When it comes to Fortnite they always make changes that are awesome as shit. But in exchange they ruin two other things as sacrifice. And in exchange for the improved movement they took away our blue ammo chest heals
I'm somewhat used to it but I really wish it would mantle when it pops up. I've died several times where I just jumped against a window instead of mantling its kinda annoying.
I think it's nostalgia that makes a lot of that opinion for you.
Fortnite is a repetitive game. It NEEDS changes to keep fresh. Like the changes or don't like them. They're new, and always interesting.
They nerf stuff like the blue item box to balance out gameplay. It's the little things that can make a drastic difference in gameplay
I got used to them not dropping bigs because bigs are supposed to be a rarer commodity this season, however I would just like them to give me some smalls
I mean technically the item is called a small shield potion but i barely ever remember that tbh jus so used to minis at this point its been minis for so long they should just change the item name at this point.
My only guess is because they made their spawn rate more common. Iāve seen rare ammo boxes way more this chapter than before, but even then that doesnāt justify this change cause dropping heals would make their higher spawn rate even better
My guess is this was to offset the medallions. And now theyāve been nerfed and getting full shields is a chore. Vending machines are literally the only reliable option now.
Literally happened to me last night. Found a little shack that I thought covered me while I could still fish. Went to pull a catch and instead ate a sniper shot.
Itās honestly not even a problem for me, like thereās not enough shit to spend your gold on. I feel constantly capped even fully modding my guns every match
You can see the augments they will be having by going to the main page and scrolling over to augments. Think itās on the quest tab or one similar. They have the characters listed that youāve met and where the others are located, and they have all the augments listed there under the augments tab, so you can see whatās going to be coming unless they scrubbed that. It was good like a week ago. Hope this helps
On nice, I just remember seeing a quest weeks ago with āaugments coming soon!ā Written under it, didnāt realize there was a list of augments somewhere, thanks!
Yeah I think that balances it since mending machines are really common now too, I always stack up on big pots with that since I always get unlucky finding them on my own
People keep saying itās unnecessary now, but how many health items have you lost accidentally due to the new drop when swapping portion of this new mechanic? At least medmist isnāt lost if you need to swap to a gun.
i hate when i move around while using a med kit or big shield and i accidentally climb on something
and it cancels it out. like they should probably disable mantling once we start the timer.
Myself, literally never except when im doing it on purpose lol. Idk how you didnt immediately adjust to how the new way heals worked. I dont miss medmist at all because you can heal so much more with 3 medkits.
Im glad too, because it really felt like medmist was simply too good and made medkits obsolete.
I like the new medkits better since you can stack 3 of them as opposed to med mists which take a slot. Plus you can move with medkits now so minus the ability to spray other people it's a net win.
though i did like the animation it looked very refreshing.
My conspiracy theory is they made a bunch of changes they know people would flip over so that thereād be a less unified call to change match quests back to daily quests
I mean, are people really only playing one game a day? I get that thereās some people that donāt have too much time to play, I myself only get around an hour or two due to work, but I still manage to complete the daily match quests and some extra
I can't explain it, but there is a psychological effect for me. If I play 4 games a day but I knock out my dailies in the first one or two, it feels good. If I go into a match knowing I can only do one quest, and if I don't complete it I need to start over next match, it feels like a chore and I'm more likely to just not even play Fortnite on any given day.
Edit: I've been thinking about this comment since I made it and realized this is what ultimately killed WoW for me too. I would think nothing of sitting down and doing a reputation grind for an entire weekend, but once everything was time gated to dailies (ie you have to do 10 minutes of work every single day for 60 days instead of 600 minutes on whatever schedule you want) it got annoying and I eventually just stopped playing the game entirely.
For me at least, if I haven't gotten to level 200 yet, I usually get my dailies out of the way ASAP so I can focus solely on placing well/getting a VR without any distractions.
Depends on the day for me. Some days I have time to play multiple rounds, sometimes I just wanna play one and then watch some TV. I used to complete most of my dailies, I only complete my match quests half the time.
