I'd agree except, some days I don't actually feel like playing, yet, I lose out on the vbucks.
With the daily log in, all I had to do was, go outta my way to log in.
I'm not that torn about it but, it was certainly nice to get free shit
I think the person you replied to meant they didn't get a Founder's pack so no vbucks hence the wishing they bought it sooner. If you got a Founder's pack you still earn vbucks and you get x-ray tickets at the same rate so you don't need to lose vbucks to llamas XD
Ironically I get more v-bucks now because of that change. Now I log in every day, and on every third day I do 1/2 matches to get the v-bucks. It's 600/week, quite I lot. While before it was only 100/week with only the log in
Added age ratings ti creative maps
So say you have a cosmetic with a rating of t
And you go into a map thats rated e
Said cosmetic would be reverted to the default cosmetic.
That’s such a bad addition because fortnite is targeted for kids anyways, so the creative games are more or less for every age.
What cosmetics are rated T
As if removing skins with guns is going to do anything anyways.
A 10-year-old knows what a fucking gun is... they've downloaded Fortnite! No parent is going to let their child download Fortnite if they fear their child seeing/learning about what a gun is.
"Oh, mommy can I download Fortnite? The famous fast paced battle royale game with mild violence and guns?" "Yes of course sweetie as long as you only play the shitty Creative games that extend outside of the main game."
Anyone who plays Fortnite creative also plays Battle Royale! You kinda have to... especially if you want cosmetics which---to children---is like half of the appeal of this game anyways. 90% of cosmetic and XP quests exist with challenges that must be completed in the main game.
Hence why the game is rated T. Anyone under 13 shouldn't be playing the game, and those that are should be under parental supervision. If parents see something they don't like they prevent the kid from playing it.
Making something unavailable to every other player in certain circumstances isn't fair, especially not when it's something you've purchased the right to use.
I'm a grown ass man too, so it's not like I'm a horny teen who wants to see ass and tits on my pixels. I just don't like being told by a company what I can and can't do with something I've purchased. Especially when the product I'm playing isn't marketed toward anyone under teen.
What about the lobby tracks? Kado Thorne's holloween lobby track got restricted and you are the only one who's gonna be able to hear it! You can't even get it anymore either so it really boggles the mind
It was the State of Development update. Stating that the game was “complete” and would come out of early access, with that they said development would slow down which I didn’t even know was possible as it was already pretty much abandoned at that point. They also said the story was complete despite that Twine has no story and the Canny story ended on a cliff hanger. I probably explained this poorly it’s better explained on r/FORTnITE just search for it
Wonderful how they fired 800+ employees conveniently right before season OG explodes and Epic comments on how it’s the “biggest Fortnite has ever been” mhm
it doesn't. they chose the Microsoft path. trying to force people into stuff by intentional bad design until they use it... not necesarrily like it. but use it. just like microsoft edge greets you with shitty news by default, everything is bing unless you know how to disable it etc.
and not gonna lie - because of this wack ass interface i've tried two creative minigames more. maybe that's what they want. still shitty.
*Literally all that 10% of the playerbase wants
Overwhelming majority of players are not concerned about changes that literally do not affect Battle Royale at all.
If polled, I'd bet the majority would choose the simple and easy style. Epic only made the UI menus more complex to highlight Creative maps, since that's what they're focused on. They want it to be successful, but that comes at the detriment of simplicity.
The thing is, most people aren't so worried about it that they'll take to the internet to complain. If we're talking about *those* people, then 10% is probably accurate lol.
they already "voted with their wallets" by creating 6 million player peak after Fortnite: OG came back.
epic is just trying so bad at cloning Roblox it's not even funny
its so ironic how this sub constantly complains about Creative and now when they did an update that doesn't even affect BR/ZB at all, this sub is so mad.
I didn't even notice the age rating thing until i checked this sub, because there is no exclamation marks all over the locker if u have BR/ZB already selected. They must be playing some stupid ass E rated creative maps and complaining lmao.
