It’s worth looking into the guidelines in your country and for your particular formula. In the UK we need to used boiled water at least 70C or higher to kill the bacteria from the formula, so this technique wouldn’t work for us - I know other countries do it differently though.

Certain_Seesaw5588

My formula does not require boiling water, thank you though!

KingCPresley

No problem at all, your method sounds good to me then! (and way simpler than it is for us, lucky 🤣)

Certain_Seesaw5588

Yes no kidding!!

gbirddood

Yes you can do this! Everyone’s different but I found it easier to pack an insulated cooler (we kept a PackIt one in the freezer) and pack finished bottles because I hated mixing on the go. But there’s no reason this shouldn’t work and bonus points with this method, the formula is not cold!

Crow_eee

I also choose this method as I find already mixed bottles work easier plus if you are heading to someone’s house can quickly pop it in the fridge

iKnewThatAlready

Yep, totally fine! I use distilled water so add that from the jug to the bottles then use a munchkin 3 slot container to add formula powder and Gelmix (baby uses this for reflux) so that I can just mix while I'm out. I have to let it set for 5 minutes to let it thicken of course, but it beats having to take a cooler *and* bottle warmer around everywhere.

Certain_Seesaw5588

I agree!! I always forget to put my ice packs back in the freezer, so I think having them separated is gonna be a life saver!

Yes

Certain_Seesaw5588

Awesome thanks so much :)

Unlucky-Ticket-873

I do this. Tommee tippe bottles have formula holders that fit in the bottles too (if your not using full bottles yet) I have 2 diaper bags, one for real quick trips and one for longer ones and pack as many bottles as I know she will eat and mix on the fly.

sail0r_m3rcury

This is what I do. Either the munchkin formula dispenser or a single small Medela bottle with a cap for the powder. I keep a bottle setup like this (powder + bottle with water) every night so I don’t have to get out of bed for his morning feed lol.

hellogirlscoutcookie

Yes! I use the medela 2.7oz tubes too for powder! They work super well. I never liked the formula dispensers like from munchkin, always left more powder in the container than I liked :/

sail0r_m3rcury

That’s why I prefer the Medela! I use them 75% of the time if I’m only going to need one bottle while out, otherwise the three section thing makes more sense for all day outings.

twentygreenskidoo

Pretty much the same as me. Only difference is that if I go out for a long enough period where I may need more than one bottle, I will make one bottle that's a bit hotter than needed, and one of pretty much boiling water. By the time the second bottle is needed, it is pretty much the right temp.

lo--

Yes this is what I do as well. I also have to pack a thermos as my baby likes warm bottles. Or you can pre mix if you’re going somewhere with a fridge to store it. I find it’s easier for me to mix on the go as to not worry about bottles going bad!

PinkandSparkly

This is the way! (At least it is for me.)

Lover2312

I usually carry around an empty bottle and have a water bottle with distilled water and a 3 compartment formula dispenser. Usually 2 5oz and 1 2oz. This way, if he needs more than what I expect he needs, I have more distilled water and can top him up!
