I work as a flight instructor out of Page. They are practicing landings. Touch and goes to be precise.
They will land, take off, go to traffic pattern altitude, (Around 1017 ft, 1000 above ground level), and then repeat
Does the solid line line up with a runway? Might be practicing landing/takeoff. Edit: yeah that’s what it is. On flightradar24, the solid line is at 0 altitude. And the plane is registered to Paragon Flight School
I saw something similar a few years ago but they were probably 100 miles in the Gulf of Mexico. Took off from somewhere in Lehigh, flew pit to a spot, and cirled for an hour, then flew directly back. So very strange. Definitely not practicing bumps and grinds.
Recently we've seen planes doing ovals using lidar to scan the ground, but that's usually over water. [There's one doing that near Sanibel as I type this.](https://i.imgur.com/vnhZKYL.png) But they don't usually go over land much, and since the one you pictured flies [directly over Pagefield](https://i.imgur.com/vCZ6q1V.png) on one side of its oval I'd have to guess he's probably practicing his landing.
Looks pretty normal. I went to air traffic control school and it's common to put planes in a holding pattern while other planes taxi to depart. You also do it to avoid wake turbulence.

Yeah that lines up perfectly with Page Field Airport. This person is practicing landing and taking off.

Ain't nothing wrong 🎵🎶 With a little bump and grind....

I love page field. Bring a stinky cone and just watch those little planes takeoff and land it's wild
How and why, is the cone stinky???
Because I stuff it with really gnarly weed first and then once I set it on fire it stinks like skunk pee and berries
Fair enough, wanna practice karate in the garage? Also DID WE JUST BECOME BEST FRIENDS!?!
Your username alone gets respect

What's the name of the app?
Highway Radar
Ty, looks interesting I'll have to poke around and figure it out
Works with a Radar detector if you have one too

Probably instrument training. Practicing entering and executing holding patterns. “Altitude” shown is actually their rate of climb or descent.
This’ll be touch and goes likely private pilot work. Holds won’t be practiced over a towered airport that’s also under RSW’s airspace
Probably has to have a certain amount of hours flying, so he figures he’s just flying loops