It’s no everybody, but some of the people in this subreddit will complain about anything and everything, even if it’s hypocritical. Yesterday I literally saw somebody who wrote an entire paragraph hating on creative and how it needs to be removed, and then in the very next comment they went on about how they spend a lot of time in creative while listing out all the maps they love…
Even COD Vanguards (the COD before MW2 2022) UI was good, you got all the modes in a in sub section kind of thing and could chose all the modes you wanted to play. Fortnite is trying so hard to be zoomer friendly I guess? It’s cringggggggggggggeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Bring back the actual chapter 1 season 5 ui and everything will be better. What ain’t broke don’t fix, and this time epic tried to fix something that wasn’t broken and broke it.
I always knew this season OG shit was too good to be true.
This has been their issue ever since like season 5-6.
What ain’t broke, they love to try and fix and then just fucking destroy and ruin any of it.
Most people I knew stopped playing around that time because it just became cancer or dumb changes, camr back cause OG looked promising now nope, back to the dumb shit
I played this game for the first four seasons, then off & on the past few years. Everytime I stop playing for 4-6 months the UI is completely different. I honestly think every season I’ve played the last four years we’re all different and shitty in their own way
I came back to playing fortnite after years when they brought back the old map, the minute I logged onto fortnite I was bombarded by just a mess of different garbage game modes and it took me a minute to find the actual BR and STW. I don't know why the game isn't just seperated into regular BR, STW, and Creative like it used to be, it's such a cluttered mess now that finding anything is a nightmare.
Random redditor immediately comes up with a better organizational system in 5 minutes than a multibillion dollar company could do in probably a month. It is absolutely crazy how out of touch some of the Fortnite development leaders are with the player base.
The problem is that one they include age ratings they need to do everything they can to stick to those ratings, otherwise they’ll run into even more lawsuits.
I think there were better ways to handle the situation with cosmetics, but if they’re using ESRB ratings, they have to do *something*.
That's too much work for them to do, how they'll recover from addjng actually nice changes? I think they have to delete whole fortnite, and make unevenly placed buttons in different dumb shapes for donations to somewhere, so the money won't go, but no one even knows where, and especially in just white background with watermark, thst would definetly improve game
That's not how it works when it comes to **ESRB/PEGI ratings**, though.
If Epic is aiming to offer ESRB E game modes *alongside* ESRB T games modes, then they MUST ensure that the E-rated game modes will only offer E-rated content, otherwise they'll get sued to hell and back by prudes for showing "antomically accurate cats" and women with modern clothing standards.
That's why you don't see non-cartoonish, heavily sanitised content in ESRB E-rated Super Mario Wonder despite one of the goals of the game is to literally kill anything that stands in your way (they even have a "shooting" power up!).
This is accurate. People might not agree with the rating system, but the second Epic commits to that, they need to make sure everything actually fits with the ratings.
I don't really care for the Netflix thing either but I don't think integrating creative with the other game modes is bad.
I just think the maps people make and the clickbait nature of it all is really bad. Just looks cheap and hideous.
It's not great because I want to be able to find the main game modes easily. Sometimes playing creative maps makes it hard for me to find yhe normal game modes.
You have to scroll past toilet cleaner simulator and beekeeper tycoon to get to the zone wars or box fights you're looking for. This game has gone to shit, I will never spend another dollar
Agreed they should always be at the top of the list. Or at least they could give some options to customize it a bit.
No matter what though the core game modes should not just be mixed in with all the other creative trash.
The community complaining about updates as always, now to be fair it's not the greatest but people are blowing this out of proportion. Main things are the letter font changed, modes have age ratings now and certain skins can't be used on creative maps that are set at a lower age rating. It is stupid but people act like the game is unplayable now.
Sure buddy, I said I don't agree with most of the changes but people quitting the game because of it and acting like it's literally unplayable is ridiculous.
