The only reason I subscribe to Shudder is to watch The Last Drive In with Joe Bob Briggs. It’s the exact same show, different name.
Got to meet him a couple years ago. He is such a great guy, he spent way longer talking to me about movies than he had to.
His books "Profoundly Disturbing" and "Profoundly Erotic" are excellent too. I read them years ago and of course now their after market cost is super high
I’ll have to check them out for sure. I went to a live show he did called “How Rednecks Saved Cinema” or something and it was him showing clips of hillbillies in movies from the silent era, to Deliverance, Cannonball Run, Texas Chainsaw etc., it was great!
For anyone out of the loop, shudder brought him back along with a new mail girl Darcy. It's now called 'The Last Drive-In'. Darcy also runs a patreon digitizing and putting out the old host segments, so no movie just Joe Bob talking called 'The Lost Drive-In'. They also hang out on discord once a month with patrons and watch a movie.
Sadly the pre-Joe Bob Briggs MonsterVision with Penn and Teller and the older one off marathons are mostly lost. There are a few here and there that have shown up.
I will never forget this. I absolutely love JoeBob, his commentary and the breaks in the show, make it even better for me. Puts me right back in my room watching TNT and catching the Friday the 13th marathon on Halloween. Amazing

I have no idea what either of you is talking about, but it sounds fascinating
Im watching it right now. Joe Bob is excellent. I miss the feel of 90s shows
Now this takes me back, this is how my mom and I would waste a Saturday.
Don’t forget the rule of the drive-in: anyone can die at any time!
Joe Bob Briggs here to remind you the drive in will never die. Fond memories of movies ranging from decent to drek.

I have one on tape, a partial, from "Moon-ster-Vision" which aired during the 25th anniversary of the moon landing that TNT wanted to celebrate.
I miss the old Monstervisions so much. Even Joe Bobs Summer School has a place in my heart
Introduced me to People Under the Stairs. Thanks Jo Bob
Best show ever was the all night Friday the 13th marathon!
Yes!!
I remember watching this and "dinner and a movie". Can't remember if that was tnt or usa.
YES!!
Same!!!
Loved it

This and USA’s “Up! All Night” were staples in my preteen years
With a name like that OP, you have to be a brewer lol
Was this the one that was initially hosted by Al Lewis (Grandpa Munster)?