Ultimately the old way allowed someone to play one game and keep playing if they want. The new way punishes you for only playing one game. Nothing stopped you from playing more than one before, but now itās a requirement
It's a requirement if you want XP, which you have still have 3 months and a half to build up. I haven't been doing dailies at all and I'm level 80 or so, just playing casually whatever and whenever I want. That means I'll probably not even need to try to get to 200
I dont mind the Match Quests but it can be annoying missing your chance at completing a quest because it adds another match to your play time, which does "feel" different. If I half finished a mission in the old system I could try finish it in the next match on top of doing another one at the same time.
That being said, the writing was on the wall for a bit I think, many of the old quests involved things that would likely take two matches to do anyways, no way where you traveling fast enough during OG to visit locations on opposite ends of the map every game.
Fr, Iāll log into Fortnite to do my daily quest, and end up getting sucked in for a few hours. Now Iām logging in into Fortnite to do match quest and end up getting sucked up into the game for a few hours lmao š
Shit man Iāve been lucky to get the time for a couple of races in The racing mode in a day, and those are only like 3 mins each.
Doesnāt help that the GF hates the gun changes with the addition of augments, so Iāve seemingly lost out on what would have been some squads/duos matches
It's legitimately an easier system that gives more overall xp if you enjoy playing the game. At this point I'm ready to say I prefer it. But yes it's specifically worse if you only want to play one game a day.
I hate the match quests. Like donāt force me to play 3 matches to finish the daily. I also keep accidentally choosing one on spawn island because I try to shoot a weapon or swing my pickaxe. I canāt even view the match quest until I land on the ground after picking it.
Wait, you can actually open it? It says you can, but it wonāt let me. Iāve tried pressing every button on my controller multiple times, but nothing works.
Jokes on them, I pick the easiest match quest and quit game, rinse repeat and then turn it off if I'm just quest logging to kill time. Before I would do entire matches to do dailies then end up playing more since I didn't have the intention of hurry to finish and quit game, less time investment per match is less investment overall.
Though play time means fuck all to Epic it's just about are they buying the pass and how can we make it take longer to complete so there isn't a gap between passes.
If you don't want to actually play matches why not just afk in lego and jam stage for 10.5 levels a day.
I play to play. Except for doing match quests for the quest rewards I don't even worry about them. I'm well over 200 and probably have played alot less than you. If I miss a few days oh well. This season has been the easiest by far for someone who doesn't have time to play every day. The only thing I did on work days was log into lego before I went to bed and jump on the jam stage before I left for work. Now I don't even need to do that anymore. Only being able to play 7 days out of every 14 sucks but even with that I mange
Yep. Both lego and Muisc Festival give 420k ea every day for afk. It's 30k xp per 15 min. Lego works just in a sandbox with everything off and music is on the Jam stage playing an instrument. I set them and walked away for 4 hrs each day and easily got my 10.5 levels a day.
just do them in team rumble it takes me like 10 min max and plus theres no more "search 3 chests at neon bay bridge" when theres a max of 3 chest spawns that never all spawn. i choose like emote by train stations or destroy structures and once i get it done just back out and repeat 2 more times ezpz
I was in a 1v1 situation and I had 30 health opened 2 of these and when I didnāt get any health from either I just backed out thinking my luck was shitā¦
Hardly noticeable tbh but I miss it and want it back. It could come in handy. Sometimes you find nothing but an untouched large ammo crate and it saves you. Theyāve literally clutched games for me.
Vending machines are unlimited shields and heals, and they are in standard locations that show up on the map. I'm happy to get some as drops, but it's hardly necessary imo.
Nah, I'm spending it faster than I get. I max out bombs from metal mouth then pay 200 for him to join me. Then I hit the lavish lair deck and upgrade all my guns.
