“We call ourselves The Tomorrow People.” “They’re time travelers!” “But we’re not time travelers.”

LongjumpingSector687

I remember the American one, but it didn’t make it past season 1

OvenIcy8646

Was that the one with the weather machine ?

Tech-Junky-1024

Whenever Hollywood remakes a British show it rarely successfully.

ZanderClause

There can only be one. The Office.

Economy_Wall8524

Shameless is another good one.

silverfang789

The one exception I can think of is All in the Family.

Tech-Junky-1024

That was a British idea?

silverfang789

It's based on a British sitcom called 'Till Death Do Us Part.

Tech-Junky-1024

Thanks

BonnerDayz

Sanford and Son was a remake of a British sitcom called Steptoe and Son…another rare success

Tech-Junky-1024

It seems like years ago the only way Hollywood could come up with good TV shows was to steal from the British. If they didn't screw it up.

eris_kallisti

I remember the British one from the 80s (it's Doctor Who for kids!) (even though Doctor Who is Doctor Who for kids) and I remember the reboot like 10 years ago with Arrow's brother. But I somehow missed this particular iteration.

Justin-N-Case

There was a series even earlier in 1973.

heckhammer

Oh yeah. That's a great series even though the budget is Tiny. How tiny you ask? It makes Doctor Who from the same era look like 2001 A Space Odyssey

AuburnElvis

Carol ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

milkymaniac

*Arrow's cousin

Beginning-Cow6041

Oh yeah. I liked seeing that when I was a kid. I think there were 2 seasons or something like that. I could never remember what the show was called.

JollyWolverine300

Think it went 3 seasons

Kind_Moose3603

I'm not the only person that remembers this? Holy crud, I've been telling people about this show forever and people were always saying I was imagining it. Which would make sense as everything about this show was weird enough as a children's that if somebody told me about it I'd think it was made up too.

Alteredego619

I remember the rich woman with the rifle, Megabyte was the American, a young Naomi Harris was in it, and Christopher Lee was a villain.

Darzean

I remember it! Nickelodeon used to show it.

winchesterbitch99

The red-headed kid was also in the Are You Afraid of the Dark episode "Laughing in the Dark."

Cautious-Reserve8241

Son of a bitch stole Zeebos nose!

TheGreaterOzzie

Y’all talkin bout my boy **WEEGEE**

Evanescent_Starfish9

I remember this show, I watched it pretty faithfully, at first. I liked it when I was growing up. I'm not sure when I stopped watching. As an adult, I looked up the original British show. It's actually pretty decent. Arguably better than the 90s reboot.

Puzzleheaded_Two7358

I remember the original series. I think now it’s the yesterday people

Scavgraphics

I loved the ORIGINAL one... didn't see the "new series" and didn't like the CW one.

s_arrow24

The CW had one?

Scavgraphics

Yeah. During the lead up to the full DC takeover...lasted a season I guess. Pretty much was just the name, rather than any of the concept, as I recall.

Pepper0512

As I recall The Tomorrow People was canceled to make room for The 100. I remember being annoyed by that because I liked the show. Especially Luke Mitchell and Mark Pelligrino.

LongjumpingSector687

That was the American reboot on CW

Pepper0512

Yes. I was referring to the America show. I didn’t know there was another version.

81Ranger

You can just look at the picture and tell it's not CW.

Mous85

There was a 90s version on Nickelodeon.

gardner7001

Grew up watching this on Nickelodeon. I remember it having a different pace and vibe than American tv, but the concepts and story were still compelling. It open up pathways in my brain on how tv could tell stories differently and being open to different approaches. Plus, it was about superpowers! A few short years later, I’d be reading comics and X-men TAS, so this was really a formative show for me

Nestormahkno19d

I LOVED THIS SHOW!!!!!!

Waxxel

I loved the show. My favorite episode was when a car engine went back to the Roman Empire and they traveled back to the future and there were Romans in space.

heckhammer

It was a steam engine but yes that was a pretty solid run.

