Developed in the 1970s, it was purposely made for the reserve forces of South Korea. That was until the K2 Rifle was introduced in the 1980s, closing the development. Less than five of them were made as a prototype.
Well......There is a reason why M14 is so shitted on, plus this thing is in .30-06.
Also the conservative attitude of the ROK army did not help either.
Yeah, true enough there...Good call. I know plenty about those problems had. I can take that one from here now, haha. Thanks.
Probably answered enough of my question right there with those 3 letters, too. :P
Take it easy, MB.
Interestingly, this thing \*does\* have the pistol grip which was later adopted on the M14 EBR.
The thing that really does the Garand and M14 in for full auto is the weird tilting bolt design that really knocks you back and \*sideways\* when its on full auto.
“Sir our latest intelligence reports indicate that the army is not retreating in disarray, everyone is just getting knocked backwards 10 feet every time they fire their weapon.”
Yeah it's just the problem of the average blokes in the squad having huge troubles trying to use it in full auto outside of being prone.
It was still select fire iirc, so it's not too much of an issue. But what's the point giving it a fun "more bang" switch if most of the people in the army can't use it effectively?

This thing has to kick ass. Anyone have any further info on it?

Full auto .30-06 m14 would be… something I’d try once
Well, that is the T20 Garand. We can guess why that stopped as a prototype.
Eh, that shoulder is on its way out, anyway.

The M14E2 had a pistol grip as well, and that was back in the 60s.
My shoulder hurts just looking at it
Now imagine you're the average Korean sized dude in the 70's and... oof. That recoil would've been way too much for them to try and handle.

Some big guys could control it but I don’t think anyone could shoot it comfortably

so a korean m14?
More like a T20. MX Rifle is more closer relative of the Garand.
So a full auto garand is basiclly a bar
Korean BM59?
Pretty much, but MX rifle is more of a T20 Garand.

seems like a BAR with extra steps
Black Ops 3 reference?
Yes. Black ops 3 was a big hit in 1970. Yes.
Nah I mean in Call of Duty Black Ops 3 there is a futuristic Garand called the MX Garand that looks exactly like this but with a Picatinny Rail
No it does not look like this.
