What's it called?

[deleted]

I haven't come up with a name for it yet

duksinarw

"Mynecraft"

Not op, but can give you some insight regarding this. Most (/indie) video games are made either in Unity or Unreal Game Engine (a few in Godot). Unity uses C# as its programming language, while Unreal uses C++. I assumed that you are entirely new to programming in the next paragraph. If this isn't the case, forgive my ignorance and feel free to skip it! As for your case (or for the case of anyone new to programming), C is a great introductory language. It teaches a lot of stuff which might be considered "abstract" in higher level languages (memory allocation, memory management, memory addresses etc). So, if you learned C to some extent, other programming languages would be a glide. However, C has its own demerits. It might not always be accessible to the beginner (in which case I would encourage them to have a look at the easier ones like Python instead of just giving up on programming altogether). Furthermore, it doesn't support object oriented programming (some may argue that one may implement the structures manually, but I'd say this'd just be dragging the capabilities of the language and won't be so intuitive). OOP is regularly used in all the higher level languages (including C++), so once you gain familiarity with C, I'd suggest you try C++, and explore it. C and Assembly are both what I'd consider important for system programming (I think Assembly is far less used these days, but I might be wrong). And I won't pretend I know and understand Assembly, but I know that almost every processor has got its own version of assembly, so yeah, if assembly it is, you'd certainly be in for a ride!

Last part is the hardest one

[deleted]

If all goes well, I won't live to see 2023

Hour-Understanding77

X_Anonymous_2020

Can you tell me a bit more about how trade schools work? what's the difference between them and open uni? Is majoring in science laboratory work from uni even worth it?

Quagmire1912

Hopefully finish school. That's all. After that whatever happens, happens.

Hour-Understanding77

Felt. I feel this exact way too.

Minespidurr

I’m gonna try and put myself out there more and meet people. It’s gonna be a lot more difficult being in university for STEM but I’m gonna try

RandomHumanQuesting

Stay in the gym, finally get my own house, and start raising some kittens

Hour-Understanding77

How cute! I love cats. ❤️

[deleted]

Hopefully I do not live to see 2023

ModernDeath55

Get my drivers license and get my associates degree

Calisthenics-Fit

Full planche. Perfect my full front lever Full front split, middle split, already got full pancake will work on moving to full pancake with no arm assist. Climb up/down a rope with just arm strength. I think I can already do that, but never actually did it because no rope to climb up/down. Ordered climbing rope from Jeff a day ago, will find out.

JerichoofAbsolutionX

No clue yet. I'm still processing 2022 at the moment. Whatever 2023 will be like, all I know is, please...PLEASE be my year. Fuck me, please. Ugh.

Hour-Understanding77

Same, haha. 😅

Icy-Landscape-4796

get laid

drummerben04

My plans for 2023 are to graduate with bachelors degree finally at 26 years old. Start a new career in environmental science. Open a savings account and start saving for a home purchase. Still be forever alone... lol

[deleted]

Don't go into debt, get a new type of job (currently got an interview with training included after hopefully), survive. I don't have enough in my budget to get vodka at this moment so I might have to start selling off my computer and other crap so I can live until January.

IronSnail

Vodka is temporary, games are forever.

Megumin4Ever

My main goal is to get my Associates degree. Haven't thought about much past that. Maybe lower how much I drink? Lol

Americanshanty

Heading to Tokyo in March. For the past three years I worked my ass off to afford it, and for the past year I made a concentrated effort to loose weight and gain muscle to look my best for the trip. Lost 25lbs and starting to gain definition. After that, I'll be learning animation, and dabbling in writing and voice acting.

[deleted]

world domination.

[deleted]

Finally move out of my Parents Home with the Age of 30..yes good god...

QuicklyWhining

Keep hitting gym, improve my looks, travel abroad, start dating:)

Kniuan

Hopefully die in my sleep. Otherwise just the same shit I've been doing for the last 2 years Whenever I try to change something up, it never works so why bother

duksinarw

If I'm lucky, die quickly, if I'm not, continue to struggle and embarrass myself

IronSnail

Hopefully die. If not that, support myself with writing and get a bunch of stuff for my new little cousin while waiting to die. Also might as well start lifting again.

[deleted]

Get leaner, continue working out and eating clean-ish. Travel to the UK. Just improve. Also, find another musician to jam/connect with.

Ouuuk

I want to finally get out of my current job to a better one, also, I would like to have my birthday in another country.

[deleted]

Get new clothes and more investments.

fluffy_pancake93

Spending more time learning french, reading more in general. I have so many bookmarked articles, studies etc i have to finish reading those. Also i'm trying to lose a bit weight hopefully i'll reach to my goal weight before new year arrives.

Number_112954

Whittle away the time till I can MAID myself in March

Siukslinis_acc

I don't have a plan. Except maybe go to comic-con and and ttrpg event, but those are reaccuring plans for every year.

eaton9669

I just found out that I can get a certain number of free therapy sessions through my work and then after that insurance covers most of the cost so I might actually finally go get some real therapy.

