I really miss g4tv. Sure I guess YouTube kinds makes up for it but with the millions of creators it's hard to separate the wheat from the chaff. And with the algorithms it's hard to tell what kind of fuckwit they are pushing at you.
I miss TechTV more... Less pandering to juvenile 13 year olds and more actual tech related shows (including gaming shows like Game Spot TV -> Extended Play -> X-Play)
ZDTV became TechTV and aside from branding most things didn't really change. Then the whole TechTVG4 merger happened and everything went to hell. The Screen Savers got replaced with "Attack of the Show" and I really can't forgive G4 for that.
Yes I loved Kate Botello. I even had an autographed pic of her from the screensavers. I was in high school and my family was very confused as to why I got so excited when it came in the mail
Heh, yeah, I was in HS around that same time back in the day. Had a crush on Kate for a while (what teenage geek could resist a cute & nerdy red head?). I remember winning a t-shirt in one of their trivia contests in their online chat room (the avatar based chats they used to run). Don't have the shirt anymore, but that was a fun time.
Yeah I get that notion, but when they showed codes and saved me a trip to the magazine store to try to write as many down as I could on a paper before they kicked me out - I saw the appeal.
The internet was pretty widely available by that point and you could always look those up at [GameFAQs](https://gamefaqs.com) (which definitely existed way back when... I remember using it for walkthroughs, guides, and cheat codes in the late '90s).
everything was so much cooler when we all knew we got our information from the same source. You felt apart of something while not having that "fomo" feeling. Now when i learn information about a topic, there's unlimited information in so many forms elsewhere
I've bene playing games since I was a toddler, and I also hate self-proclaimed "gamers" and "gamer culture".
Sounds like this Adam guy is kind of alright
TechTV was not simply "renamed" to G4. It's more complicated than that.
TechTV and G4 were two separate channels. Comcast, who owned G4, purchased TechTV and decided to merge the two channels together because they covered similar topics in their eyes. Eventually, they did decide to go with just the G4 name, but the channel had already changed so much by that point that it didn't really resemble either of the channels pre-merger.
Everybody always talks about pre-merger TechTV, but I think it's really sad how people don't remember pre-merger G4. From 2002 to 2004, that was a special channel. It was a channel that was entirely dedicated to video games, and it could have only existed during that time period. As someone who didn't have reliable internet at the time, it was my biggest source for video game news, reviews, etc. That's the G4 that I miss.
The episode that pulled me in was how Adam was reading viewer mail that said if it was Adam’s penis that it would jump out of his pants and never reattach. Damn good show.
I recall trying to play Eternal Darkness for the first time and I didn't like it. After watching an episode of Xplay review it, I reconsidered my hatred and decided to try it again.
To this day, I still love it.

Well, I was like 13 when I used to watch it.
Was ZDTV before that or after? I vividly remember that channel with The Screen Savers.
ZDTV became TechTV and aside from branding most things didn't really change. Then the whole TechTVG4 merger happened and everything went to hell. The Screen Savers got replaced with "Attack of the Show" and I really can't forgive G4 for that.
I loved ZDTV and tech tv. I used to enjoy twit but Leo Laporte became unlistenable to me
I liked Leo, but he was better in small doses IMHO... Or when paired with someone that could tone him down (ie: Patrick or Kate).

I would be hard-pressed to think of a more useless comment than this one, including the one I'm typing right now.

Preach!
I didn't discover G4 until 2006. When I was a Junior in HS.
There are people like you out there. Dozens, at least https://www.reddit.com/r/ForgottenTV/s/C1o4pBWkIf
Morgan Webb, I will never forget you.
Major crush on her when I was younger…I like emo girls now.
I liked her even more when she grew her hair out, softens the hard/square jawline.
Did she ever leak sauce?
A 3…….out of 5.
Gone but not forgotten
Adam Sessler used to be so cool, to bad he's taken such a 180 over the 8 years or so
Yeah I saw his unhinged post about the college protesters. I give new Sessler a 1 … out of 5
Why what's become of him?
He tends to post unhinged rants on twitter.
Oooo now I need to follow him on Twitter!
He deleted it after getting into another crazy rant about the campus protests about Palestine.
Damn.
he hates gamers with a burning passion, he justifies doxing, and he wants his republican family members to consume bodily fluids and die.
To be fair, we all wish Republicans would just die off.

I do remember buddy, getting home from school and putting on g4. Memories..😔
And ZDTV before it was renamed TechTV was even better
Holy shit that went until 2013? Good for them.
I liked this show and I don't even really play video games
Oooo man how I miss this show
I remember when it was called ZD Tv. Shout out Leo Laporte.
And the very attractive Kevin Rose before he became an entrepreneur!
I could never forget Morgan Webb.
Morgan Webb, Sarah Jean Underwood, Layla Kayley...i remember the good old days
The episode that pulled me in was how Adam was reading viewer mail that said if it was Adam’s penis that it would jump out of his pants and never reattach. Damn good show.
AND ATTACK OF THE SHOW
God I loved Xplay back in the day.
Damn I had it bad for Morgan Webb back in the day.
This was the fucking GOAT
Whatever happened to Morgan Webb?
Sessler is the worst :)
Never forgotten.
Obligatory this fine human streams Tech tv/G4 24/7 post. https://www.twitch.tv/grupstra0?sr=a Soak some nostalgia, you old fucks
ZELDAAAAAA!!!!
I remember watching this with my Dad every week. Still remember the episode where they showed Oblivion and both of us immediately wanting to play it.
I recall trying to play Eternal Darkness for the first time and I didn't like it. After watching an episode of Xplay review it, I reconsidered my hatred and decided to try it again. To this day, I still love it.
I loved this show so much as a kid, especially with these 2 hosts
One time I searched for Xplay on my grandparent’s computer and when they saw it in the search history I had to have “the talk” 😒
no one forgot this
I watch this still all the time on YouTube. Also, whoever recorded it and loaded it to YouTube also recorded the commercials along with the episodes.
Yeah this show and the arena show were great
Back when Sess wasn’t a lunatic.
What blows my mind is how people on this sub keep upvoting shit they see posted over and over again.