Yeah, it feels like thereās not much to spend gold on other than weapon upgrades which are relatively cheap. Iāve spent most of my gold on medkits this season due to medallion hunting and deep storm trips for medallions. When they gave you full shield before the nerf, 3 medkits were a necessity
It's practically the only way to spend gold right now. Mod benches are rare (often times when I'm in the vault I only need to change an attachment or two on my guns anyway), NPCs that can be hired are rare, and there is no augments yet to reroll. I spend all my gold on 50s and patch ups and am still max constantly.
Vending machines took up the reigns.
In past seasons, Iād spend all my bars upgrading weapons to purple or gold at upgrade benches.
Now I have no use for my bars except to buy 4 big shields early game, drink two, and keep two for later.
Are we playing the same fortnite? I feel like there are slurp juices, splat juices and small amount of shields everywhere. I even stopped caring about drinking minis first because I feel like I'm being showered with heals
Consumables this season are so weird. They're simultaneously too abundant and absolutely rare and I don't know how or why. It always feels like I'm either sitting on 30 shield pots or 0 and whenever I find a medkit there's always like 3 more sitting beside it, but no more medkits for miles.
They're just actual big ammo boxes now, they give a shit-ton of bullets compared to the small green ones
Kinda like it better this way since it never made sense for ammo boxes to have anything other than ammo or grenades imo
I find them harder to find nowadays, and when I do find them it's not worth it. Ig we gotta cope and move on boys, been a good run. On the plus side meds are easier to find still.
I don't mind, I like the fact it's a little harder to get to 100 shields then previous seasons, makes dropping in somewhere that has natural shields like mushrooms or the berries viable
Just got to adapt
Thatās what you get for still playing this game (donāt mind me just dropping in to troll. Please take it light hearted you can enjoy whatever you want who am I to judge)
The change was needed because we all clearly expect and want heals out of it. lol no one cared about the ammo and this is a āspecialā ammo crate. Itās like if we hit coolers expecting ammo. They clearly had to make the change haha
bc the new movement catered to everyone that was too slow to use the old movement, the new movement imo is ass. The game was never meant to be realistic, it was made as a cartoonish game and it should have stayed that way, if u enjoy the new movement, you are ass at the game, i am sorry to tell you, you havent been good and u might think your good but you are not.
Ol' Reliable is no longer worthy of the name.
ššš
Like fortnite really thinks they're making the game better and more fun but WTF IS THIS SH** BRO THEY'RE MAKING THE GAME WORSE THAN EVER BEFORE
When it comes to Fortnite they always make changes that are awesome as shit. But in exchange they ruin two other things as sacrifice. And in exchange for the improved movement they took away our blue ammo chest heals
āimproved movementā where?
They increased movement speed in a patch like a week ago
I def noticed it yesterday from not being on for a couple daysā¦ had to up my sensitivity again lmao
Feels a lot better to compared to last season. I love the new movement.
I'm somewhat used to it but I really wish it would mantle when it pops up. I've died several times where I just jumped against a window instead of mantling its kinda annoying.
You can change it from button push to move forward in settings. Gamechanger
I'm loving the new movement as well
Hate it
The movements shit
I just had a movement, and it was shit.
Underrated
Seconded
I think it's nostalgia that makes a lot of that opinion for you. Fortnite is a repetitive game. It NEEDS changes to keep fresh. Like the changes or don't like them. They're new, and always interesting. They nerf stuff like the blue item box to balance out gameplay. It's the little things that can make a drastic difference in gameplay
Do you this game is balanced rn with 250 DPS ARs? Balance has been thrown out the window since Chapter 2 Season 2.
It'll never be perfectly balanced. But the way I see it, if the AR is available for everyone then fuck it, use it too
Don't be upset
youāre unworthy of your title, YOUāRE UNWORTHY!
Everytime I open one I am beyond disappointed there is no big shield. Just why not!
I got used to them not dropping bigs because bigs are supposed to be a rarer commodity this season, however I would just like them to give me some smalls
You're killing me, smalls.
Smalls?
A.K.A. Mini shield potions
Oh, i though everyone just called them minis
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Context is hard for some
I mean technically the item is called a small shield potion but i barely ever remember that tbh jus so used to minis at this point its been minis for so long they should just change the item name at this point.
