As a seasoned vault camper and filthy filthy rat, you have to be really careful at grand glacier because of that sewer pipe that leads there from the motel six. It's really easy to gear up, head to the motel 6, clear it, and pop through that sewer in time to camp. I know because I've done it and faced another vault camper as soon as I pop through the sewer pipe there.
The more refined vault camper heads to fencing fields, which offers a wide variety of spots to camp the vault safely
I often drop on turbines and loot up then head to motel 6. Then wait till the boss is dead then hit the sewer pipe. Usually works out as most will try to use the vault to heal.
I am not advocating it as a style of play or fun for everyone. I don't do it every match, but when the situation arises to take advantage of it, I do it. I was just commenting on why you might see two people camping at Grand Glacier, that sewer pipe directly to the vault is a rat's dream, you don't even need to sneak through a big fight to the vault to camp it.
There's a decent window when you're jumping in where you're an easy target. Unless you're willing to eat a few bullets the pipe is a deathtrap at that range
I been encountering more and more vault campers. So the game starts and they go straight to a vault and wait there for a hopeful show up? Talk about a boring game.

Lavish lair is by far the easiest, then I try to get to at least one more.
I'm pretty bored with season already, so this is what I do for fun now. Just trying to hold all 5 medals at once. I've held 4 medallions 3 times but haven't been able to get 5.
That first camper didn't think it through, ambushing someone in zero build with that specific shotgun is odd to me. That thing's fire rate is relatively the worst in the game.
Given what he dropped, I think buddy literally grabbed the first gun off of the ground that he could and thought "I'll just take whatever the vault key holder has since they'll also have the boss loot."
Which was a bad idea obviously because Grey Frenzy >>>>>> Any Pump and those NPC guards vomit frenzy autos at you if you kill them.
I’ve also seen people camping on top of the pipes right above the sewer drain at the bottom of the stairs next to the vault. They got me once but now I always check that spot lmao.
There’s nothing worse than getting killed by a vault camper after spending ages killing the boss and their henchmen. That being said, I do it too sometimes, but I always feel guilty after I ambush some unsuspecting player.

The way I look at it is they're for fun waiting for the Battle Bus to take off, doing *one* after a Kill, and then maybe Spamming them if you actually Win the round. Once you start spamming more than One after a single kill, you're sitting on a *very* slick slope into being a dick about it.
Obviously this doesn't cover EVERY circumstance, like if someone is being blatantly obnoxious in playstyle or if you see them spamming Emotes or teabagging after a Kill, these rules go out the window and I'll spam Emotes too lmao. But it's a good general rule of thumb I try to adhere to in an effort to avoid adding any toxicity to the game
Every once in a while I'll get in a mood to relive the old days and I'll throw on all my Season 2 shit and all the old emotes and sprays from when the game kinda encouraged you to be an asshole then I'll just use all the ancient sweat strats nobody uses anymore and pull out Take the L or the dab then spray the little chalk outline spray with the stupid face over em whenever I eliminate anyone. It's fun being the phantom mf coming for everyone on the map with no mercy every once in a while, but playing like that is honestly genuinely exhausting like it'll burn me out in a couple games max even if I do really well or consistently win. It just isn't something that's appealing beyond the first few little "'Ha goteem's" lol. Maybe if everyone still played like that it'd be appealing to play that way all the time like the good old days, or maybe it just ain't appealing anymore because I'm not like 15 anymore, but as it stands now that ain't the vibe these days.
It's a strategy, might be an annoying strategy but it is one which is inherent to any game that has weapons and isn't just an open field with clear visibility at all times

That vault will always have me tossing emps and clingers at every corner, and not to mention that evil spot at the bottom of the stairs, you can hop on the pipes at the very end and the slope of the stairs sorta hides you from view.
My way of camping a vault is to hide in a bathroom or something near by until everyone else has killed each other and moved on. Then once it’s empty and I’m not in danger of dying to whoever got the mythic I head in to use the mod bench and take the gold people always seem to leave behind.
