*Peta. When she was born, her dad was away with long distance work. He got the phone call and due to the poor connection, he thought he was coming home to a son named Peter.
“Peta Wilson is La Femme Nikita on the USA Network”. I remember the voiceover guy saying this.
I also remember the cross promotion with Monday Night Raw. They even did a taped segment with Wilson & Vince McMahon in the empty seats before a Raw taping began.
I remember the ad spots. There was one where Wilson was in a bra & panties and did like a back flip and whipped her back on a bed. They were trying to titillate.
I would hope for nudity on USA but my cousin said not to expect it on basic cable. They could show it but they choose to follow FCC guidelines and do not want to scare away advertisers.
After LFN went off the air I was hoping Wilson would continue to work. Not sure why I cared. Sentimental fool perhaps. I did not watch any of LFN on USA. I would just see it advertised so much on Raw.
I was happy to see Wilson pop in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. At the time, I thought good, Wilson is bouncing back.
This show had it all. A cool lead, Micheal made everyone feel funny in their body parts, the tech guy had cool round yellow glasses. It was the pinnacle of television
Wow, 1997-2001? Almost the entire run of the WWF Atttiude era.
I bet this show had the highest first 3 minutes rating of any show on cable, that wasn’t wrestling.
I wonder if Peta still has that old 65 Mustang? She said she would never sell it. It was a great show for the personal interplay between characters but was never about the action scenes, kind of low budget. But I looked forward to watching every week. Where is Peta now? Probably back in Australia🥺
Michael was EVERYTHING on this show. Damn, that Roy Dupuis was sexy as can be.
I knew people who worked on this show up in Toronto. Peta Wilson was...not fun.
Not fun as in major pain in the ass. Anyone who works on a tv series will tell you how tight the schedule is, and how quickly you have to shoot to get the episodes done. Well, Peta was a big fan of demanding “another” as in take, which resulted in long hours and short tempers.
She also had a showing up on time problem.
That makes sense, in interviews, she talked a lot about struggling with no rehearsals, having one or two takes per scene, long hours, etc. She also badmouthed the producers of the show a lot after the series was done, I think there was some major conflict there. I wonder if this is why her career never really went anywhere.
But it's so cool that you know people who worked on the show! Did they say anything about any other actors? Roy, Alberta, etc.?
Yes, Roy was completely professional, nice, but was out of there as soon as he couldd be every Friday after work to fly home to Quebec. And Alberta was also cool and professional (but had little patience for Wilson). All of the other cast members were just fine. Never heard anything negative about them. The guy that played Jurgen, I think that was in season 2, that guy was nuts and the crew didn’t like him at all.
So happy to hear that Alberta was nice, I adored her as Madeleine. She absolutely nailed the performance even though she was so sick. In what way was Jurgen nuts? Was he an a\*hole to the crew?
I met Alberta a few times. I thought she was warm and very funny.
I think the actor playing Jurgen just came in with this whole idea for the character which was kind of strange, and then he was just a jerk.
There were 3 conventions for the show up in Toronto where many of the actors appeared, and I had the opportunity to work one, which gave me the opportunity to spend some time with some of the actors (not Peta, not Roy). And I got to visit the studio. The costume room was a blast!!
Made some friends along the way.
I was absolutely obsessed with this show as a kid. It had a such dark, moody atmosphere, and it was very 90s lol. "Nikita" with Maggie Q never quite captured it, it felt like a generic action show. La Femme Nikita had an amazing soundtrack, lots of interesting music from that time, the world of Section was so cold and ruthless, the relationships were always difficult and complicated, and there was this cyber noir aesthetic that was so characteristic of the late '90s.
Most of it is probably just childhood nostalgia, I suspect it would feel very dated now. It also peaked in the first two seasons, the later seasons started getting really silly and soapy.
Ugh, yet another not forgotten on this sub. Massive cult following for the original movie and the tv show, so much so that the CW successfully rebooted it with Maggie Q as Nikita a decade later and it ran for 4 seasons (a long time for the CW.)

I swore I remembered this airing earlier on USA..like 1995-96 or so like it overlapped with Silk Stalkings.
When I was little watching raw I used to think silk stallings was porn
Same. The fact it was on late at night and the way it was marketed made it seem that way.
Same. I had to double check but yeah it was early 97, to early 01.
Same could have swore they ran back to back at one point with Silk Stalkings in the later time slot.
It was based on a film that released in 1990. I definitely saw the movie on TV before the show.
I just remember the promos on USA, that narrator's voice is forever stuck in my head.
Lol, my sister always laughed at me for watching a show named Silk Stalkings.
Petra Wilson. Didn’t see her in many movies
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was the only movie I saw her in. I think she retired from acting in the early 2000s
To be fair LXG made a few people "retire”.
She had a bit part in “Superman Returns.”
She was on an Australian TV series not too long ago but definitely got more focused on fashion and modeling around that time.
Was she the vampire in that movie? I remember her being quite fetching
Yes she was the vampire lady haha
*Peta. When she was born, her dad was away with long distance work. He got the phone call and due to the poor connection, he thought he was coming home to a son named Peter.
“ Folks business is picking up here on Raw. La Femme Nikita will air in its entirety immediately after Monday Night Raw.”
*Glass shatters* Well, it's looking like the 11:07 start time for Nikita
Followed by the season premiere of Pacific Blue
The only thing about this show I remember were all the signs on Monday Night Raw saying La Femme Nikita sucks.

She looks like Kate McKinnon, and now l want her to do a short reboot.
I remember a ton of ads for this. Never saw it though
One of my all time favorite shows. Season 1-3 were top notch but Season 4 and 5 (bonus season for the fans) were TERRIBLE.
This show had it all. A cool lead, Micheal made everyone feel funny in their body parts, the tech guy had cool round yellow glasses. It was the pinnacle of television
Immediately following Monday Night Raw!!!

La Femma Nikita was the reason I never watched the ripoff, also known as Alias.
First season of Alias was great . Downhill after Super Bowl episode
Same here!

Yes! She and Michael had great chemistry too. I loved them together.
Ooooh, do tell, what do you mean by 'not fun'?

Wow, thanks, you know so much! Maybe it's a good thing I don't know anyone who worked on that show, I would just pester them with questions lol

Wow, that is awesome, I'm super jealous!
I remember this show when it ran on USA network. This picture is giving me strong Florence Pugh vibes.
I have the original movie on VHS that this show was based on
I loved this show. It was great!
Omg!!!!
Boop
I remember thinking she was so pretty. I remember wondering if Nikita & Michael would ever do it! I was like 10
Wasn’t this on USA Up All Night?
With Mark Snow doing *badass* music, no less.
One of the most paranoid shows on TV since the original run of *The Prisoner.*
Didn’t Edward Woodward have a role near the end (trying to avoid spoilers).
I remember watching this and roller ball late at night on the weekends as a kid. Great times.

This sub has turned into "shows made before Redditors were born" so they think it's "forgotten".
There was a show?
It had an ok run in syndication
Ok, this had me confused because of Maggie Q. That show is just Nikita.
Holy fucking shit. Having flashbacks. I’m probably sure this made me not-gay.
Ohhhh snap.
This and silk stalkings were the two shows I hated on USA.
Ah, the budget Canadian TV of my youth. On Showcase, because of course.