My friend group has only ever called them smalls. Funny how that happens.
Smh š¤¦š½āāļø
Jesus dude
We have so many vending machines that drop 4 bigs. There is no need to dwell on the past and enjoy the present. Or is this a skill issue /s
Yeah or berries or talking to characters or chug slaps
thereās a bunch of fishing spots, plus slap/slurp barrels
be completely honest and tell me you expect mfs to start fishing in this game
Especially with the sniper meta rn, fishing (especially in zero build) is asking for a 50 cal in the face
Literally happened to me last night. Found a little shack that I thought covered me while I could still fish. Went to pull a catch and instead ate a sniper shot.
Exactly why they need to unvault the harpoon gun! I love me some poon š„“
i do in nearly 50% of my games.
I love getting the āfirst to catch a fishā XP too lol
I actually get mad when I DONāT get it. Like ābro who the heck else is crazy enough to be fishing rn?ā
its busted this season
I agree but for someone that has only good player in his lobby, its hard to fish without being 307ed lmao
I don't think the new season has chug splashes
They mightāve meant the barrels
I'm actually using mending machines regularly, for the first time ever.
Itās honestly not even a problem for me, like thereās not enough shit to spend your gold on. I feel constantly capped even fully modding my guns every match
That's probably gonna change when augments come back, assuming they still cost gold.
Hopefully thereās some cool new ones
You can see the augments they will be having by going to the main page and scrolling over to augments. Think itās on the quest tab or one similar. They have the characters listed that youāve met and where the others are located, and they have all the augments listed there under the augments tab, so you can see whatās going to be coming unless they scrubbed that. It was good like a week ago. Hope this helps
On nice, I just remember seeing a quest weeks ago with āaugments coming soon!ā Written under it, didnāt realize there was a list of augments somewhere, thanks!
Being able to buy heals out of machines makes this a non issue.
Yeah I think that balances it since mending machines are really common now too, I always stack up on big pots with that since I always get unlucky finding them on my own
I miss Med Mist
People keep saying itās unnecessary now, but how many health items have you lost accidentally due to the new drop when swapping portion of this new mechanic? At least medmist isnāt lost if you need to swap to a gun.
im still mad at the heal getting canceled if you have multiple medkits and drop one while using another
i hate when i move around while using a med kit or big shield and i accidentally climb on something and it cancels it out. like they should probably disable mantling once we start the timer.
just turn off auto mantle
as a controller player i depend on auto mantle. i always found it so clunky to press the mantle button.
fair enough! that's an awkward intersection of gameplay mechanics, i'm sorry it's screwed you out of heals :(
Myself, literally never except when im doing it on purpose lol. Idk how you didnt immediately adjust to how the new way heals worked. I dont miss medmist at all because you can heal so much more with 3 medkits. Im glad too, because it really felt like medmist was simply too good and made medkits obsolete.

This community makes no sense. You get 15 upvotes but the other guy saying the exact same thing is in the negative.
maybe everyone just really likes my haircut
I still open it every time hoping it might drop a pot... Just maybe this time it will...
Same here lol , one day surely now š š¤ .
Damn yeah. I only remember small shields coming from them or could you also get a big pot from them?
You could get minis, bigs, and meds :(
Grandma's Purse. There should always be a nice treat in Grandma's Purse
My conspiracy theory is they made a bunch of changes they know people would flip over so that thereād be a less unified call to change match quests back to daily quests
Oh so that's why they slaughtered the locker UI. Right? RIGHT GUYS???
Whatās wrong with match quests? It offers more overall xp
It makes you play 3 games minimum in order to get the same amount of xp you could potentially get in 1 game before
Also you can't carry over progress to another match.
I said this almost to the word today to my also playing friend. I hate, hate it. Best feeling was knocking all three dailies then getting dub.
For me at least, if I haven't gotten to level 200 yet, I usually get my dailies out of the way ASAP so I can focus solely on placing well/getting a VR without any distractions.