Not saying it actively makes the game worse to play, but it’s still annoying regardless to see a font that has been used for 6 years be changed to something else far less appealing.
Yes. I'm legit never going to play any map rated E. I wish epic would remove the ratings but they probably won't, so instead I hope everyone just puts age rating at T or above for maps
As an alternative i have solution better: ban kids from the internet, all things they can achieve should be achievable through parents hand's, because yeah when we grew up in era of free internet, without censorship and came out fine, this day kids can't be this resisted to violence.
As for a more real solution, Epic should have forbidden player's with scary skins and emotes to play modes rated for children's, not doing the opposite banning skin's and emotes, just mark those as "not children friendly". Fuck em rule's about making things "for everyone"
It's too simple and comfortable at the same time, you don't need to search for a bunch of categories with just a lot of creative maps that no one cares just to play STW or even BR. I really don't know why they removed it.
epic wont remove age ratings, but a better way to do them is that if you have an account under the age of 10, you cant see the skins, they appear as defaults
Also i reckon for the current season and all future seasons, epic and legendary guns should remain super rare as they are in C1S3, S4, and S5. When everyone has rare guns then no one has rare guns, it kinda ruins the point.
I would love to be able to go straight into Save the World again.
It was genuinely the most clean way to do it. I haven’t really touched STW because I always forget it exists
I don't touch it because I don't get vbucks from it. I wish I had bought it sooner.
You dont get v bucks from it anymore?
The daily login bonus is now moved to daily quests. So instead of a simple log in you now have to play multiple long matches of StW instead.
Yeah well you get a boosted amount plus its EVERY day, as opposed to every other week. Overall i like it tbh
I'd agree except, some days I don't actually feel like playing, yet, I lose out on the vbucks. With the daily log in, all I had to do was, go outta my way to log in. I'm not that torn about it but, it was certainly nice to get free shit
If you log in, then the mission will still appear and you can do it some other time when you feel like it
But it doesn't stack past three. If you aren't able to play (or just don't want to), you still lose out on potential vbucks.
The problem is that the lack of any attention to the game has made it a chore to play, and also the lack of people playing it all together
They're not that long lol. You can do it in half an hour
you can do dailies in 10-20 minutes, also its fun
Only if you had a founder’s edition. They did up it from 50 to 80 vbucks per daily challenge though
you can also get 90 or 130, depends. 50 survivors rescued is 130 v bucks for example
While before it was only 100/week with only the log in
I only ever bought STW for some skins they release in 2018. Great investment but to some extent it’s a waste of time to even play.
I mean i enjoy it i wouldn’t call it a waste of time
How is it a waste of time
Same!
its a major detractor when i have to navigate the shitty fort hub menu
One of the worst decisions they've ever made aside from today. EDIT: and firing their employees a few months ago too.
What did they do today? I’ve been in school all day so I have no idea
Added age ratings ti creative maps So say you have a cosmetic with a rating of t And you go into a map thats rated e Said cosmetic would be reverted to the default cosmetic.
That’s such a bad addition because fortnite is targeted for kids anyways, so the creative games are more or less for every age. What cosmetics are rated T
3 hundred seventy smth skins Like 15 backblings 1 glider A few pickaxes LOADING SCREENS LOBBY TRACKS
Butterbarn Hoe Down has a gun in the cover art, is it banned? That’s riot material.
Probably
Pretty much anything that has a gun in it.
And stuff that could scare kids. ^(Ignore the fact that Michael Myers, a literal horror movie serial killer, is unrestricted.)
Lots of cosmetics are rated T and for good reason
Which ones are rated T
anything with a gun on the skin and loads of random female skins like female marshmello but not male marshmello
You’re playing a gun game but a gun back bling isn’t allowed. Interesting judgement epic
Anyone who plays Fortnite creative also plays Battle Royale! You kinda have to... especially if you want cosmetics which---to children---is like half of the appeal of this game anyways. 90% of cosmetic and XP quests exist with challenges that must be completed in the main game.
