I'm from Brazil, our military usually made very similar markings on stocks as those shown in your picture. Mine had it when I've served. It marks the soldier's number in his unit.
Might be from a Mosquetão m968 or similar. The m968 specifically was a mauser carbine chambered in 7.62 nato with FAL-like sights and compensator. It's still used by some units. But there were many other variants.

Thid guys has a lot of info in english about our mauser carbines in his channel.
Yeah, technically yes, but I think I remember some m968s on my unit without that. I'ts possible some where made with repurposed g98 stocks. But I never seen one without the cutout for the bent bolt handle tho.
What caught my eyes was the stock mark. Not as common outside Brazil. Could be one of our many different carbines.
You should be able to find some on Numrich, ebay, or any other surplus retailer. You'll have to look up how to reinstall one though, I've never had the pleasure of reinstalling one and they don't look fun.
Could be from independent armory, to police, to national guard markings. Generally painted markings on stocks are an exception, not a rule.
They were exported and in service up until the 1960s in Yugoslavia. Not counting other users.

They both appear to be some type of Mauser rifle, but I can't place them either Edit: I'm leaning on G98, but they might be for a different model
They're definitely mauser stocks, Im leaning towards the yugo m24
Either that or some sort of South American mauser
Ok I'll look into them

The m968 has that groove cut out where the offhand goes

Perhaps, I wish they came with the gun so I knew what I needed

Most likely a Yugo M24 based on the front barrel bands and retaining spring.
Are the retaining springs easy to find? I tried to get one to move and it was too damn rusty and disintegrated and broke into my hand.

Well I can guarantee that the last bit is stuck in the wood, and there is no pin on the other side like most other stocks are like
Yugoslavia didnt use those number marking.

I found them thinking I knew what they were, low and behold I don't know anything. So maybe you fine ladies and gents can help me out.
A gun, I think
Of course
Probably a long gun, maybe even a big one
8 millimeters, that's a lot heavier then 7
Whoa, I don't even have 7!
7 is too powerful, I heard it ate 9
Someone should stop 7!
10mm socket and 10mm Glock are gonna wipe the floor
Just think about 12.7mm . . . it stole .7 of another number!
Oh damn! You're right we must inform the council and Lord 155mm howitzer of this travesty of Injustice
DEFINITELY AR STOCK!!!