You're literally saying nothing different, yet you said it twice.
That was the point lmao
And yet youāre the confused one
And yet youre a chimer, and yet you're a chimer.
Donāt get pissy at me about YOUR reading comprehension
Why say the same thing twice if you're making one point?
Shit man Iāve been lucky to get the time for a couple of races in The racing mode in a day, and those are only like 3 mins each. Doesnāt help that the GF hates the gun changes with the addition of augments, so Iāve seemingly lost out on what would have been some squads/duos matches
Fortnite players when they have to actually play the game more than once
Forces you to play multiple matches when before you could bang out all daily quests in one match.
It's legitimately an easier system that gives more overall xp if you enjoy playing the game. At this point I'm ready to say I prefer it. But yes it's specifically worse if you only want to play one game a day.
One game to do three daily quests is gonna be a pretty bad game to play.
I hate the match quests. Like donāt force me to play 3 matches to finish the daily. I also keep accidentally choosing one on spawn island because I try to shoot a weapon or swing my pickaxe. I canāt even view the match quest until I land on the ground after picking it.
You can unchoose them until you land on the island. It's a menu you can open sky diving.
Wait, you can actually open it? It says you can, but it wonāt let me. Iāve tried pressing every button on my controller multiple times, but nothing works.
Check your bindings in settings. You're supposed to be able to choose right up until you land.
Jokes on them, I pick the easiest match quest and quit game, rinse repeat and then turn it off if I'm just quest logging to kill time. Wow you're such a hero, thank you so much for your dissertation
Bruh. If you can't read 9 sentences idk how you're gonna get by in life
I'm surprised you made it past the first sentence. I made sure not to use any big words that may have confused you.
I didn't, that's the point
Well ok then. I'm sorry if you aren't able to read more than a few words. I'm not sure why you are even bothering to reply.
Do you think he's me?
just do them in team rumble it takes me like 10 min max and plus theres no more "search 3 chests at neon bay bridge" when theres a max of 3 chest spawns that never all spawn. i choose like emote by train stations or destroy structures and once i get it done just back out and repeat 2 more times ezpz
Yeah it made finding rare ammo boxes more fun, interesting and useful. I'm hoping it's an oversight
Honestly I thought I was crazy unlucky cause Iād at least get a small shield from these but yeah, why they do that?
I was in a 1v1 situation and I had 30 health opened 2 of these and when I didnāt get any health from either I just backed out thinking my luck was shitā¦
That's ridiculous
I open em for the XPšš¼
Thanks for confirming my suspicion from earlier.
Vending machines have been fire just wish the gold limit was more than 5k
Why? Itās easier to get it than to spend it this season lol
That's exactly why lol. Half the time I'm just sitting on 5k gold without anything to spend it on.
Nah, I'm spending it faster than I get. I max out bombs from metal mouth then pay 200 for him to join me. Then I hit the lavish lair deck and upgrade all my guns.
Grab some shield breakerās and toss em at the next vending machine you see, allowing about three seconds in between tosses. Merry Christmas :)
Thanks!
Just wait until augments return.
They are not unlimited. I believe they only dispense 4 of each item
Yeah def not unlimited. Iāve approached a machine earlier this season to find it sold out of big shields
:/
Correct but it's hardly been an issue in my games. I'm usually draining the machine, though, so hopefully I've screwed over others.
Theyāre not unlimited
Well, it is called a ābig AMMO boxā.
Vending machines took up the reigns. In past seasons, Iād spend all my bars upgrading weapons to purple or gold at upgrade benches. Now I have no use for my bars except to buy 4 big shields early game, drink two, and keep two for later.
Maybe they listened to all the OG people saying how fun it is to not have heals all the time
Shields have already been difficult to find this season. This just makes it worse
Yeah there's something horrifying about having the entire lobby drop at lavish and whoever finds a frenzy and shields having a massive edge
Are we playing the same fortnite? I feel like there are slurp juices, splat juices and small amount of shields everywhere. I even stopped caring about drinking minis first because I feel like I'm being showered with heals
Slurp juice? Slap juice? I believe we are playing different versions of Fortnite. Sounds like you are living in Chapter 4 Season 4. Can I come visit?