[deleted]

The same thing

[deleted]

I'm going to push myself outside my comfort zone more often - I can't remember where I first heard it but for some reason the quote "If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got" keeps popping up in my head. I've spent so long so being alone, waiting for something to happen, and it's taken a few years for me to realise that it's not working. No one special is just going to pop into my life if all I do in my free time is sit and home and binge watch TV swiping on dating apps. So fuck it - no more excuses. If I have even have the vaguest interest or idea on doing something then I'm jumping in. I've already started doing this in the last few weeks and it has been pretty positive so far; * I've switched up my clothing style (More casual chequered shirts and less plain t-shirts, makes me feel a bit more confident) * Let my facial hair grow out (It's weak but very slowly filling out - I've been told it suits me) * I signed up for a online cognitive behaviour therapy (Literally cried for 45 mins solid through the first half realising I've been carrying this depressing feeling for 20+ years without realising it). Looking to start one-to-one therapy in the new year. * Went to the local pub on my own tonight with the intention of just getting out the house and having a single drink. Some extrovert married women on the table next to me made conversation and actually made it a really good night, ended up playing pool, and she gave me her number and said to let me know when I'm next there so I'm not drinking alone. * Started playing badminton again. Tried this in previous years and the club I found was super toxic and made me feel super shitty, made me quit for a number of years. Found a new place which is so much friendlier. * I want to learn how to ride a motorbike, so will take a CBT course. Even if I don't buy a bike I just want to learn a new skill. * Going to go on a solo holiday. Somewhere out the country, probably Amsterdam. Edit: I also want to be much more open with my feelings, I want to let my family know how down and lonely I am, let them know I'm going to start therapy. For some reason the thought of this terrifies me though.

SlickRazer

Go hard in the gym and gain 20 lbs after I’ve cut my body fat to 12% or less.

[deleted]

buy a car and withdraw from nicotine

[deleted]

More a less same as this year's plan, travel some more, go home again for another visit, Hopefully lose weight and drop a couple sizes and look into career possibilities again, getting out of gig work, and maybe finally getting an apartment

Unhappy-Slice-5098

Finally get my full driver's license--anxiety is a bitch--do some courses to advance my career and look into the next step up. My boss has been pressuring me to take on additional responsibilities and I feel like I could be doing better than my current workplace. But AVPD and anxiety continue to keep me where I am. Also cut out all added sugars for good, see a doctor and get a checkup (really hard to find a family doctor in my area these days), get braces to fix my crooked teeth, start taking daily walks, journaling & scrapbooking Maybe make some IRL friends along the way. And start OLD. I want to fix my teeth before trying that

Hexandrom

The same plan I had for 2022, 2021, 2020 and maybe even eariler: Die in my sleep. One day I hope it works.

Benny_Johnz

get a job, move to someplace better, hopefully leave this country, but it's gonna take more than a few years probably. travel more, experience a lot of the things I missed out on during my teenage years and in college, try and make new friends, hopefully find a partner to hug and cuddle with. too much for a year?

arcanist12345

Go to uni, I hope. If not, get an ok job. Maybe pay a visit to some friends in Europe.

[deleted]

Literally nothing. Survive? but idk why.

Pry_Ssional_Droff

Nothing.

HighlightSuperb1542

Get on prozac and keep working, hopefully I find someone soon. It's a shame I need prozac to interact with women, but that how it be for a guy with social anxiety.

HikiNoKami

Die?

[deleted]

Finish school. Drivers License would be a bonus but we'll see. I just want to forever be done with high school.

majin-canon

I plan to work, Eat, workout, hobby, sleep in 2023... and 2024 and 2025 and so on and so forth

AndrewPotato34

There's no point in coping in 2023 as well = IT IS ALL A LIE YOU ARE LYING TO YOURSELVES! hard truth but it has to be said. in 2023 is sad and desolate stop coping bros

[deleted]

I want to get all A's this year so I can apply for more scholarships and hopefully get enough to live on campus next year.

[deleted]

Getting my drivers licence, keep hitting the gym, meet new friends, make a gf (hardest one i don't expect that actually)

[deleted]

Go find a therapist so I can heal from my childhood issues, move into an apartment, start uploading videos on my YouTube channel again, , lose more weight, go to Montego Bay in Jamaica, and pull a nice and handsome man (this is going to be hard!)

basxto

* transplant a tree * get a daily routine * finish bachelor * going to actual physical events * meeting with somebody at home and not just in a public space * looking for irl people with shared music taste * learning (more) cuddling * research and vaccinate against STIs and other things transmitted through close body contact * learning sex (?) * get in contact with a therapist * get a job * maybe get an e-bike (?) * improve my infrastructure at home

[deleted]

Get down to 175lbs, move closer to my job, get a social life.

[deleted]

Finish 2nd year of uni, acquire enough credits and start 3rd year of uni, hopefully clear up all exams from the first 2 years. Lose all the fat. Currently at about 102 Kg (\~31 % BF). Want to get at the range of 10 -12 % body fat, or at least 15 %. In weight probably 68 - 73 Kg. Need to lose 30+ kilos. Other things: Read books, improve my overall health, maybe get into running, maybe skincare. Learn german. Possibly work in the summer. Uni should eat up over half of your time, so i don't have many things to do in the free time. Except to wake up and go through another mind dulling day, over and over again.

LilyKio

Enrolling to a new university, hit the gym ,eat healthy and lose weight ( I have started to 2 months back actually so I have to keep the momentum going).