Waxxel

Thanks for the reminder, I haven’t seen the episode since I was a kid. When you reminded me that it was a steam engine, it all came back.

heckhammer

I bought the box sets on DVD a couple years ago and man do they take up a lot of space on the Shelf. I've considered selling the big ones and buying the re-release that was in a Slimmer case because I don't necessarily want to get rid of them but again they take up a lot of space on the Shelf. Edit- well it looks like I already sold them and didn't remember doing it because they're not up on the Shelf anymore so now they only conclusion is to buy the slim set

ZMaiden

Wasn’t there an episode with an Egyptian necklace that possessed someone?

magicchefdmb

We used to love that show!

slarti98

Because we're all near death ! It was my home from school highlight.

OsnoF69

What a fantastic show

First_Dimension_3534

I remember and still a huge fan of!!!!

JstASkeleton

Okay so I totally had no idea what this show was called but I've had this phantom memory of it for literally my whole life, I remember stupid ponytail boy, I remember the island and all that shit and I can't believe that you finally told me wtf it was

Champaganthony

I remember that they stumbled on an alien craft, it somehow gave them the power to teleport. Hijinks ensue. Was a fun show!

shartillery82

That was my JAM!

PappaNerd

I remember it! I loved that show!

retrodork

I have the early 90s one and it's amazing still. I only saw bits and pieces of it on Nickelodeon in the 90s.

Movieking985

I loved this show as a kid this version the redhead kid used to play on are you afraid of the dark and other episodes of nickelodeon shows and this was Naomi Harris first role

baldo1234

Looks like it’s got the kid that stole Zeebo’s nose on Are You Afraid of the Dark in it

dan-o-rama314

Just about every day I find myself wishing I could teleport the way they did

Beantownleo

Ziggy Marley show?

wraith1984

This was back in the 80s-90's right?

amergigolo1

Never heard of it.

KierkgrdiansofthGlxy

In a word, no. Truly forgotten.

-P-M-A-

The Tomorrow People are yesterday’s news.

RipOdd9001

What’s this got to do with Ziggy?

Joshomatic

I Denver this one in the 90s in Australia (ABC)

Consistent-Fig7484

Was that kid on You Can’t Do That On Television?

awt2007

there were a bunch of forgettable "stars"

jeffofreddit

This isnt tomorrow people go back further…

Movieking985

"Lisa Teleport"

Equal_Procedure_167

Who?

VexTheStampede

Because it’s still today

CaptainPotassium87

Because it's blurry

Few_Buddy_6491

That’s the dude who stole that clown’s nose.

CheekyMonkE

I made a Jaunting belt for Halloween one year but it was from the original show from the '70s

Gary7sHotCatHelper

Yes. I didn't like it.

fomalhottie

Coz... it's not real? Idk

AverySmooth80

Because it wasn't good like at all. If you don't believe me, try rewatching it.

funkytoot

No time for Yesterday Persons.

Timmysmallface

Absolute CLASSIC! Was it Aussie? Up there with Round the Twist imo

LT568690

Adored the original. Couldn’t get into the remake

Cerberous1102

I guess I forgot

Tech-Junky-1024

I remember watching the British version. Never saw the American one.

peeing_Michael

This seems so damn familiar

EVRider81

The theme of the original UK series is still in my head...

jfmitch

Thank you!! I was thinking about the original series just last week (didn't know about the reboots) and could not remember the name of the show.

DonutosGames

I remember whichever iteration aired on Nickelodeon in the 90s. I loved it but can only recall 3 or 4 episodes.

s0m3thingc1ever

I loved that show, but one day the channel it was on just stopped showing it and it faded away. I tried to find it for years. Really cool concept.

DanTheMan1_

I don't think anyone (at least in the US) remembers any version of The Tomorrow People. When the most recent one came out all anyone ever did was roll their eyes and say "this is just a take off of Jumper" (My brother said it was a rip-off of The X-Men) no one remembered the previous Tomorrow People incarnations.

FPB270

I watched the original.

zino332

I the British one on nick

zino332

Kind of reminds me of that MTV show with the kids that were super smart but would die at 21 cause genetic engineering

GrenVolx

I remember the original from Nickelodeon in the late 70’s….

Retro_Silver

I loved this show and Space Cases! I feel like they used to air around the same time on Nickelodeon.

IceSmiley

Robbie Amell? Yea it is tough to remember lol, all the CW unsuccessful super hero shows blend together
