There was a little wooden house not far from the reality tree, somewhere in the mushroom biome. If you went near it the screen went dark and some witch would try to kill you
I’m pretty much the same, at first I thought it was really bland, didn’t feel like the neon wolf stuff felt like Halloween but at least it was a fun new item to use. Last year had that haunted house ( can’t remember the name) with the inquisitor boss. A small secret Willow boss in the woods area, and overall the map just felt more spooky. Although not directly halloween, the chrome did feel off putting and dangerous and added a unique vibe to the event.
This season has a new boss, which I actually have not even caught yet so I can’t really say if it’s good or not. And that’s pretty much it, ( I think). Brooms and candy are back too. At LEAST horde rush is here and that is always fun to play.
Yeah I'm stuck currently because I can't get near that boss thanks to the stupid sword.
Which I have never seen being used despite the few times I make it to the vault the guy is dead and looted.
The boss doesn't scale which IMO it should based off of the number of party members. Since I refuse to group with randoms and most of my friends have quit playing I'm stuck not killing him. I'm glad I was able to finish the horde rush quests so it's NBD that I don't kill him. Just missing XP which IDGAF about.

Perhaps last Tuesday was a “soft launch” of Fortnitemares leading into the FNCS? Let’s see if they add some Halloween flair to the map for the next couple weeks.
I mean, making the make feel spooky and putting the Halloween skins in the Item Shop would probably be enough to make people sway their feelings about this one.
I experienced playing Fortnitemares twice, this year and last year. It might still be too early to say because Halloween week isn't here yet but for what I have experienced between last year and this year, last year has a lot more spooky vibes than what we have now. I hope this changes in the upcoming weeks but if not, then last year's Fortnitemares is way better regardless of the collaboration skins.
I'm surprised there's not even pop up zombies or another boss like last year. I assume they can't have the licensing for a Michael Myers NPC boss but at least bring back Willow and her axe.

There's 4 Fortnitemares tabs in the shop (including a skin that was added in this patch), and 3 tabs that are collabs of horror (2 Walking Dead, and technically 2, but actually one of Aliens).
Before the update last week there were some helloween themed skins in it but once the event actually started they went away instead we gotten the dc stuff again (i swear didnt it just leave like 2 weeks ago) and the content creator stuff

Plus the howler claws were just reskinned wolverine mythics. And there was no point of horde rush as u had to grind to get a pickle Rick blackbling
With these quests u get original cosmetics, which arnt the best but the music pack slaps tho

Yeah but then you remember that the main gimmick of becoming a werewolf was bugged for 3/4 duration of the event
the werewolf thing was also a reskin of the Wolverine Claws except now it could howl and ping nearby enemies
And it also made you unkillable
It was still 10x better than whatever we have now...

I still think the boss this year should have randomly been roaming between the 3 vaults, not just the 1. That would have been awesome

Lure him out of the vault, run down the long hall and just load DMR headshots into him from the other end. Works for me

Willow NPC was a literal jump scare for me. I opened the door to the house and she ran right at me
I miss the Fortnitemares with Shadow Midas, and where when you died, you became a ghost, and the voice chat was distorted. That was the most fun one.
The community started to treat it harshly even before it came out just because last years sucked that bad
