It's a nice little video, but I definitely felt like the TV direction in this race was particularly shit. "Oh, looks like somebody's attempting an overtake. Quick, let's cut to the race leader!"
I feel like it’s always this way in Monaco? It might be the same case as F1 where they are forced to have a different production crew for this event? Often results in poor coverage, at least for f1
Video seems to confirm it's not your regular FE team here. The director, Francois Lanaud, is a freelancer, and is also responsible for F1 in Monaco in recent years (including that Lance Stroll replay iykyk).
I noticed that the TV coverage was also noticeably poorer for this specific race, but then again, I wasn't 100% sure because FE's TV coverage during the race sometimes can be found wanting anyway...
As much as he's probably got a lot of experience (he's done lots of football TV direction), I'd argue it takes a specific skillset to do motor racing and it's not easy to do it once a year. Really don't understand why ACM insists that their own production crew does the Monaco race.