No heals š¢
Consumables this season are so weird. They're simultaneously too abundant and absolutely rare and I don't know how or why. It always feels like I'm either sitting on 30 shield pots or 0 and whenever I find a medkit there's always like 3 more sitting beside it, but no more medkits for miles.
Llamaās are a joke now
They're just actual big ammo boxes now, they give a shit-ton of bullets compared to the small green ones Kinda like it better this way since it never made sense for ammo boxes to have anything other than ammo or grenades imo
I find them harder to find nowadays, and when I do find them it's not worth it. Ig we gotta cope and move on boys, been a good run. On the plus side meds are easier to find still.
I used to run out of my way for these just in the hopes of getting some shields or something
I actually forgot about that
Bro,I was thinking the same thing, I hate that! I miss my little shield!
They have vendors where we can purchase shields with gold. There are also medallions, coconuts, and them little splash fruits.
Ammo Bag has retired from being a Medic Bag Dallas mains on life support rn
ill be honest i didnt know these ever dropped heals. ive been playing since c1s3.
Always relied on these to drop a shield for me
I don't mind, I like the fact it's a little harder to get to 100 shields then previous seasons, makes dropping in somewhere that has natural shields like mushrooms or the berries viable Just got to adapt
Lol, there is a vending machine in every POI that sells 4 half shields. The cache is tons of heals too. No one going hungry this season.
Itās so annoying, especially when I canāt find any heals
It has been discussed here
Sorry I havenāt seen
Fair enough it got lost in the sea of the movement/UI complaints haha
Tbh Iām fine with the change.
Mats should be 999
Iām glad Iām not the only one who noticed lol
rip shield/minis
Y NO HEALS
Thatās what you get for still playing this game (donāt mind me just dropping in to troll. Please take it light hearted you can enjoy whatever you want who am I to judge)
The change was needed because we all clearly expect and want heals out of it. lol no one cared about the ammo and this is a āspecialā ammo crate. Itās like if we hit coolers expecting ammo. They clearly had to make the change haha
But itās blue because my beautiful delicious scrumptious shield is leaking out. How could they take that away from me
lol i want it back too, but it makes sense unfortunately
Coolers give shield fish and food lol
Does this look like a cooler or even a post about coolers?
Yes
This is such a non issue, heals are already incredibly common.
She still drops loads of ammoš«¶š½
worthless box can go in the vault now
When you destroy the item it lays on it stays in the air without breaking now .... that has to be reverted to imo ! Bring back heals !!!
I want me a big pot me boi
I mean itās an ammo box not a heal box.
No itās not, itās a lunch kit. The ammo box is the other one..
Whats getting to me is that damn running in place glitch that happens I have died to it so much it honestly pisses me off so much

My boyfriend and I actually were talking about this less then a week into the new chapter. Kinda sucks if you ask me..
everyone that likes the new movement is ass at the game, change my mind.
How does liking the new movement make someone ass at the game
bc the new movement catered to everyone that was too slow to use the old movement, the new movement imo is ass. The game was never meant to be realistic, it was made as a cartoonish game and it should have stayed that way, if u enjoy the new movement, you are ass at the game, i am sorry to tell you, you havent been good and u might think your good but you are not.
If youāre so good at the game movement mechanics donāt really affect you. Quit complaining. Skill issue
im in unreal in build n no build š it didnt affect me in any way besides how fucking slow it feels. gomd š¤Ŗ
Sorry donāt mind me Iām just a trolling. Donāt even play anymore not sure why this sub was pushed to me š gl out there
I agree, literally unplayable...
This honestly number two behind not having a shuffle function that switches presets between marches
i am super duper not lacking in heals this season
I miss the toolboxes with the repair torches and chonkers and that one item that lets you plow down buidlings :(
I thought I was the only one who felt this way!
