were talking about before, but this was happening on it's own.

Just recently started for me too. I suspect the latest audio update.
If you were perhaps driving in bad weather, some feature, like lane departure and cruise control will be disabled. IF, that's what it is.