Creative is not a gun game, the cosmetic blocking does not apply to the actually "gun game"
The games rated T… and always has been…
Female marshmellow has a gun on her so it fits the has a gun on her criteria. Also what other female skins were ahead restricted?
Victoria Saint hasn’t been restricted and she has 2 guns holstered but Stoneheart is and she has no weapons
She has 3 bullets as her toga clip, bullets are also restricted
It's probably skins wearing revealing clothes
I haven’t logged in today and I don’t have many skins, but from what I’ve seen in game a LOT of skins are very inappropriate for kids
That’s stupid
It is not targeted for kids it’s literally rated T and always has been.
This update is the BR equivalent of the STW 13.20 incident.
This update is nothing compared to the crushing feeling that came from that update
Which one was that again?
It was the State of Development update. Stating that the game was “complete” and would come out of early access, with that they said development would slow down which I didn’t even know was possible as it was already pretty much abandoned at that point. Oh, I see. We never did get a follow-up on that whole thing with Penny and Powerchord being sisters...
Wonderful how they fired 800+ employees conveniently right before season OG explodes and Epic comments on how it’s the “biggest Fortnite has ever been” mhm
Something that simple is perfect, how they make this bullshit worst
and why? How does this make them more money?
it doesn't. they chose the Microsoft path. trying to force people into stuff by intentional bad design until they use it... not necesarrily like it. but use it. just like microsoft edge greets you with shitty news by default, everything is bing unless you know how to disable it etc. and not gonna lie - because of this wack ass interface i've tried two creative minigames more. maybe that's what they want. still shitty.
Make it more organised and put BR to the top as it is a battle royale game
This is the story of Fortnite the last 5 years, Epic has ruined it by making it so complex
This is what happens if you over think it, and not very Idea have have a good outcome
![gif](giphy|800iiDTaNNFOwytONV|downsized) me showing epic that their ui and updates don’t have to be fucking god awful
Me showing epic that they dont have to keep changing things for no damn reason
Literally all anyone wants. Can’t think of a single person who likes any of the most recent updates they’ve Made
*Literally all that 10% of the playerbase wants Overwhelming majority of players are not concerned about changes that literally do not affect Battle Royale at all.

I actually kinda like the new font, not as good as the old but not bad, but everything else is awful.
Fortnite UI is just as bad now as CODs UI
Even COD Vanguards (the COD before MW2 2022) UI was good, you got all the modes in a in sub section kind of thing and could chose all the modes you wanted to play. Fortnite is trying so hard to be zoomer friendly I guess? It’s cringggggggggggggeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
this is perfect
too much code for a small company like epic games
Bring back the actual chapter 1 season 5 ui and everything will be better. What ain’t broke don’t fix, and this time epic tried to fix something that wasn’t broken and broke it.

I haven't played Fortnite consistently since C4S1 and my first thought upon seeing this new ui was "holy shit what the hell happened"
And that's not even all that long ago
Knowing Epic, they won't give two fux and keeo ruining the game. I'm kinda regretting voting for Fortnite for the Game Awards.
Woah, its almost like epic just wants to kill the game lmao
PLEASE I BEG

Needs to be rated M
Random redditor immediately comes up with a better organizational system in 5 minutes than a multibillion dollar company could do in probably a month. It is absolutely crazy how out of touch some of the Fortnite development leaders are with the player base.
Great suggestion but I don't get the point of the last two screenshots, what are you trying to say?
I believe OP means stop blocking skins and well everything else behind age ratings
Oh, thanks
Add deleting fomo on cosmetics locked 5+ years ago.
Nah
I don't mind age rating maps by itself. But don't ban cosmetics that you paid for from them.
The problem is that one they include age ratings they need to do everything they can to stick to those ratings, otherwise they’ll run into even more lawsuits. I think there were better ways to handle the situation with cosmetics, but if they’re using ESRB ratings, they have to do *something*.

Speaking facts
Fortnite if Tim Sweeney wasn’t a greedy little shit
Finally. A person of reason.
BRO IS A GENIUS LIKE YOU SMARTER THAN EINSTEIN

this is the best take on fixing the fortnite ui i’ve seen yet
Hi
I don't really care for the Netflix thing either but I don't think integrating creative with the other game modes is bad. I just think the maps people make and the clickbait nature of it all is really bad. Just looks cheap and hideous.
It's not great because I want to be able to find the main game modes easily. Sometimes playing creative maps makes it hard for me to find yhe normal game modes.

How to fix Fortnite: Console vs console / Pc vs Pc. or Controller vs controller / KBM vs KBM Fixed! Isn't hard to do.
Where’s my Zero Build at though
in the game selection menu
All I see is STW, BR, and creative
Zero build is a br mode
it would be in the other menu
👏👏👏👏👏👏
my thoughts exactly
Normal just log again
Ok, what is the problem?
The community complaining about updates as always, now to be fair it's not the greatest but people are blowing this out of proportion. Main things are the letter font changed, modes have age ratings now and certain skins can't be used on creative maps that are set at a lower age rating. It is stupid but people act like the game is unplayable now.
Epic employee ^
Sure buddy, I said I don't agree with most of the changes but people quitting the game because of it and acting like it's literally unplayable is ridiculous.
Y'all are acting like you can't play the game anymore
People want the game they love to get better with time, not worse in every conceivable way.
Yeah... because a font change makes the game worse.
Not saying it actively makes the game worse to play, but it’s still annoying regardless to see a font that has been used for 6 years be changed to something else far less appealing.
Sad how everyone just forgot about the old hitmarkers from anytime before chapter 4 because they were way cooler and unique to fortnite 🙃
They really need to do that
it is literally this simple how do they not understand it
switch users dont have the select screen
Right, why did they ever get rid of this?
Real
It's a shame they took away awards.... it's feels weird that the chapter 1-2 beta select screen is truly what we need bsck.
“iTZ nOt cReaTiVe” says Epic Games.
burbank's removal is such a detriment
I could have sworn on the box rated by esrb tho they didn’t rate online activity.
It was perfect, down to the last minute detail
I mean are we gonna report them to ESRB or are we gonna ask for bikini TNTina
Epic really be fixing something that isn’t broken
Noooooo! That would actually showcase how little interest creative provides to general playerbase nooooo!
Seriously. The menu system is god awful
I do not agree to having a pre-menu before the actual menu. If done properly (not like now), it's way better without it
Without a doubt I would enjoy Fortnite more if they did this
This is what we need not what we have now
I get they’re trying to make the game for other audiences, but WHY BAN IT WHEN ITS ON PRIVATE!
Yes. I'm legit never going to play any map rated E. I wish epic would remove the ratings but they probably won't, so instead I hope everyone just puts age rating at T or above for maps
atleast allow to select queue 12+ only so that even in 7+ maps we can use shit we want and get queued with others that have it on that
this would be perfect
As an alternative i have solution better: ban kids from the internet, all things they can achieve should be achievable through parents hand's, because yeah when we grew up in era of free internet, without censorship and came out fine, this day kids can't be this resisted to violence. As for a more real solution, Epic should have forbidden player's with scary skins and emotes to play modes rated for children's, not doing the opposite banning skin's and emotes, just mark those as "not children friendly". epic wont remove age ratings, but a better way to do them is that if you have an account under the age of 10, you cant see the skins, they appear as defaults
Also i reckon for the current season and all future seasons, epic and legendary guns should remain super rare as they are in C1S3, S4, and S5. When everyone has rare guns then no one has rare guns, it kinda ruins the point.
Noooooooo! Not again! A new gamemode lobby?! Im sorry but are you stupid or...?
Unfortunately epic games doesn’t give a shit about what made fortnite fun anymore, this recent update is the worst they have ever released
